Pros/Cons
Pros
- With the free version you can save your map to an image. This tool is useful to help students organize their ideas when they are working on a project collaboratively.
- I really like how easy it is to create a diagram that looks visually appealing. It's easy to select a color pallet and style that complents each price of data I want to visualize.
- I was turned on to cacoo when I noticed a coworker had amazing looking diagrams. He introduced me to cacoo and it quickly became my go to solution for presentation and documentation diagrams.
Cons
- NEVER CHANGE IT AGAIN, it was awful to understand again the same software.
- For something not used all the time it would be difficult to justify paying for it.
- Zooming is difficlut and a bit clunk. Screen real estate is hard.
Pros
- Though Creately is easy to use from scratch, the number of templates they have available is fantastic and it is rare to have to start with bare bones. Fabulous template variety.
- Having a board that is very 'visual' it's been a big help to create charts and mapping of progress on the fly. Super fast and the end product is professional.
- The free version was really great for start point with the product, the flexibility was really good and the graphs and diagrams I made were really good.
Cons
- Not sure of the problem but it is annoying. Could be an issue with O/S or versioning of host software but really, it is annoying to not be able to trust that it will work.
- When you put more informations than the template have, the software begins to be really slow and to have some bugs (e.g., some lines starts to disappear or to go in the wrong image).
- Problems while concurrent access to a diagram by multiple users.
