Easy way to connect

This has become an convenient and useful tool when I need to have a lesson with a student in a different part of the country. It makes it easy, especially if they don’t have an apple product.

Pros

I like the clarity and ease of use for my students that need to chat but don’t have face time.

Cons

I least like the new emojis. I mean...cmon guys lol.

Unrivalled in its field, the clear winner.

Pros

Minimal latency, great quality, huge number of people per meeting and so very intuitive.
It's reasonably priced, and no one I have ever communicated with has struggled with setup.

Cons

I really can't fault Skype for Business; it's cheap, reliable and easy to use. What more can you want?

Good for Windows..Flaky on Mac

Pros

Very good voice clarity, chat options, conferencing, free calling, etc. Specially designed for Windows but in Mac sometimes getting authorization issue.

Cons

Sometimes we have to change the mic manually by clicking a phone button. It doesn't help me when I have to join a meeting and start talking. Would be good if the option is directly provided near the call button.

Best way to collaborate with customers and employees

Pros

We use Skype on a daily business to communicate with our client base. Video and Chat feature are seemless and we would lose productiviyt without using it.

Cons

Constant updates seem to hurt performance over time. We've had issues with mobile devices and desktop applications syncing.

Can get better!

I feel Skype is a great software and really widely used. If it fixes some of the glitches. It would be the most popular communication place ever.

Pros

User friendly, commonly known, constant upgrades.

Cons

Communication can be difficult at times. The mike and speaker may not co-operate at times. I had to cancel or postpone meetings a couple of times in the past due to these issues.

Skype - the best solution for video conferencing.

Pros

I work in a small team, and we have been using Skype for a Business version for 2 years already. I like how easily this product changed our communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients. Thanks to good integration with the Office 365 and Outlook and Outlook Calendar applications, we regularly schedule time for holding our video conferences. The quality of communication is always much better than through mobile communication. I can confidently say that Skype is the best solution for video calls at the moment.

Cons

I do not like the new interface, it has become not as convenient as it was before, it has become confusing. Sometimes there is a decrease in the quality of video calls, Skype is very picky about the quality of communication.

Skype for Business Review

We use Skype for Business within our organization for the past 3+ years. It is used for all in-house communications, calling and face time calls. The product functions really well for it's intended purpose. The ability to add photos to names is very useful, since a lot of times, we are communicating with people we have not met. Easy to keep groups separate, have favorites that you communicate with more frequently.

Pros

Easy format for communicating with fellow employees, options for calling or video chatting and availability of calendar within the app for ease of scheduling.

Cons

Not the easiest way to call contacts. We have had issues with the calling functionality.

Not the best communication tool . . . or the worst

If you're considering using Skype for business, think hard about what you're truly trying to accomplish. Do you need real-time messaging? There may be better options out there. Do you need crystal clear audio and video? Probably not a bad choice. However, if you need an all-around communications hub, Skype is quite universal.

Pros

Skype for Business is installed on many machines, making it easy for business users to utilize the platform for communication. While it does offer some innate cool features, smaller competitors are popping up on a regular basis who do specific pieces of the communication much more effectively.

Cons

It's Microsoft. :) There are ongoing issues with connectivity, some things that should be incredibly intuitive end up taking longer than expected or having many more clicks than they truly need to be useful. Overall, it can be a bit clunky.

Cons

I think this is the best solution on the market at the moment

Pros

In our work, we use Skype for video conferences with colleagues, communication with our clients. Skype gave us the opportunity to save money on long journeys for meetings, it allows us to save time and always be aware of all the new developments. I recommend using Skype since communication with customers is the most important part of any business. This program has all the features to ensure simple and high-quality communication through calls and video chats. Thanks to good integration with Office 365, our company makes it easy for you to meet meetings through Outlook.

Cons

I don’t like the new interface, it’s not as convenient as it was in previous versions, and I’m getting used to it for a long time, and I don’t like the presence of a lot of advertising.

Pros

I love that I am able to use this to contact people around the globe. The visible feature works perfectly for teaching violin lessons!

Cons

Sometimes, due to poor connections on my end or theirs, the video breaks up or freezes. However, this is usually our fault.

It works very well, but I've found another solution I enjoy more

Pros

It does what's needed, and efficiently. It's also is certainly better than most other chat software which is available on the market.

Cons

It's not so much that I liked something very little, it was more-so that I found Slack.
