From how your server operates to how the client on your device works, OpenVPN offers quite a lot of features for a free program. #### Cons For the average user, OpenVPN is not recommended because you need to set up your own server. It is not a 'plug-and-play' VPN solution. You also need to pay some amount to simultaneously use the VPN service on several devices. It works about 80% of the time to allow me to access the email and files stored there. Once installed, it's pretty easy to connect on a laptop and it's automatic on a phone (most of the time). #### Cons It's a little hit-or-miss, as previously stated. Every now and then, I need to manually connect my mobile device to the VPN, even though it should be automatic.
