Once you click the account deletion button everything is immediately gone forever and CANNOT be recovered. - During that period I saw no meaningful improvement in page speed or server response compared to my previous host. Because the service didn’t meet expectations, I cancelled the server after the first month. Their agents are fast at responding, know exactly how to fix problems that may occur, their pricing is clear and offered as a pay-as-you-go service so you only pay for what you use instead of buying a plan which you may never fill, their servers are easily scalable, they offer a wide variety of different servers to choose from; Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, AWS, VULTR, Linode, and AWS. They also throw in the ability to manage email addresses by using their third party affiliates Rackspace, they offer additional addons for managing DNS with another affiliate DNS Made Easy... basically, you can have everything managed by the Cloudways team so that you can worry less about your servers and hosting, giving you more time and freedom to spend on other matters of your business. So no more typical cPanel to navigate around servers and websites that you host, instead you have their own beautifully laid out, clean, and most importantly *understandable* menu system which is visually eye-pleasing. Simplicity at its best. #### Cons Although they have their live chat where there is always an agent waiting to help 24/7 (which most of the agents can answer your questions and resolve your problems there and then), the only downfall is their ticketing system. If your problem is a little more complexed and requires additional help, a ticket must be opened. The ticketing system can take a day or two to get a reply (which is no good if your website is experiencing problems and is down at that time). #### Reasons for switching to Cloudways The main reason I made the switch from my old host to Cloudways was because of the 24 hour support that Cloudways offer, and I could get a response to any question I may have immediately via live chat instead of waiting a day to be presented with what was often a pointless reply. I also like the simplicity and minimalistic layout of everything on the Cloudways system which simplifies what is usually a mind-boggling task with other hosts system layouts. As I was facing problems with shared hosting, I started to try VPS. But I found it difficult to implement security and speed optimization. And I was also worried about maintenance. I'm not an expert in server management but it's a fact that having a VPS to host your sites, in terms of performance, it's much better than shared hosting. But the problem is that it it's much harder to manage. And if you don't know about it, you have to learn or pay someone to do it and to maintain. Cloudways makes it all easy and smooth because they do all the process with their own system and you have a great support and visual dashboard for all you need. It's easier than a cPanel, for example. #### Cons I have to think a little to say the least thing because it could seem unfair. Real usage performances have been outstanding and without issues so far, even the one of the basic tiers can handle without hiccups my website which counts more than 200 blog posts. Costs are very clearly specified and can be monitored in real time. There is also a one click interface for vertical scalability, should you need more performance (even for a limited time, like a product launch or such). Customer care has been very quick in responding to chat messages within minutes, and proactively solved my issues in no time and with the utmost kindness. There is also a referral program. So far so good! #### Cons My only minor complaint is with the Cloudflare add-on, since its technical details are not clearly specified for an advanced CLoudflare user and connoisseur and all in all it’s cheap and works within a few minutes but lacks all kind of customisation and the default configuration is (understandably) quite conservative. #### Reasons for switching to Cloudways The 3 days trial made me realise that Cloudways has way better performances for the same price, and everything worked smoothly from the start. The server performance is good. #### Cons They have the worst customer care in the industry. They automatically remove server AND public IP only after 48 hours without any prior notifications or anything. They are terrible at communicating such a drastic measure they are taking absolutely disregarding how it'll affect the customer. the IP lease cost only $3.60 month. Even keeping this IP for a month for the services you paid them would only cost $3.60... But they decide to release your IP only after 48... No incentive was offered Wish I could share screenshots here - my experience went from being a #1 fan of Cloudways to sharing all over how terrible they are. I run an agency that has relied on their services for years and they have steadily gotten worse month by month. I have screenshots & documentation from as far back as April reporting server issues. Suddenly performance took a nose dive and support keeps applying "optimizations" to the server which actually make it worse. Each screenshot shows one agent make a fix, followed by another that reverses the change saying it was incorrect, followed by the next redoing the change. When Cloudways burst on the hosting scene, they were blazing a trail for low-cost, high performance VPS in a very easy to use package. The industry is catching up, and Cloudways has some solid competitors now. That said, my company has been with Cloudways for 2 years and we're not likely to switch hosting providers anytime soon. They keep releasing new features like staging sites, great deals on CDN and Email via RackSpace. Their staging site feature is very handy (especially with E-Commerce sites), and you get great deals on CDN's, email hosting, and referral bonuses. There's lots of pro's to discuss, like in-built server security and caching features that you don't have to manage via command line. You do however, get lots of settings to tweak should you need! #### Cons I only have one issue with Cloudways, and that's hit or miss support. Often support agents are very helpful and get to the bottom of your issue, but there are times when it feels like it's the rep's first day on the job. That said, this issue has been happening less and less over time, and I suspect Cloudways got the memo to improve their agent training. It could almost count as very good if not for the very poor customer service experience. #### Cons The customer experiences me and my co-worker got from support from a guy named [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], was simply horrible. His attitude was very arrogant and impatient. He wrote us off with a "It's a dns propagation problem, wait a few hours and it should be ok" excuse, even though we tried to tell him couple of times, to no avail, that the dns was'nt tampered with for a long time. When I did an nslookup from my computer it resloved without a problem. When I asked Mr [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] to please do an nslookup on his side, he repeated his annyoing reply: "I can understand it is showing in NS lookup but still the concern is domain isn't propagated Worldwide so please check your site after a few hours your concern hopefully resolved." "Please don't worry, just wait, as I have stated many times above your site will be up again once DNS propagated Worldwide" The bad part in all of this story is that we were trying to resolve a crash on an ecommerce website of one of our clients. We chose cloudways for their reputation, and left hanging without any help or permissions to do the things needed to try and fix this. This is absolutly unacceptable and a hurrible customer service, one of the worst that I ever got online. Would not reccomend cloudways to anyone. They just scam you into bringing your clients on board and take your referrals without rewarding. The software tracks fine. It's so fast, easy to use, and affordable. #### Cons They really need to implement a few things, first, if you have the option to add team members, fix the bug that doesnt allow you to add an existing member of cloudways. I don't want 100 different logins for all my clients. Give me an easy to use dashboard for all of them. Second, add a whitelabel option so I can resell this to clients. Well, almost anything. The nice thing also is having a choice between hosting like Digital Ocean or AWS, Azure, etc. #### Cons Like all awesome, modern things, when it hits a snag it is really frustrating.
