No incentive was offered Pictory is part of the overall package of programs I use to create videos. I start with Pictory to get the base slide graphics, animated graphics and on-screen titles. I use HeyGen to create the talking-head spokesman videos. Then I bring everything together using Wondershare Filmora which has really gotten very sophisticated for the low cost. I supplement the presentation with graphics and additional video from Canva. It's a dynamite combination. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 4/5 #### Pros You just paste your script and it selects the videos and the music. There is a TON of high-quality music and videos to choose from, and it's all included in the program which sells at a very affordable price. #### Cons It's doesn't create "talking head" videos. By that I mean having an AI-generated spokesperson reading the script. That would be the only thing I would like to see added. #### Reasons for choosing Pictory I still use HeyGen and Canva, but they are supplemental to Pictory. HumanPal was too fake looking, also tried Reals.ai, Yepic and others. I like the speed, wide range of music and top-quality graphics, animations and videos on Pictory. #### Reasons for switching to Pictory Pictory is more affordable month-to-month. They add appropriate video segments with captions from your story or articles. They add the music automatically, but you can choose something different if you wish. After I bought a subscription, I cannot log in at all! It keeps saying, "Subscription not found." I tried to contact support and they have NOT been helpful at all. They take your money but don't give you any support. I don't need an Otter.ai subscription anymore or a Descript subscription. It fills those gaps. It also has an AI video creator that lets me create many videos for social media based on my existing blog content. #### Cons I wish there was more control in the Script to Video portion of the program to edit the subtitles. As an example, it could decide to put "The Weber BBQ grill is the best on the market. We thought that it..." on one line. I might want to split it at the period and put the "We thought that it..." on the next line, but it's very time-consuming to do this now. The other thing I think needs improvement is a voiceover for the entire video and not just on a scene-by-scene basis. We needed several new product marketing videos turned around fast and with a limited budget and effort. Pictory got us about 90% of the way there fairly easily and quickly. It gave us a great approach to bringing words to life so, we're hooked. If you have a big budget, this isn't for you, and the quality of your video will depend on you, it's garbage in, garbage out. If your sense of taste is all in your mouth, you'll probably want to get someone else to use this for you. I recently saw a truly horrific promo webinar that used it where it had no artistic sense. I have a new YouTube Channel called "Poetry in Motion" (see link below). So far, I have created 88 YouTube videos and YouTube shorts that "bring to life" some of the many poems I have written. I started this channel about 4 weeks ago, and already I have over 17,000 subscribers. I love the number of videos that I have to choose from in your video library, and the choices of background music are awesome. Your AI voice library is great, but I do wish you offered more Eleven Labs options. #### Cons There seem to be some "bugs" in the logic that controls frame lengths. When I make a change to the length of a given frame, the software seems to change the length of other frames. Also, when I position the cursor on a given frame, and then go to the video library to select a scene, the position of the frame I originally selected is changed to another frame. Easy to use for uploading and using my own voice over tracks. #### Cons Sometimes the clips the system brings in are just not right. Then it takes some time to change out the clips before creating the video. I had a few issues to start with and the response time to my emails was slow. The UI is very intuitive and easy to use. Pictory selected a wide range of clips that aligned with my text, and these were most often usable without changes. If you're looking for a simple way to create videos, without learning high-end production software, Pictory is the best option I've found. #### Cons The AI generated voices were better than some, but I felt it was obvious that they were AI. This won't work in my particular environment, so I uploaded my own audio. With pictory, this can all be one within their platform. They system is also user friendly and easy to use. #### Cons The only thing (and this is being picky) is I may from time to time have to change some of the animation.
