Google Drive Software

Google Drive helps users store company data in one place. Users can access files from desktop and mobile devices and control how team members share these files. The platform provides a central admin panel, data-loss prevention and a vault for the drive to ensure compliance and file sharing between users.

Google Drive stores teams’ work in a shared workspace. Teams own new files added to the drive, so that all members stay updated with the latest files. It includes machine-learning technology to help users predict future needs. Google Drive provides features like a natural-language search and optical character recognition (OCR).

Google Drive integrates with third-party applications including DocuSign for e-signatures, CloudLock for additional security layers and LucidCharts for mockups. Users can open different file types like PDFs and MPEG4s, and they can work on Microsoft Word files straight from the drive. Pricing is per month. Support is provided via online chat, email and the phone.

I would recommend more businesses leave Outlook and go to Gmail and use the google drive!

Pros

Since not all of our employees are in 1 building, the google drive makes it so easy to share files and documents. The fact that you can download the document into excel you can save it into any type of file you need (Tab, CSV, Ect.) it makes it easier than emailing them and getting limited by size restrictions. I like the fact that you can send videos and other types of files as well and access them anywhere and you can give certain people access to edit the document if needed. Our managers can even download the app on their phone and view the needed files if they are out in the field. When we were on Outlook, we didn't have any of these options so this has been a great change for us.

Cons

I wish that you could change the owner of a file, for example if an employee is no longer working at your company there is no way to change the owner without creating a whole new document. It would be nice if you could customize the background and colors like you can do in Gmail, but it isn't that big of a deal. I also wish the program would prompt people to download it as the correct file type before they print it. Or print it exactly like the original version would have. Its also a con that people can access it from anywhere in certain instances, but that isn't that big of a deal

Easy to save files to. Easy to download files from it. Can be installed on mobile devices to access files on the go.

After 5+ years of use, I have not found any negative attributes of the software yet. The only thing that is questionable is: how safe are these files from hackers?

I really like this software because it allows me to keep my mobile device and my computer faster because it is extremely good at archiving my photos and videos in the cloud, making it have more space and a greater performance for the platform.

Cons

Google Drive archives my photos and videos authoritatively and does not allow select which ones I want to archive, on the other hand it's a bit slow and I The security of the platform is preoccupied.

Pros

We use Google Drive when collaborating with external users (architects, other designers) and have to share a large number or files, or files that have large sizes (.dwg files, multi-page layered pdfs). Google Drive is easy to invite users and upload files to.

Cons

The feature set isn't as rich as other file collaboration programs (e.g. Dropbox, Box), and there is no desktop version of the application.

Pros

What I like most about Google Drive is that I can store my files online and that's great, since I free space on my device and that allows me to be faster and can store more files. This software has allowed me to perform, All movements of storage change in a fast way, it is very useful and I recommend it because it is very good.

Cons

What I do not like about Google Drive I think it would be their designs since they seem very boring and very old-fashioned, I think they should add updates constantly for this to improve since the presentation of a software also influences enough when choosing it.

Pros

Google Drive offers the possibility of accessing a platform where you can share files through a link, a good way to replace those old techniques from where they used Pendrive or CD, now it is easier and you do not need to move from the workplace.

Cons

The problem with Google Drive is in the little storage space that it offers to users that are free of charge, I think that they should offer more space for users to see what is possible to store with Google Drive and they are encouraged to buy a Membership

Pros

The best thing that Google Drive has, is definitely the storage space it offers and the speed to upload files, it has never found a platform as fast as it is Google Drive, and it uses very little bandwidth. Google Drive is economical and supplements every storage.

Cons

I do not like the design of Google Drive, I think that this should be an application that is outside of Google, to have a better autonomy and better management, and also should change their colors so that it is not so boring.

Integrates well into company google run emails so sharing large files is a breeze.

Pros

Easy to sink my PC and iphone with the same doc, pictures and files. Easy to ad other members of the team to collaborate.

