AWS DirectConnect to decrease network latency
AWS DirectConnect is a very sophisticated tool for systems requiring private and low latency connection with AWS services. I had the opportunity to maintain the AWS DirectConnect usage in the system and it indeed decreased the latency metrics in the system.
CONSThis is very sophisticated feature that might be replaced with for example Amazon VPC (for privacy requirements). I would rather lean on using this feature for achieving low latency systems.

AWS Direct Connect is high performing
Though it is expensive, they compensate us with the high performance of our connections.
PROSHaving dedicated connectivity ultimately leads to the high performance of this software and it integrates with the other AWS services.
CONSIt is quite expensive than the current hack that we were using before we switched to it.
