TwicPics improves page load speed and user engagement by applying optimizations to web images. Users can specify a single high-resolution master version of the image and the platform generates a sized image based on CSS context, screen resolution and DPR as well as serve it from a global CDN.

Great product and customer service

Pros:

That it's simple and only does what it says. You want image optimization, you get it. The UI is super intuitive, you don't have to learn anything. Perfect to get started fast and use the actual product in your code instead of configuring in the dashboard for hours.

Cons:

Nothing really in particular. I had some issues to get the Nuxt 3 component running, since google wants to see height and width properties on <img /> elements, but the plugin does it in another way, which is fine.

Reasons for switching to TwicPics

The UI of Cloudinary was too bloated, did not get used to it. I tried to setup an image optimization url, but failed multiple times.

Les images sont moins compressées, mais se chargent plus rapidement

TwicPics enlève les tâches assez rébarbatives de resizing et cropping des images en amont de leur intégration sur le site. Nous sommes confiants que 100% des images sur le site se chargent rapidement, et la qualité est au rendez-vous.

Pros:

Avant, nous ne faisions que le strict minimum en termes d'optimisation d'images sur le site, et malgré cela leur préparation nous prenait du temps.Aujourd'hui ces aspects sont gérés en mode automatique parTwicPics, qui s'en sort haut la main. Les images sont moins compressées, mais se chargent plus rapidement - sans aucun effort de notre part.

Cons:

Un certain effort pour deployer la solution la première fois.

Perf Matters! Optimize your Images!

There have been some frustrations with caching and syncing with S3, but that may also be partially on S3. I'm not sure that it really delivers MUCH more than NextJS image optimization, but I haven't explored that enough yet. Generally, it's been a good experience.

Does a nice job of...doing its job. That is, with relatively little information, it 'auto-magically' renders images optimized for size, format, etc. It does more than the competition, such as Cloudinary, etc.

Cons:

The dashboard is less than intuitive. I had to reach out to support and they had to send me screenshots showing how/where to access certain configuration settings, etc.

Pros:

It goes the extra mile in the optimization of responsive images.The solution is pretty intuitive to use. The ease of setup might according to template complexity (and the quality of your code!), but it was straightforward in my case.The quality of support is above any praise.

Cons:

Lack of video tutorials.No referral program.

A no-brainer and easy to implement image optimization API

It's very easy to try their service and monitor performance. You will see how much bandwidth you save but have very noticeable improvements on load times for users. The support has been great when I've needed it.

TwicPics was the easiest to implement for my needs. Their API simply uses URL parameters and it does the rest. Has amazing options for optimizing any images into webp low bandwidth, and auto-cropping. Has save me a lot more in bandwidth costs than their price of their service.

Cons:

Their price plans are very reasonable, but not a lot of options.

Très bonne solution

Très bonne.Sauf que j'ai parfois l'obligation d'utiliser les deux solutions entre api et javascript.En fonction des besoins d'affichage et la réduction du poids de ma page finale.

The most intuitive and efficient free Image optimization and CDN I could find.

setting up TwicPics was super intuitive and easy and customer support are available for any questions.

Pros:

TwicPics image optimization API helped me with offering different image sizes for users based on their screen size and using their SDK, I didn't have to even spend a minute to figure out the right sizes.The smaller images made my website: www.thataicollection.com to load faster and core web vitals (LCP) improved dramatically.

Cons:

The fact that CDN cache invalidation is available only in paid version. But customer support assisted with this issue even on free tier.

Très rapide. Possible d'utiliser TwicPics devant un bucket GCP. Le rendu est plus léger et net que par nos propres moyens. Interface simple et claire, même sur du multi-client (vision agence)

Cons:

Plus simple à mettre en place sur un nouveau projet, mais rien d'insurmontable sur un projet existant.

Pros:

It's dead simple to setup and use. I'm a backend engineer by background, and I was able to spin this up in minutes and get web optimized pictures for a web app I'm working on. The amount of data transferred to the browser went from megabytes to kilobytes just by using the TwicPics loader.

Cons:

This isn't the fault of TwicPics, but React gave me some pretty unhelpful error messages when trying to use the TwicPics loader for an image component in NextJS. Turns out, I was using the Image component from a component library and not the NextJS one.