Cons

If my email password gets hacked, someone can have access to all the files that I have and am shared with on company Drive -which is a security issue. Network Admins installed double authentication for that reason - which is a pain.

Google Drive ensures data storage in the cloud and is good for beginners

Pros

This is the best free version software that you can get just with your google signup. The features are really great with a real-time view experience and could be shared with peers.

Cons

You get only 15 GB space to store for the free version which restricts huge data storage. The layout of the software is very basic and needs upgrades and improvements.

Google Drive is completely integrated with all of the Google Suite programs so it's a seamless transition from one program to another. Sharing files and folders is fast, easy, and customized for each user. It's free for personal use and they offer good prices for companies/users that require more storage space. You can access Drive through your web browser or download the free desktop app Drive File Stream.

Cons

Ease-of-use

Value for Money

Pros

Best pro for Google drive is does provide you enough space which you can use for your school/ college work. But for professionals like me, i needed to pay for space. Which i paid and i like i can access it anywhere on the go. Also, the accessibility is good, as it is directly connected to your gmail and once you logged in and trying to fetch some data you will be able to do it. UI of Google drive is ok ok i am really not a fan of it. But if someone ask me to refer i would suggest to have your own experience.

Cons

Well, i don't like exact data on my computer. Because i don't remember, however i do de-clutter and even after de-cluttering it doesn't fulfill my use case. Also, if share data with someone i am not able to find the persons data easily then again i need to go on searching spree.

Our practice uses Google Docs for so much. It's so easy to share any and all files with the staff upfront or the doctors. We can even have chats and joint to do lists which are saved in Google's system.

Pros

Allows you to make or store files of many types, can sort everything into folders, you can give or revoke permissions to your files, you can do surveys which populate to spreadsheets

Cons

You can't password protect a file directly, there isn't very much "how to", the only option for results of a form is the spreadsheet or a tab on the form where all responses are saved vs being able to access each entry individually in a file

Pros

I am very satisfied with google drive.

Pros

-Initially google drive gives you 15Gb of free storage
-After using up the 15GB of storage, purchasing of additional storage is very affordable and flexible. (You can pay monthly or annually)
-You are able to organize all your files with great ease
-Accessible on any device - phone, tablet, computer, desktop (Once you can log into gmail, you can get access to google drive)
-File sharing is very straightforward and allows you to chose whether or not the recipient can only view or they can edit the file as well
-You can backup all your devices to one place - making switching devices and retrieving your personal files an ease

Cons

-It would be nice if the initial free storage could be upgraded to at least double the 15GB provided

Google Drive moves well beyond simple cloud storage, though, with its integrated Google Docs office suite. Google Docs is a browser-based and includes word processor (Docs), spreadsheet (Sheets) and presentation (Slides) software. The suite, which is free to use, has emerged as direct competitor to Microsoft Office.

Pros

Integrates well with a variety of other Google tools such as Docs, Slides and Sheets. A variety of third party apps have been developed to create a cloud based solution ideal for every business. Users can collaborate on a project, folder or file level with easy to use administrative controls. Security is tight as with any Google product and the base price of an upgrade is very low. The best thing for any user is the free entry level.

Cons

There is a lack of enhanced security features offered by other companies such as private encryption and block level sync. In addition to this users can easily be fooled to share files with permissions turned off for destructive behaviour. Finally, there are cheaper options but these will struggle to compete.

Drive is an excellent substitute to Dropbox and Box as well.

Pros

Though I prefer to use Dropbox, Google Drive also satisfies all my cloud service needs in order to store pictures, important documents, teaching and leisure books, videos, etc.

Cons

The only downside is I believe it is that you have to have a Gmail account to use it, so if someone does not have a Gmail account he has to create one.

Makes creating and collaborating in docs really easy, whether it's a slide deck, spreadsheet, word doc or even google draw doc it's very easy to share important information with your team all from one centralized folder all while choosing permissions as to who has access to those docs. And because everyone uses and are familiar with google products it makes using drive almost a no brainer.

