Pros: The high flexibility of Relatics allows a gradual development and expansion of the database. As a result of this, more project areas can be implemented step-by-step in the database model. Through this, specific project characteristics and information requirements can also be considered. This also contributes to acceptance of the users and throughout the project organization. In addition, the flexibility of Relatics allows us to adapt to changing project requirements and conditions. In our project, Relatics is used in following project areas throughout planning, implementation as well as in the start-up phase of the railway tracks of the Gotthard Base Tunnel and of the access routes: - Requirements Management - Documents Management - Controlling (KPI's) - Quality management / quality control - Material Management - Equipment/Machinery: Maintenance / Repair - Time recording (labourer) Due to training offered by Relatics, we could enable our own staff to make adjustments / settings to the database by themselves; Access rights can be defined dependent on user requirements Access and use is possible on mobile devices Intensive monitoring and support by Relatics employees during the implementation of the project The support of Relatics was always available and was carried out without delay. Cons: Any negative experiences and disadvantages could be observed by us through the endeavours of Relatics to ensure steady development and improvement. Also, they responded to individual customer requirements to rule out any disadvantages early on. All in all, no disadvantages materialized themselves due to these precautions. Overall: We see Relatics as a partner who has contributed to our project success. High confidence and a cooperative relationship was created through direct and personal contact with the Relatics employees.

We use Relatics since 2005 when it was called PKM. Since then there has been a lot of improvement regarding de user interface for the administrator and more for the end user. We use Relatics for all our complex and for some smaller projects.

Easy to configure. With the standard templates and layouts you can set up a new project very fast and easy. Relatics can be used for very small up to very large projects. When Relatics is configured in the wright way, it is very easy to access the information. Relatics can be used to support SE. Every field and menu item can be configured to be editable or read only per user role. Relatics supports webservices (Relatics webservices and external webservices). Relatics supports import of XML and XLS(X) files. In Relatics you can configure you own exports (XML, HTML, Word, PDF, XLS(X)). Relatics API's are available to program your own screen layouts. Relatics BV has their own helpdesk. Relatics BV provides Relatics courses for every level. New developments (use of tablet and smartphone) are constantly implemented in Relatics. Adjustments in the layout and menu are very easy. Adjustments in the layout are direct visible for the end users (can also be a disadvantage).

Because Relatics is so versatile, therefore it can become cluttered for the administrator. End users must be instructed in the wright way because the way to work is different than they are used to. Adjustments in the layout are direct visible for the end users (can also be an advantage). When Relatics is used for some time and the Relatics Model has to be adjusted, it can be a lot of work. When you don't want to us the standard layout, it can take a lot of time to make your own layout.

Relatics enables us to make system engineering more transparent, by structuring the as-built documentation and linking it to other information systems.

Relatics has a lot of configuration options, which means you can really tailor it to your own needs. Fine grained access controls make it possible to determine who can edit which fields. A large amount of file types is supported; Office formats, PDF, XML, HTML to name a few. You can link Relatics with other applications using an API. The application is updated very frequently.

Application updates need to be planned very carefully because they also update the database structure. Especially when a lot of data is in the database and/or the structure has been altered. You need a qualified administrator, because the product is relatively complex to maintain - there is a management studio, IIS setup and packages that need to be imported.

I have used Relatics on several multidisciplinair infrastructure projects throughout Europe (Swiss and the Netherlands) the last few years. Everytime I was satisfied with the support of Relatics as a tool for management report for several aspects: design, systems Engineering, quality assurance, deviations, quality control, maintenance, legitimate payments, HRM, etc. Relatics gives you up-to-date information and is easy to use, easy to fill with the nescessarry data, a good reporting module and search function. Therefor I can recommend Relatics anytime and anywhere, regardless of the business area (finance, construction, production or services)

Very generic, flexible and reliable software to produce high-end online databases!

Relatics is the only software I know that makes it possible to configure high-end, flexible and reliable software applications within hours instead of months. Interactions with other software or information sources is easy. This makes it possible to use Relatics as one portal to information with different sources. As an information consultant I support processes for engineering, inspection and maintainance in the fields of infrastructure, building, shipbuilding and environmental quality. In my projects critical processes are always changing and with that the need exists for fast adaptation of information management. In Relatics I found a tool that helps me to stay connected to the needs of the teams I facilitate. The Relatics support team offers to-the-point support and is open for suggestions for improvement.

Basic versions of Relatics workspaces have a generic interface layout which is quite good, but doesnt exceed in modern look and feel. It is possible to use skins for better look and feel, but configuring a skin takes some time. Although Relatics has the possibility to configure many cool add-ons, working with add-ons brings down one of its most important benefits: flexibility. For example: it is possible to generate reports in a nice layout, but configuring and maintaining it while the Relatics template develops needs attention always.

Great software for creating a information network of any kind. Easy to implement and use. All information is explicit and redundancy doesn't have to occurr.

Quick implementation of the software, after a few hours you can start building your information network. Available everywhere as long as internet is available. Configuration is straitforward and quite simple, no hardcore programing skills requiered. Youre free to develop your own network of elements, relations and properties. Information can therefore be modeled as fits best to your company or project needs. Used Relatics with succes for project solutions in the construction business for Issuemanagement, Requirements management, Workbreakdown structures, contract management an change management.

