# Loom User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.7/5
- Total reviews: 529

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.7/5
- Customer support: 4.4/5
- Value for money: 4.5/5
- Functionality: 4.5/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 394 reviews (74%)
- 4 stars: 111 reviews (21%)
- 3 stars: 9 reviews (2%)
- 2 stars: 4 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 11 reviews (2%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It’s a simple tool that saves time, improves clarity, and makes async communication feel more natural—especially for explaining bugs, product flows, or status updates. While organization and light editing could be smoother, it’s still one of the most effective tools I’ve used for quick, clear communication.
- Screen capture quality is crisp, the editor is simple for trims, and the AI features (summaries, titles, and chapters) save real time when I’m sending demos to clients or explaining tasks to my team.
- It saves time by reducing unnecessary meetings and helps keep remote teams connected. While it’s not meant for high-end video editing, it excels at what it’s designed for—fast, clear, and personal communication through short videos.

### Most mentioned cons

- After the Atlassian acquisition, it also became really difficult to find answers in the support documentation without getting lost in a sea of Atlassian articles that just tried to sell enterprise-style packages.
- My subscription recently renewed for a second month, and despite the fact that I haven't recorded a single video since the renewal, they are refusing to issue a refund.
- I’ve hit an occasional hiccup with uploads on spotty Wi-Fi, and organization can get messy if your workspace grows without naming rules or folders.

### Great Reliable screen recorder, but low free limits and an ever increasing paid version price.

- Overall rating: 4/5

Great product for ease of use and for just getting a quick video to a client, but it really has gotten pricey in the last few years.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Loom has great resolution and it is extremely easy to use. It just works whenever you need to make client videos. Simpler than OBS studio to use and send to clients.

#### Cons

The 5 minute max video recording limit on the free plan makes it much harder to tell others to use it. It has also now gone up for the free plan from $8 to $18 which really is almost unaffordable for just a quick 10 minute video. I am totally fine with the 25 recording max amount of videos, but the 5 minutes is really not usable so you are almost required to go to a paid plan.

My overall experience has been very positive. I used loom for a big project where i had to make almost 1500 videos from scratch and loom helped me in making all of those. Its built in AI features like auto captions, auto titles ,summary helped me a lot in doing my work effectively.I used used the option to add links extensively.

#### Cons

If you mess up your recording you have to start from the beginning. There is no option to keep continuing after dinner point of time

#### Reasons for choosing Loom

Because of it's price and ease of use. Also it could be deployed easily

#### Reasons for switching to Loom

They were kind of outdated and we had been using them for long time wanted to try something new

Its been amazing. As soon as you are done recording you have a copied link that you can quickly send to someone else. Its also really intuitive and takes very little or no training.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

Its free FOREVER for educators. BUT its not an inferior product. Its an amazing product that we would probably pay for if it wasn't free.

#### Cons

Out of all my tools on my Mac, I feel like this updates all the time. Not bad by any means, outside of a very slight inconvenience.

Loom proved to be a very practical tool for recording and sharing videos quickly. It allows concepts to be explained or information to be presented in a clear and visual way.

#### Cons

### Loom review

- Overall rating: 4/5

- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Information Technology and Services

My experience with Loom has been very positive. It’s a simple tool that saves time, improves clarity, and makes async communication feel more natural—especially for explaining bugs, product flows, or status updates. While organization and light editing could be smoother, it’s still one of the most effective tools I’ve used for quick, clear communication.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It lets me explain something without needing to schedule time with someone. It’s great for walkthroughs, quick demos, and giving feedback because the message lands with context—people can see exactly what I’m referring to. I also like that it’s easy to share and revisit later, so the same recording can help multiple people without repeating myself.

#### Cons

One downside is that recordings can get scattered over time unless there’s a consistent way to organize them, so finding “that one video” later can take effort. Also, editing is helpful but still a bit time-consuming if you want a really polished outcome—sometimes it’s easier to re-record than to fine-tune a longer clip.

### Excellent Tool But No Longer for Small Businesses

- Overall rating: 4/5
- Reviewer: Stephanie P.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: E-Learning
- Company size: Self-Employed
- Product usage: Used weekly for more than 2 years
- Reviewed: April 2026
- Review source details: This review was submitted organically. No incentive was offered

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Loom makes it really easy to record high-quality videos, both with just video and with a small video overlay over a screen recording. The built-in editor makes it super simple to polish videos, and sharing via link makes it easy to share videos with coworkers and clients and track engagement.

#### Cons

The pricing has increased over the years, and more features continue to be hidden behind tiered paywalls. After the Atlassian acquisition, it also became really difficult to find answers in the support documentation without getting lost in a sea of Atlassian articles that just tried to sell enterprise-style packages. What was once an innovative and super streamlined tool that could be used in business and education has now been affected by the enterprise SaaS bloat.

I've saved countless hours of meetings thanks to Loom! I feel like Loom is an essential part of modern remote work culture.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Loom is a fantastic asynchronous work tool. I like the interface, the AI-powered features, the easy sharing and editing options, and the embedding in email, Docs and various other tools.

#### Cons

I feel like Loom is a bit aggressive when it comes to pushing its premium features. Those growth hacks, or whatever you call them, are visible everywhere and often interfere with the interface.

In my opinion, this is the easiest screen recording software to use. You can use either the extension or the app, edit before exporting, and there’s a free version that lets you make up to 25 videos.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5

#### Pros

I can record just a specific window or your whole screen. It also lets me edit right on the site to cut out pauses before downloading

#### Cons

The free version doesn’t let use it for very long. The shortcoming is that I could only record 5-minute videos.

### Fantastic tool that saves a lot of time in my role

- Product usage: Used monthly for less than 2 years
- Reviewed: September 2025
- Review source details: This reviewer was invited by us to submit an honest review and offered a nominal incentive as a thank you.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Loom is fantastic, it saves me and my team so much time that would otherwise have been spent in meetings. It is easy to use, simple to control exactly how much of your screen you want to record, and allows for basic editing to fine tune what you want to share. I regularly have to walk people through how to use certain tools in my team, and I love that I can simply record one Loom video and share it with people over and over again, instead of having to book walkthrough meetings repeatedly.

#### Cons

The AI powered titles and summaries can be quite far off the reality sometimes, but that's a fairly new feature which I'm sure will improve with time. I do find that the record button sometimes has a bug and needs to be clicked multiple times before the record options actually pop up.

#### Pros

It’s practical to create easy tutorials and share them. It gives 3 videos in the free plan, an editor if needed to make some cuts.

#### Cons

### Loom is a must have tool for a remote first scale up

Loom was easily adopted across the organisation with people enjoying the UX/UI and ease to generate high quality content. Loom is riding the way of video content crucial for internal and external alignment as you scale.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Loom is such an incredibly easy tool to use across the company. We've used a few solutions in the past including slack recordings and clickup but truthfully, Loom has far more powerful capabilities via their rich feature set. Instant embed is a huge feature for us enabling you to simply copy and paste a link. The ability to measure insights and analytics on videos is important given we use Loom for external business development. In addition, the ability to tag others in a video, comment and engage supercharges your ability to work seamlessly across timezones. We have employees all over the world so it's crucial.

#### Cons

The biggest challenge was whether we actually choose a dedicated video platform (additional charges + additional learning internally and yet another tool). ClickUp is getting far more sophisticated with recordings and of course, you want to consolidate as much as you possibly can. In saying that, in the end, Loom is too good and we decided to use alongside other tools.