Pros

Collaboration and ease of use. I like that Drive is a web app available to anyone you share it with and within the same ecosystem you can edit and create docs without opening up a different program.

Cons

It's the reality of the world we live in, but I enjoy working in excel much more than google sheets for a number of reasons (more than just being more used to excel), and Drive and the google sweet have pushed me more towards sheets. But I'm not in spreadsheets all day so not a deal breaker.

Pros

I am impressed. All photos and videos as well as documents that I have on the phone are automatically stored in Google Drive. I do not have to think where my documents are. Photos that I completely forgot, Google Drive keeps them and not have to worry. We also use the work to share and save all documents. Very simple software. Nice design. Does not take much time which is very important at work. It can be used by anyone without any training.

Great for teams who need to collaborate on files and where people need access to files from anywhere.
The review and commenting options on files are great.

Cons

It took a while for one of my clients to have it fully set up and running smoothly. There were a few things that didn't seem intuitive like sharing files with people outside of your organisation (or even those who are not part of a folder).
The fact that you can only give permission for top level folders and not for sub folders. It means we ended up creating quite a lot of top level folders when I would have preferred to just have one main folder and then different subfolders within (with different people having access to each).

When sharing a document, it's easy to use, tracks changes by all, accessible to all in a group, and stored on Google Drive.

Pros

Most people have a Google account, but if they don't they can still access a shared document. The share document allows me to track shared data or information that all can access, instead of updating and circulating a document via email attachment. It's easy and less work for all involved.

Cons

If people forget their Google account user name and password, and the don't have a Google email address, they most likely will not set it up again.

Pros

It is pretty simple to set up if you want to sync your computer. If not, well that's easier. I love the ability to share your files in different ways such as the read only or the ability to edit. They give many ways to share with people and I have not had any problems with files trying to get them back onto my computer after a hard drive failure.

Integration and ease of use. It's easy to add, share, attach files, etc. etc.

It's like an all-in-one system. Plus, there are a lot of integrations with other services.

Cons

It is TOO SIMPLE in some regards. Why can't we sort files by file size? Why can't we see file metadata via the web browser version of drive?

They've done some new graphics to polish it up, but Drive should be a direct replacement for Windows.. besides the O/S aspect of Windows, Drive should be just as easy AND just as powerful. Google has dumbed it down; need to be able to read and write all file meta data via Drive.

Also, compatibility. Many enterprises have blocked Google/Drive, so when sharing Google Doc or Sheet, some people tell us they can't open it or don't know how....

Pros

I can get to it from anything device on the internet. Phone, computer, laptop, no matter drive is there and so is the data. Teachers and students can share things without learning complex NTFS permissions. It is tied to mail accounts and user OUs.

Cons

It automatically tries to convert word or excel documents into the Google Suites counterparts. That gets old quickly. Sometimes I just want to store a file folder in drive to backup from my local PC. Stop trying to convert it all the time. I use Microsoft Office as well and don't want the documents converted. I would have made it in Google Docs if I wanted it to be a Google Doc.

Pros

My Google Drive helps me keep my business organized, I'd be lost without it. I can share documents with my clients and they can upload docs and info to share with me.

Cons

I've been using Drive for over a year now - I haven't found anything I dislike about it. It's easy to use and cloud based, so I can use it anywhere.

Easy to use but seems difficult to find files sometimes and knowing dates of files.

Gives me an easy way to store data that I need to access from multiple devices.

Pros

It is cheap and easy to use. I can move files up there and download them instantly to another device.

Cons

Search functionality seems to not always find what I am looking for. It would be nice if it was more like Windows explorer.

I love using Google drive to work remotely with colleagues and to gather info quickly. I use it on a daily basis and have for several years.

Cons

I actually really enjoy using it. There is not really a con that I can think of except for that sometimes it slowly loads.
