### About Inuvika OVD Enterprise

Looking for a cost effective alternative to Citrix or VMware Horizon (Omnissa)?

Inuvika OVD Enterprise is a feature rich product that delivers Windows and Linux apps and desktops to any device.

OVD Enterprise is built on Linux. With our resource containerization technology, our product allows data centers to run more efficiently, using far less infrastructure capacity.

Inuvika OVD can be installed on premises, in private or public cloud, or in a hybrid environment. It is also offered by our worldwide hosting partner network as a DaaS offering.

Inuvika OVD works on any hypervisor including ProxmoxVE, KVM, Nutanix AHV, vSphere, VergeOS, Virtuozzo or Hyper-V.  It can be installed in hours as opposed to days for other products.

We have lowered the total cost of ownership by up to 60% when compared to Citrix or VMware (Omnissa). We do this three ways:

1. The Linux back-end allows OVD Enterprise to eliminate most Windows server license requirements as well as Microsoft SQL Server license costs.  You will still need RDS CALs.

2. Our efficient design allows us to pack more users onto a server (up to twice as many, depending on the type of user); and

3. Our subscription pri...

ces are significantly lower and on a concurrent user basis allowing for significant savings over named user licenses at Citrix, Horizon or AVD. A single, easy to use admin console allows you to be an expert in a matter of hours. Complex tasks like multi-tenancy are just a click of a button. Best in class USB redirection allow you to replace desktops with thin clients. Inuvika embraces the zero-trust principle. So it is a perfect product for hybrid work environments. Our product is used by enterprise, government, healthcare, education, financial and telco customers around the world. I have nothing but great things to say about our interactions with Inuvika in general. Incredibly powerful platform, excellent and knowledgeable support, and an unbeatable price. Cannot recommend this platform highly enough!

Functionality

Pros:

We've appreciated the ability to use multiple different hypervisors on the backend, every support interaction we've had has resulted in quick resolution of our questions, and frankly you can't beat the price, especially for the feature set.

Cons:

The only non-positive thing I have to say is that the platform can be a little daunting at first when you start kicking the tires (from an admin perspective). That being said, the only reason it feels that way is because of its capabilities - there are a lot of options, but if you read the documentation first, it becomes far more manageable.

Reasons for choosing Inuvika OVD Enterprise

Citrix is strong, however it is not nearly as competitive price-wise, and doesn't offer the same flexibility with in letting us choose our own hypervisor.

Reasons for switching to Inuvika OVD Enterprise

With the uncertainty caused by the Broadcom acquisition, we needed to be sure we had a solid product offering that our customers could believe in.

Inuvika OVD Enterprise - truly amazing.

It's a excellent solution, which I did not know even existed until speaking with another vendor of a solution we purchased from them. We moved away from a "competitor" and will not look back.

Pros:

OVD enterprise is lite weight solution for our VDI setup. We can use thin clients, browsers or OVD Ent, desktop client for VDI access. You can deliver virtual desktops and applications. The most important piece we like is the support we receive if we have issues - in a nutshell fantastic. Last but not least is the pricing. Very cost effective.

Cons:

The only thing I found with OVD Enterprise is learning the interface for the setup and management. It's not overly difficult but can take some getting used to.

Reasons for switching to Inuvika OVD Enterprise

With moving away from VMWare moving away from Horizon View was automatic.

Goodbye Omnissa, Hello Inuvika!

5

After Omnissa’s pricing spiked almost tenfold, we moved to Inuvika expecting to compromise on something — performance, usability, or support. Instead, we gained all three. The platform is lean, stable, and flexible, delivering the same end-user experience at a fraction of the cost. It’s clear that Inuvika has built OVD with real-world IT environments in mind. Our migration has been smooth, our users are happy, and we’ve regained control over our virtual desktop strategy without vendor lock-in.

Ratings Breakdown

5

Functionality

Pros:

The simplicity and transparency. Deployment was fast, integration with our existing Active Directory and hypervisors was seamless, and performance has been consistently solid. The licensing model is fair and predictable — none of the eye-watering cost escalations we saw with Omnissa. User sessions are fast to start, management is cleanly designed, and the support team actually listens and responds.

Cons:

The admin console takes a bit of adjustment coming from Horizon, and some of the advanced policies could be surfaced more intuitively. Nothing show-stopping — more a case of learning a new rhythm after years in the VMware ecosystem.

Reasons for choosing Inuvika OVD Enterprise

Parallels RAS is solid, but it’s still heavily tied to the Windows ecosystem. That means extra dependencies, more patching, and less flexibility in how you build or scale your environment. Inuvika OVD, on the other hand, runs natively on Linux and supports a mix of Windows and Linux application servers equally well. That open design fits perfectly with how we manage infrastructure.

Reasons for switching to Inuvika OVD Enterprise

Omnissa’s costs had gone through the roof — close to ten times what we were paying before — and it just stopped making sense. We needed something that could deliver the same reliable VDI experience without draining the budget or tying us into a giant vendor ecosystem. Inuvika OVD ticked all the boxes: straightforward to run, great performance, and a licensing model that actually feels fair. It let us keep everything we liked about our old setup, minus the financial pain.
