- 3 stars: 7 reviews (7%)
- 2 stars: 3 reviews (3%)

### Most mentioned pros

- I have used it for creating short videos presentations and social media content and the process has been smooth.
- It provides a good balance between simplicity and useful editing features.
- I love that you can change the file type of a video with this software.

### Most mentioned cons

- The element about clipchamp I liked the least is that it takes hours to finish one product and a lot of the stuff is payed.
- I mean you do simple animation like this even in power point presentations. But here this functionality doesn't exist and it is sad, because the only way to move elements around is by doing some workaround with transition from a blank image to your image and hope it covers the movement you want to make.
- The other most devastating experience is when your pictures disappear because you haven't gone to the paid Premium version where there is a picture back up and this does not happen.

Its a browser based built in most windows systems. It is owned by Microsoft. I explored and used this software when i first got my hands on my new laptop. It is a very good user friendly interface for beginners. You can create unlimited videos and incorporate stock images as well but it has limited features.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

It is built in most of the windows systems . It is a free quick video editing where you can do your basic editing like adding music, adding different pictures and video clips for yourself. You get plenty of templates , music choices to choose from if you are using any video editing software for the first time

#### Cons

You cant do some important basic operations like increasing the brightness , exposure etc. You will have to buy a premium version later to get rid of watermark ,to access some premium features like a few transitions , music choices and more.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

Had to give it a try since it was a built in software in my laptop. It offered free features so i used to do some beginner basic editing quickly without every having issues with the interface or exporting

### Small, Free, Fast, but maybe you need more.

I am a graphic designer and I make posters for my clients, some times they ask me for animated versions to use in their social media pages, but for those to be profitable I need to have a fast turnaround with minimal times spent on creating that video. Here is where I found out about Clipchamp, I export 4-5 elements from my poster design and the poster itself and with a bit of clever usage of transitions I animate them to make something nice but fast. And here comes the problem, there are not much you can do with your elements, let's say you import a static png, you know what would be very cool? To animate it, in a simple way like making it move from place A to B! Pretty simple right? I mean you do simple animation like this even in power point presentations. But here this functionality doesn't exist and it is sad, because the only way to move elements around is by doing some workaround with transition from a blank image to your image and hope it covers the movement you want to make. In general there could be a lot more tools that could make it great without making it difficult. I don't expect Resolve, but come one... look at CapCut, this is how you do it right.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Easy to create simple reels or stories or simple videos without much fanfare.

#### Cons

It leaves a lot to be desired, even for a simple video app.

#### Reasons for choosing Clipchamp

I wanted something simple, for simple videos. Resolve is way too advanced for what I needed to do.

I have used it recently to edit multiple videos for work. It's very robust for a bundled package. Was able to use both still photos and videos, easily convert color to black and white, supplement or replace audio tracks, add text, etc. Does most of what I want in a video editor, with the exception of credits.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Extremely easy to use, variety of transitions, easily edit clips or replace soundtracks.

#### Cons

Lack of rolling credits. Appears to have been an option in the past but was not an option when I used.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

Cost versus a bundled program I was already paying for as part of Windows

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

I really like how it is not punishing if you do not pay for it. The free version is really nice to use and there are not too many paywalls.

#### Cons

There are some features missing like being able to move things and also being able to rotate items to a specific degree. Shake should also be added as an effect.

#### Reasons for choosing Clipchamp

It was free and actually worth my time. Also, I think of Microsoft to be a more credible brand than Apple.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

DaVinci Resolve was really complicated. Sadly it has all of the features I like. :(

I've been using a MacBook for many years and doing all my video editing on Imovie. It was pretty simple and useful for me. Then I changed my computer and now I'm using Windows. I couldn't find an alternative for Imovie for Windows. I was so happy when I met Clipchamp that it provided me with more than even Imovie. Moreover, you can even use it from the browser and it has a very accessible interface! I tried a lot of tools until I met Clipchamp, but none of them was this easy, efficient or cost-effective. Good luck Clipchamp!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Clipchamp really saved my life. I have video editing works that are very simple but not amateurish. Especially for how-to videos of our product, I take a lot of screen recording, speed up videos, and trim or merge them. These are simple operations, but many products on the market add watermarks to your videos even for these operations. I am pleased with Clipchamp's free plan. It meets everything I need!