Freedom and ease of expanding and changing the i nformation structure can also be seen as a risk. A solution in Relatics does not resolve bad management. Not realy suited form managing process flows, can be emplemented but lacks smart options for notification. Not an option for documentmanagement, kan store documents, no version history or file editing options available, new versions of documents must be manualy uploaded.

I would recommend Relatics to manage and link information in any process involving multiple users. The larger the project, the more you benefit though small projects are equally able to benefit from Relatics.

Relatics is adaptable to any process and information stream you can think of and can link to existing systems and data without interfering. The setup and implementation process itself helps to understand how you are working and how the processes and information connects to each other, which is a benefit in itself. Relatics is web and browser based (cloud) and does not require any local install. It can be used on any web-enabled device which is great.

As with all software systems, implementation means getting used to a certain way of working, way of thinking and the use of new software. Once you get into the right mind-set the system is very powerfull. However, at the start getting people to use a new system may be tough. Although the user interface is fairly understandable, some aspects of the interface may confuse first-time users. Much if not all of this can be cleared during implementation and setup of the templates, though. Depending on setting, the licensing may be a bit costly.

When needed to organize a large amount and/or complex related pieces of information in a flexible and scalable way, Relatics is an option you must consider. The fact that it is web based makes it even more usable.

Once the relational model is established, it's very easy to use, flexible and scalable. It is very much possible to adjust the model during the course of a project to changing needs. We use it in a growing number of both Dutch and international projects. Over the years we met in the Relatics company a very trustworthy partner, always willing to accommodate our modeling needs. As multidisciplinary consulting and engineering firm we successfully launched the application of Relatics environment within our infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, tunnels, light and heavy rail). We use Relatics mainly for contract management (performance auditing) and requirements management (systems engineering).

It is advised to thoroughly think through the reports to be generated for your project. The programming of the reports is a significant effort.

When managing a complex contract for mutiple years it is essential that you have a tool that gives you the possibility to record and to retrieve information in any possible way. Relatics does the job. You build your own model based on your needs. In our case recording information for managing a complex contract (for auditing, payments, management reports, riskmanagement, changes etc.). Al that information has connections between each others, and that is the power of Relatics, connecting all the information and retrieve it in the way you want it. But it is not only recording information. We also use the Relatics application for our auditors tot prepare, execute and finisch our audits. We also use the application to initiate and monitor changes.

- The downside of this tool is that you can do so much with it, that you can easily get lost in al your ideas and that you create a conflict in the model. - Changes in the model have their influense on existing information. - So prepare well, before starting to record information.

If your company wants to improve operations and procedures that are being supported by databases or numerous spreadsheets, or if integration of processes (and input en output information) is important I would certainly recommend Relatics.

For Semmtech the main pro is the fact Relatics is based on semantic technology. This solid and flexible base gives us the opportunity to `model almost anything. Because we have clients in different sectors, with different needs en different challenges, the flexibility is a must in order to offer different applications and still use the same modeling strategy/approach again and again.

The only con so far is the fact that the software could extend its dedicated functionalities, for instance for calculations or data exchange. We do think Relatics will incorporate more dedicated functionality in the future now that the focus is on product life cycle management.

A very usefull product; easy to master and easy to install. Can be applied for a wide variety of subjects (very flexible). It allows you to build an maintain your own model and structure. The risk off course is that the model grows wild, but Relatics offers sufficient tools to maintain your application and keep it in shape.

The system is flexible and robust; it is webbased and therefore very easy to install and share; it has great features for defining roles and defining the view/edit features for different users; the interface for creating and editing the different views is intuitive and gives a quick overview of the application.

The application for Systems Engineering in the Netherlands still had to be developed (in 2008); the generation of (complex) reports requires a separate editor

We've been using Relatics for about four years as a systems engineering management tool. Using our own SE knowledge we were able to build our own information model (with some help of Relatics in the startup phase) Although some features are missing, we've used this software to manage our information for more than 40 projects. Overall we are satisfied with this product.

Pros: Extremely flexible software, when we purchased it, we were planning to use it mainly for Systems Engineering. Meanwhile we are extending the use with a document control system and we keep seeing more and more applications for using this software. Being a web-based software package also comes in very handy for collaborating tasks both internal and external. Cons: It is not software "out-of-the-box", you will have to define the information formats and their relations before you can use it. Since it is so flexible and versatile, a lot of thought must be given to the desired data structure before configuring. Overall: Once it is configured to your needs, the software is easy to use and has very powerful capabilities. .

Pros: Great advantage of using Relatics is that we can easily model/adjust Relatics to our (Sustems Engineering) processes instead of the other way around. We experience the user interface as intuitive. A great advantage is that it is web-based so we can work from different offices on the same project. Cons: Get the info from out of Relatics on paper needs some hand work or investments in other tooling. Overall: We use Relatics as a Requirement Management Tool as part of Systems Engineering in our projects nowadays and see lots of opportunities to expand the use of Relatics to other processes as well.
