### Most mentioned pros

- As a fashion intern, it helped me a lot to stay focused on designing instead of worrying about lost archives or broken attachments.
- solves the problem of complex cloud hosting by making it easy to manage servers with a simple dashboard.
- Easy setup & clean dashboard — launching a server and apps is straightforward.

### Most mentioned cons

- During that period I saw no meaningful improvement in page speed or server response compared to my previous host. Because the service didn’t meet expectations, I cancelled the server after the first month. Despite cancelling, I continued to receive charges on my card.
- The main downside was the lack of root access to the servers they provide, meaning certain simple tasks need to be done by support when I could have easily handled them myself.
- I mistakenly cancelled my account and notified them within 1 hour - Too bad for me. Once you click the account deletion button everything is immediately gone forever and CANNOT be recovered.

Very happy. Support has been very helpful and responsive. Worth the added cost.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It allowed us to deploy cloud hosting servers quickly and easily. It offered a variety of platforms such as Digital Ocean and Vultr. Creating applications was one click and very fast.

#### Cons

The cost. You pay a very high premium for Cloudways to be the middleware between you and the cloud platforms they offer. This ease of use comes with a high pricetag.

#### Reasons for choosing Cloudways

Cloudways offered easier setup and deployment along with management aspects.

As I was facing problems with shared hosting, I started to try VPS. But I found it difficult to implement security and speed optimization. And I was also worried about maintenance. Since my focus shouldn't be on this kind of task, fortunately I found cloudways which made the management of the VPS more easy then a shared hosting.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Easy to use, reliable and affordable. I'm not an expert in server management but it's a fact that having a VPS to host your sites, in terms of performance, it's much better than shared hosting. But the problem is that it it's much harder to manage. And if you don't know about it, you have to learn or pay someone to do it and to maintain. Cloudways makes it all easy and smooth because they do all the process with their own system and you have a great support and visual dashboard for all you need. It's easier than a cPanel, for example.

#### Cons

I have to think a little to say the least thing because it could seem unfair. But I think if you want to scale your server hardware requirements the pricing may be a problem.

#### Reasons for choosing Cloudways

Seemed better then a2 hosting shared solutions and cheaper then WP Engine but with same quality.

#### Reasons for switching to Cloudways

I needed more server resources

#### Cons

The software us perfect only their support are like they are not giving it all of less knowledgeable in assisting us. But the ret is good. The lack of emailing abilities thta creat coat to users because you have to be costed for each email use compare to any other companies.

So far so good, nothing to complain about and a big improvement in comparison with my previous hosting service

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I’m very happy with Cloudways thanks to the very easy and very swift procedure to create an account and deploy a server and its applications (Wordpress in my case, production + staging environments). Real usage performances have been outstanding and without issues so far, even the one of the basic tiers can handle without hiccups my website which counts more than 200 blog posts. Costs are very clearly specified and can be monitored in real time. There is also a one click interface for vertical scalability, should you need more performance (even for a limited time, like a product launch or such). Customer care has been very quick in responding to chat messages within minutes, and proactively solved my issues in no time and with the utmost kindness. There is also a referral program. So far so good!

#### Cons

My only minor complaint is with the Cloudflare add-on, since its technical details are not clearly specified for an advanced CLoudflare user and connoisseur and all in all it’s cheap and works within a few minutes but lacks all kind of customisation and the default configuration is (understandably) quite conservative.

#### Reasons for switching to Cloudways

The 3 days trial made me realise that Cloudways has way better performances for the same price, and everything worked smoothly from the start. The migration was very quick and almost flawless too.

Wish I could share screenshots here - my experience went from being a #1 fan of Cloudways to sharing all over how terrible they are. I run an agency that has relied on their services for years and they have steadily gotten worse month by month. I have screenshots & documentation from as far back as April reporting server issues. Suddenly performance took a nose dive and support keeps applying "optimizations" to the server which actually make it worse. Each screenshot shows one agent make a fix, followed by another that reverses the change saying it was incorrect, followed by the next redoing the change. This cycle has continued for months now and they refuse to do any real investigation.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

It was once a great service - the platform itself is easy to use.

#### Cons

The support and back-end performance. Websites perform terribly, their support system has 0 idea what they are dong when configuring them and often breaks things. They offer no assistance to fix it and leave your server performing terribly.

#### Reasons for switching to Cloudways

Thought it would be a better service and I needed more resources. I was wrong.

### The worst nightmare of a hosting company

My experience with Cloudways was a nightmare. I dealt with 10s of hosting companies and none of them were so careless towards their customers.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

I liked mostly what is not cloudways' pro but rather digitalocean's. The server performance is good.