#### Cons

I am using the free plan and I am very satisfied, I do not have any negative comments. It would be nice to display all the videos in a better and more organized way just on your dashboard. This way is a little complicated. But it's okay, it's worth it.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

There's no watermark for the free plan! It's perfect

My overall experience using Clipchamp was good. I will give it around 4.3 stars out of 5. Except for the above-mentioned things, I love its every feature, be it Watermark free, Remove gaps in clips, changing orientation in the middle of the editing, etc.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I have been using Microsoft Clipchamp for more than 6 months. During this journey, I liked its simple UI and ease of use. One of the most loved features of this app is WATERMARK FREE EXPORT, I love it. I also like its REMOVE THE GAPS BETWEEN VIDEO CLIPS feature a lot. Its pricing is also much less as compared to another similar kind of applications. Yeah, it's Value for money.

#### Cons

I think everything is good except for the number of templates it provides. It's much less as compared to its other competitors. Also, in the free plan, we are not able to content backup which is a con. It must be there in the Free plan.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

Canva is best in graphic designing but I will give it 2.5/5 in editing Video. It is of no use. It is difficult to use it and edit a video in it.

### Review for Clipchamp

Overall, it is a great and easy experience. I use Clipchamp mainly to make quick videos so I do not have to download an actual application.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

What I like most about the software is the dark theme and the overall design that Clipchamp provides (only within the editor). Personally, I felt productive at the beginning and many of the expected behaviour turned out to be what I expected. For example, the "add video field" seems like it is a drag and drop box, and it really is, which really gave me a good experience, first impression and good start to the project that I am working on. The second thing I really like is the easy navigation on the left panel. With the texts and icons, it's a clear indicator to navigate through places. On top of that, the star icon clearly indicates that you can only use this if you have paid premium.

#### Cons

There's nothing much to dislike about the software. However, one thing is that Clipchamp only offers up to 480p for free users and the other day I looked up alternatives such as Kapwig, a very similar concept, they allow free videos to render up to 720p. But I totally understand that but it could be a better marketing strategy to gain more users with 720p and then slowly ramp that up. I might be wrong but I am pretty sure that are ways to measure success for it. Also, one thing is that I realise the render speed for Kapwig is a lot faster compared to clipchamp. However, that was a month ago and Clipchamp might have software updates to improve this.

#### Reasons for choosing Clipchamp

There were some templates that clipchamp offers that they don't have. To be really honest, I find Kapwig a lot more user friendly and the experience was smoother. I couldn't explain why, maybe psychology, their theme feels more like "kids-play" hence easier to use? Sorry if my feedback given wasn't too constructive. Thanks!

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

As mentioned above, quick, easy and less complex.

Climpchamp has been a wonderful discovery for me and my team. It offers really great features, is absolutely easy to learn and doesn't require much teaching. The user interface is also neatly designed for optimal user experience. We have loved using Clipchamp greatly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The most useful characteristic of Clipchamp is how easy it is to learn and use. Being accessible online also means that I get to carry my work along with me everywhere I go, and not worry about files taking up local storage space on multiple devices.

#### Cons

A few more effects for scene transitioning and more options for background music would be really great additions.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

Shorter learning time, and I don't have to coach our volunteers through the process anymore.

#### Pros

Software like this convinces me that the future of video editing is in the cloud. Clipchamp brings the traditional non-linear video editing timeline into a space that can be easily accessed from any computer, regardless of specifications or operating system. The possibilities here are immense, in terms of accessibility, processing power and collaboration.

#### Cons

There are still many features to be added to this cloud editing ecosystem that have been present in offline editors (Premiere, Avid, Vegas) for years. These things should come with time.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

I found Clipchamp's pricing structure to suit me slightly better. In terms of feature set, the two services are relatively head to head.

