I was working on an edit on V12, which is fine for the little work I do, and I kept getting messages to upgrade to v13. I have a "perpetual" License and they didn't say there was a charge for the upgrade so I clicked "Upgrade" HUGE mistake. Once you click that button you can't get out of it without paying the ransom. I decided to try it out, because it was now downloaded anyway only to discover that at the end, it will add a watermark unless you buy. I was considering it before I finished, but the fact that the free version is like this means that there are probably other hidden things in it that I haven't researched since I was tricked into using it in the first place.