#### Cons

They have the worst customer care in the industry. They automatically remove server AND public IP only after 48 hours without any prior notifications or anything. They are terrible at communicating such a drastic measure they are taking absolutely disregarding how it'll affect the customer. the IP lease cost only $3.60 month. Even keeping this IP for a month for the services you paid them would only cost $3.60... But they decide to release your IP only after 48... They are that cheap!!

#### Reasons for choosing Cloudways

because they had autoupscale and it seemed really good with it's reviews. But as they say. When it seems too good to be true is because it probably is.

#### Reasons for switching to Cloudways

Because cloudways offered automatic upscaling. Which in reality does not worth the trouble they give you

After 2 years of hard work and hundreds of hours spent building my website they deleted it for an unpaid bill of $13!! I tried adding my new card details onto their system but it would not accept it. I then paid the outstanding amount of $13 but it was still deleted and they did not even back my website up so all is lost! I am furious with them and currently seeking legal advice. Do not use them!!!

I was able to run 2 E-commerce applications on one server with excellent performance. I like how they integrate Email and Cloudways Enterprise CDN into your server solution.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5

#### Pros

I do appreciate the customer service via chat. Usually, they respond in less than 5 min and are able to fix issues, that cause downtime on the website.

#### Cons

some of the administrative options like file and folder permissions can only be accessed through Customer Service. It be nice to be able to get that done by the user.

#### Reasons for choosing Cloudways

you have a dedicated Server VM with good service.

#### Reasons for switching to Cloudways

When Cloudways burst on the hosting scene, they were blazing a trail for low-cost, high performance VPS in a very easy to use package. The industry is catching up, and Cloudways has some solid competitors now. That said, my company has been with Cloudways for 2 years and we're not likely to switch hosting providers anytime soon. They keep releasing new features like staging sites, great deals on CDN and Email via RackSpace. The overall experience is worth sticking around!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Cloudways easy to use interface has been a breath of fresh air over cPanel. Their staging site feature is very handy (especially with E-Commerce sites), and you get great deals on CDN's, email hosting, and referral bonuses. There's lots of pro's to discuss, like in-built server security and caching features that you don't have to manage via command line. You do however, get lots of settings to tweak should you need!

#### Cons

I only have one issue with Cloudways, and that's hit or miss support. Often support agents are very helpful and get to the bottom of your issue, but there are times when it feels like it's the rep's first day on the job. That said, this issue has been happening less and less over time, and I suspect Cloudways got the memo to improve their agent training. Haven't had any reps be rude, knock on wood!

Takes the effort out of web hosting. Not the ultimate fastest stack in the world, but leagues above shared hosting and on par with other managed hosts like MainWP etc. You do pay for the convenience, but if your main business is not server management, it's worth it!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The dashboard is incredibly friendly to use, and has a lot of features. Deep integration with server providers means almost anything you would ever need to do can be handled through the dashboard. Cloning, staging and backups are especially good.

#### Cons

The price is steep, especially for more powerful servers. Basically double the upstream provider cost. Also, cloudways own the server er you use. It is provisioned under their account, not yours. So if you ever leave cloudways you must move server, you can't just disconnect cloudways.

It's not bad. I'm still with them. The value is just too much of an offer to pass up without considering.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

For as long as I can remember, its not been easy to deploy cloud software without having deep knowledge about cloud computing and administration skills. Cloudways takes all those hassles and bundles it into a single web hosing company that provides hosting services from some of the best names in the business. Google, Amazon AWS, Vultr, Linode, and Digital Ocean. I personally use Vultr and its very easy to use and provides great value for the money. Recommended.

#### Cons

With companies like this, there are a lot of issues. Unlike cpanel/shared hosting where I was coming from I never had to pay for custom emails or backups, they always took care of DNS for me too and I didn't have to pay. On Cloudways you have to pay for all of these, even for offsite backups. However cheap, you still have to pay.

#### Cons

Cloudways doesn't actually pay affiliate commission. They just scam you into bringing your clients on board and take your referrals without rewarding. The software tracks fine. I believe it's actually Post Affiliate Pro that Cloudways is using to manage the affiliate program.

#### Reasons for choosing Cloudways

Cloudways Affiliate program offered a hybrid affiliate model

#### Pros

I switched from an AIG owned shared server to this, the pricing is not far off from what I was paying and the benefits of using Cloudways are insane. It's so fast, easy to use, and affordable.

#### Cons

They really need to implement a few things, first, if you have the option to add team members, fix the bug that doesnt allow you to add an existing member of cloudways. I don't want 100 different logins for all my clients. Give me an easy to use dashboard for all of them. Second, add a whitelabel option so I can resell this to clients. Third, make the SMTP setup better, or add an email server to the servers that you sell. 4, customer support is decent at best, compared to Flywheel it is truly lacking.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Cons

I spotted some slow performance from time to time, nothing awful but sometimes annoying. I'm on the lower paid plan anyway...
