The main learning curve was finding where to add these code snippets or personalized css. There's a variety of free themes to choose from too. Absolutely, a WINNER! #### Cons I do not specifically have any complaints so far with WordPress. But, I wish it gave users more flexibility in terms of editing few stuffs without knowing the code. For eg, for some themes, if you want to get rid of their footer, you can't do it from the dashboard. Instead you would have to go to the CODE section is figure out the removal. I have considered alternatives, like Ghost and Substack, but for now, I am sticking with Wordpress. When I enabled comments on my site, I had to experiment with Akismet, settings, and snippets for a week in order to get the spam submissions under control. So many simple things that seem like they should be built into the platform instead require a separate plugin (or snippet). With plugins, you're at the mercy of the creators and must rely on them to update their code, keep it secure, etc. I've had to swap out abandoned plugins, pay for others, and I'm always concerned about security vulnerabilities. This makes me a lot less confident about using the platform as a whole. Another thing I don't like is the API exposure. It is very hidden to the beginner, who may not realize that they are exposing their personal information, for example. There are a lot of online tools available to help you through use of the tool which is very helpful. #### Cons It would make it easier if it had a way to tell you if some of the apps conflicted with each other. It would also be helpful if you were given a "list of things you need" when you first get started, like apps that you need that work alongside these types of platforms, like a server for example.
