Vonage Business Solutions is a cloud-based unified communication solution suitable for small and midsize companies. The solution offers a business phone system that enables businesses to connect their VoIP phone system to any internet source and communicate via text, speech or video conferencing.

Vonage Business Solutions offer flexible plans that can fit the unique needs of any business, and their service requires no contracts. Their basic package provides the core features available in any simple VoIP system - call announce and screening, multiple devices on a single extension and do not disturb to name a few. All calls are managed through the admin portal, where account managers can review call recordings, set up dialing restrictions, adjust dashboard visibility for employees, and even view billing information.

The Vonage Business Solutions mobile app gives users another method for accessing the service from anywhere. Vonage Business Solutions also offers desktop plug-ins to customize the system, most of which come free with the service. Users can also integrate their contacts from Google, Outlook, and popular CRM systems such as Salesforce.

Cheapest way to call Abroad!

We are international travelers and we usually top up our phones with international calling but it is expensive. So, we thought of getting vonage phone and then downloading vonage app. Using Vonage app is pretty easy more likely i am using a regular phone. You just need to have a really good internet connection.

Cons

App crashes abruptly but they fixed that problem in their new versions. Also, it doesn't work sometime showing no internet connection whereas internet is always there. Still no Cons as such which will make you think of why i downloaded this app.

There are alot of great features with this solution but some are things we dont need and dont use. Just do your research and make sure its something that you actually need and want to pay for. Also make sure you equipment is compatible with there system so you are not hit with unexpected costs to make your system work like it is supposed to.

Pros

Lots of good features that allow me to use my business phone anywhere. Even though there were a lot of problems starting our i was always able to get in tough with customer service quickly.

Cons

Lots of things that need to be set up at the beginning of the process. Had lots of issues to start out with most of which were resolved by changing a firewall out that was not compatible with vonage's system. They knew what firewall I had from the beginning took them a month to realize that is was one that does not play well with Vonage's system.

Pros

The web dashboard is really comprehensive, you can control almost every aspect of the service. If required, advanced features like call queues can be added to the service.

Cons

Reliability has not been their strong point, with outages that have lasted for hours. There is an online health check site for the service where admins can check status of the Vonage cloud. Price points are not among the cheapest.

Great IP phones for companies with multiple offices

If you are starting out or if you are an established company, we have found this to be the best option out there. We have tried Xfinity and several others and only found them to be hard to work with and or lack some of the main features that vonage offers.

Pros

There are many pros to the Vonage system. For us we have offices in different states, so when we have patients calling one office and need another we can transfer them as if we were in the same office. There is also the ability to set up a Virtual receptionist so that your company can seem as if it is a much bigger office giving your customers comfort. You can set up a 800 number as well as faxing all in one place. Very user friendly compared to some of the other IP options out there.

Cons

Setting up the system can be a little time consuming, but well worth it once it is complete. As will all IP phone systems you need to have active internet for the phones to work. If you lose internet due to a storm like we have in the past, your phones need to be routed to another phone like your cell phone to receive calls. The positive is that the system allows this to be changed via the app on your phone so this is just a minor bump in the road.

The service itself is very good and setting up is pretty easy. My frustrations came from Vonage not knowing what's going on. I had to reach out to them the day of switchover and they had no that day was the day we were switching to Vonage despite multiple emails confirming this date.

Pros

The GUI is very user friendly. Service has been very reliable, Flat rate on toll free, Support usually pretty responsive and knowledgeable.

Cons

They don't seem very organized. Departments don't know what the other department has done. No contact numbers just emails to entire groups for example you can't call contact a specific person you have to email an entire department. I prefer at least having a point of contact. Not all support agents are the best. Couple times I just hung and called got another support tech to help me.

easy to set up and use, great experience when you purchase, the equipment arrived quickly and the set up was very easy.

Cons

when you want to disconnect or need technical support, it is nearly impossible to get assistance. They made me jump through hoops just to be able to disconnect. Not a fan

It's a good system if you need a powerful package but not as much for small potatoes.

Pros

It has a soft phone and can connect to hard equipment. It was relatively easy to implement. It came with all of the components necessary to connect it.

Cons

The learning curve of this software is pretty steep and it's not always easy to integrate with existing comms.

Overall a good product for the price

Pros

Easy to use, has good voice quality even in low bandwidth. Mobile app is amazing works on 3g, lte and on WiFi.
Messaging features is a good add-on.
Configuration is quite easy.

Cons

I didn't find any cons in particular, I've been using both landline and mobile app.
Maybe sometimes the app doesn't run in background and can miss a call or so but that's very rare..

The interface was easy to learn, and quite intuitive. The text messaging feature was very helpful with our day to day.

Cons

Access to my business phone on the go!

Pros

Love being able to get my voicemail via email while I'm on the go. It's also great to be able have my business line simultaneously ring on my cell phone! Makes running a business on the go so much easier.

Cons

Can sometimes have poor call quality, may need to hang up and call back to get a better call. This doesn't happen very often though.

I liked that the phones were simple and easy to use. Also, there was an online portal where I can sign in as an administrator and adjust call flows or make changes to a phone line's settings, which was easy to learn.

Cons

Often times, the phones in our office would just stop working. These outages sometimes lasted days and we would end up having to use our cellphones to continue with our jobs.

This service was very handy when we lived in England. It was nice that we could call or family could call us and it rang as a local or regular long distance call at the time. We even hooked up a couple times to use from a hotel.

Cons

Calls were iffy at times, but that was more than likely or internet connection.

Pros

We love that you can create a virtual assistant and transfer calls around the office. It helps my small business appear very professional to our clients!

Cons

To get good phones it costs quite a bit of money. We got mid grade phones and they work good but I'm not able to use a headset or have Bluetooth capabilities

IMHO the user interface for the admin dashboard is by far the easiest to use compared to competitors in this class. Adding an additional line, setting up an IVR, forwarding calls among many features, can easily be executed by a technological layman

They have a lot of good features, more than you really need. It's user friendly, no one in the office had any issues using it.

Cons

After setting it up I had to call customer service 8 times before my fax would work. Each time they told me something different and changed the settings. When I told them I was about to cancel they finally had their expert work on it.

We've been running our entire phone system through them for years, the outages we experience are due to the large size of our company and the limited control they or we have over the traffic or internet quality between us and them.

Pros

I have a decent amount of control over the account from the web portal. It allows me to manage the account with minimal need to contacting there customer support team.

Cons

Quality issues on a large network that they cant resolve, we confirmed Ive done everything on my side that is possible. The other issue is that half the time I call there customer support department I have to tell them how to do there job... very frustrating.

As a smaller company, Vonage worked well for us. But as we grew the call quality we received continued to get worse. We would try to work with the support to figure out what was going on but we could never fully resolve the issues.
