Network testing support that every tester needs.

Fiddler Everywhere is an amazing piece of code, greatly reducing the amount of work. It comes with a huge load of functionalities included and each feature is cooperating seamlessly. All that the tester needs are right at hand. Because of the nature of the program - it is operating 'in the background' it is easy to use it together with a lot of different software. The only thing that may be scary, is the number of functionalities presented to the new user right after the program start, which may be overwhelming. All in all, it is an amazing tool for every web tester and developer.

PROS

The amount of built-in features is the thing I like the most about Fiddler. All types of web analysis sub tools are included in the software. Detailed traffic filtering comes with saving, decoding, screenshot saving, etc. Autoresponder allows to automatically swap the response for defined requests with any payload user wants. Rules for that can be created with a lot of different filtering ways e.g. regex, simple text filtering, methods, or even headers and flags. it comes along with rules saving, importing, attaching a file to the response, and so on. Composer provides aid with REST API requests creation with logging and execution, which is powerful in connection with the scripting sub tool. The great thing about Fiddler is I don't remember any bugs or problems with the software. Each feature runs smoothly and well. Also, the whole program is highly customizable, so deep adaptation to a user's needs is possible. Web debugging was never that easy. I remember I sometimes struggled with responses over different testing frameworks, creating workarounds with console.logs and unstable debugging methods. Once I discovered Fiddler with all features everything got almost enjoyable.

CONS

To be honest, I don't see much to complain about. Maybe the only thing is that all functionalities are shown at once, in two menus, so less experienced users may feel overwhelmed. Also, sometimes it is hard to find what you are looking for, but it is not that problematic.

Free network analysis with a steep learning curve

Somewhat neutral. Hard to be too hard on a free product, just know that it takes some time to learn.

PROS

It is free, so that's obviously a plus. Very useful filters to focus on exactly the traffic you want to track, and a replay feature.

CONS

It has a steep learning curve. It is difficult to figure out at a glance what button does what or what you need to do to achieve "your task". Takes some exploration to figure it out.