Overall, Clipchamp has been very useful to me, and I like it very much, because since the first time I opened the app, I knew how to use it due to its interface (it’s easy to use). I love that it has a lot of tools for decorating your videos, like filters, texts,

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5

#### Pros

I liked everything about Clipchamp. Is one of the best editing apps I’ve tried, because it has so much tools for creating indredible videos, and one of the most important things, is easy to use. The interface has tools that are very easy to recognize, which is what makes it more bearable for everyone, even those who have never edited!

#### Cons

The only thing that I didn’t like that much, is that even paying the Microsoft license, you have to pay for another “VIP” tools at the app, and I don’t think that’s much fair. But you can easily use the app paying the Microsoft license which includes other platforms like Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, etc.

#### Cons

No live immediate customer service that you can speak with or even chat with to resolve vital editing functioning issues or any issues for that matter. The editing tool is horrible. It will Flicker, get's stuck, it has to be relaunched quite often. on the upgraded for 11.99 they have copywriten music there and you don't know it until you upload your youtube video the music is copywritten. preventing you form monetizing fully. ### A Basic Video Editing tool

Overall, great basic video editing tool. Good at handling short video formats but you may have trouble editing longer projects. Greatly recommend to people needing a video editing tool that can run on most computers (especially Chromebooks)but don't recommend for professionals looking for features that allow for minute control over the video or animations etc.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

As a browser video editing tool being able to edit videos with basic effects and overlays is great excellent for short projects with little editing needed or for home projects. It is fairly intuitive to use but does require a good Wi-Fi connection to make the best use out of it. The timeline was easy to scrub through and from my experience computer hardware was not an issue at all (I could run it on a basic laptop pretty easily). With that in mind, this may be a useful tool for people using Chromebooks.

#### Cons

Being a subscription model software, I would not recommend it to anyone who will not be using it regularly. In terms of cost, it is a lot cheaper than other video editing tools if you don't account for the recurring subscription costs. If you are using it for one or two projects, subscription cancellation is fairly easy so subscribing for one or two months is not an issue. A major downside to this service/software is that it is entirely online so you need to upload all the assets you need and there is no offline editing capabilities. There is also limited features. Don't expect this to have the same functionality as something like premier pro. It features are quite basic.

Overall Clipchamp has been my go-to for video editing for the past few months and I believe it will be the same for the following months to come as well. The software is not slow comparing to online-video software and is even easier to use!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like the most about Clipchamp is that it's fast to use. The problem with online video-editing tools is that they're always slow so I always come back to Adobe Premiere Pro. Not this time thanks to Clipchamp, this software is a gem.

#### Cons

1 thing that I don't like is the impossibility to change the color of the image background that they offer as templates. Other than that, it's perfect for me.

### Clipchamp is great for small businesses. I would recommend it to my friends.

Overall the experience has been good with Clipchamp. We have been uploading videos to Instagram and Facebook and have had comments on the good production which we often tell them it is with clip champ.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I liked how easy it was to sign up to the program. Often I have trouble with multiple accounts and email addresses but it seemed easy enough on Clipchamp. The most used feature for my business is the mobile upload as we often take videos on the ground and I want my employees to always be capturing footage. They don't mind when they know it is easy enough to get uploaded to our program for future editing.

#### Cons

I think they could improve on the pricing. Maybe some discounted tiers for smaller businesses. Although as we increase the volume of our videos maybe we will consider a higher tier. If there was a free version where you could export in a higher res that would be good, in the free trial we didn't really know what we were going to get.

Overall it's a great software for making quick videos for small screen uses (social media, website, etc.) if you don't want to go to the trouble of learning Adobe products (or invest that type of budget).

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I liked that it is pretty simple and easy to learn how to use quickly. The templates are great because you have a storyboard structure to get you started then you change it up as needed. The stock image and video pool is also extensive and high quality. It's also nice that it's completely functional as a web app and doesn't require downloading anything extra onto your computer.

#### Cons

The only real downside I found was that there were regular issues rendering the final files when you import your own footage instead of using the stock footage. Considering this, it's better to rely on if you're using primarily their pre-uploaded assets.

#### Reasons for switching to Clipchamp

iMovie was too buggy and kept crashing on me.

There were times that I had to start over because the audio lagged or wouldn't line up properly with the video media I had added to it. This may have been a user error on my part.
