Best and most widely used WordPress E-Commerce Plugin
I am really happy with overall experience of using Woo Commerce for online E Commerce store. Free version fulfills most of small startup business requirements.Only hosting domain and other charges are needed to setup your own Business or online store website.Configuration is effortless but may be confusing for a total non tech newbie who use shopify only.Nonetheless after some practice it becomes a piece of cake.It is a much secure platform with helpful plugins to for add-on functionality.I would really recommend it for online E-Commerce store specially which are already running on WordPress CMS.
PROSFirst of all it is plugin in word press environment which makes it m first and only choice as the best for making e-commerce functionality website. It has all the functions to run an online store easily with out much technical knowledge.Various plugin supplement and extend the Woo Commerce functionalities even further beyond.Payment processing and order management is handled efficiently and effectively.Too many functionalities like bulk upload, shipping management, contact info, payment management and etc make life easier to much extent like designing forms, creating custom checkout field , shop page custom price filter and minimum or max product quantities...etc.
CONSNot much user friendly like shopify and other competitor.Still just little practice needed to learn it.Its related add-on plugins can be expensive.I had not faced any major technical issue using it.
Reason for choosing WooCommerce
Because WooCommerce give the independence of choosing a hosting server of your own choice according to budget and performance needs.I had WordPress hosting experience and it operates in this environment as a plugin in which I have experience working.

Best by far overall for small biz e-commerce
Our experience and mine overall are great. There are hundreds of third-party integrations running efferently along with this platform, which makes managing an e-commerce very simple out of the box. It is easy to add many products variations, different kind of inventories, pricing features, and so other.
PROSFreeEasy to use, understand, install and manage. Very customizable since runs on WordPress
CONSIt supposedly might find hard to work along with thousands of items and tremendously visited websites. We haven't faced many issues so far.
Reason for choosing WooCommerce
No way any of those competitors might race WooCommerce at any level other than supper stores, and I keep some doubts WooCommerce get difficulties at large scale as many people claim. In first place, it is the only completely free alternative of the market working along with WordPress, which provides a lot of customization power with ease. Additionally, there are several payment gateways providers, and you can decide your best rate other than getting tied by a particular fee in platforms such as Wix or Shopify. And talking about Magento, WordPress happens to be more user-friendly either for developers or Search Engines.

Woocommerce: An exquisite WordPress plugin for product management
Instantly receiving notifications in my email for new orders/customers and being able to respond effectively has greatly improved client relations and boosted sales. The report analysis also has enabled me to keep tabs on sales.
PROSFor a frequent web Designer using WordPress, Woocommerce is a vital tool in ecommerce sites. I can pricing, shipping, payment integration, view new orders and my customers all under one platform.
CONSDepending on the outcome one intends to achieve, you might need some extensions to run hand in hand with Woocommerce with most having a high price tag

Good and bad experiences with Woocommerce.
It’s been ok and got us to where we need to be. We are thinking of switching away in the future mainly due to inventory management not being great, and very time consuming.
PROSIt’s easy to set up, simple to customise layout and overall look of the website. Very inexpensive compared to the majority of competition.
CONSSlow and sluggish at times. A long and drawn out process to add new products with multiple sizes. No matter how high our security is, we have still been hacked twice.

Woocommerce gets the job done, cheap! (unless you need a lot of addons)
We've used woocommerce for years to manage our inventory and sell our goods, merch, and services. It's been very helpful, particularly for anything we need to ship.
PROSWoocommerce is enterprise grade software that is free/cheap. You can get started for free and buy the official addons for a relatively low price if you need them. If you have a developer like we do, you can extend the functionality for no extra cost. It gets the job done nicely.
CONSCould have more out-of-the-box functionality.
Reason for choosing WooCommerce
Cheaper and more extensible. Offered us more control.

WooCommerce is a can't-do-without WordPress store builder
WooCommerce is the perfect eCommerce solution for me because it's cost-effective and provides a great store-building experience. It's a great plugin for all-size projects. I strongly recommend it.
PROSBuilding an eCommerce website with the WooCommerce plugin is far better than developing one from scratch. The main reason I say this is because I've worked on a couple of eCommerce projects where I had to do the development from scratch, add products, and do all the formalities. When I discovered WooCommerce my entire experience suddenly changed. Why?Because it actually saved me from a lot of stress.WooCommerce supplies me with all the infrastructures required to build a modern and fully functional eCommerce store and handles a lot of other tasks like inventory management, shopping cart, shipping, and more. Using WooCommerce in WordPress I always assume that I know nothing about coding - and it's true; you don't need any coding skills to use WooCommerce. It's my to-use plugin whenever I receive orders about online store designs. I like it because it's simple to use, has a modern user interface, supports a wide array of third-party integrations, it is lightweight and free.
CONSFor a free plugin, I see no issues with it. It helps a lot

An Easy to Use Ecommerce website builder
I used Woocommerce to build my ecommerce website. It was easy to do unlike starting from scratch to build the website. Also I didn't have to pay website developers to build the website for me. It could have costed me a whole lot of money had I outsourced it to website developers.
PROSWoocommerce is an ecommerce plugin built for WordPress. To be able to use Woocommerce one must install WordPress first. Just like the parent software (WordPress), Woocommerce is very commendable. The things I like about Woocommerce include the following: 1. Free to use: Just like WordPress, Woocommerce is free to use, though one may need to purchase some premium plugins to add some features that may not be available in free plugins. Cost was a major factor for me when I was making the choice of a platform to use for my ecommerce website, and Woocommerce was the best fit for me. 2. Support network: Woocommerce have a huge user base. There are online and offline communities where one can easily get solution to problems. 3. Ease Of Us: Woocommerce is very easy to use compared to some other ecommerce website builders I've checked out. One only have to install compatible themes and plugins to get started. It is a drag and drop ecommerce website builder, and need no technical skills to get started. 4. Security: Woocommerce websites are secure. The plugin witnesses regular updates to keep it secured. 5. Dedicated Dashboard: Woocommerce have a dedicated dashboard where one can see the performance of the website, like the number of sales, and the amount of sales. This is beautiful as I get to see how my business is going without much ado.
CONSOne of the issues I had with Woocommerce was the learning curve. Though it's easy to use after one is done learning it, but the learning curve wasn't very easy for me. After the initial stage of learning though, it became very easy to use. Also with Woocommerce, I had to be updating the server myself unlike with Shopify. Shopify maintains the server. Shopify handles the technicalities. Another issue was the need to buy an SSL encryption. With Shopify, this wasn't an issue for me, as Shopify takes care of that.
Reason for choosing WooCommerce
I chose Woocommerce because it was free and easy to use.
Reasons for switching to WooCommerce
I made the switch from Shopify to Woocommerce because Woocommerce is free to use, while Shopify is a paid alternative.

A great e-commerce solution, but still awhile to go...
WooCommerce is great in its e-commerce features but lacks where its obvious competitors are excelling in, turning it into a second-grade choice when compared to the likes of BigCommerce, Krepling, and Shopify.
PROSWooCommerce is great in its core product offering. It offerings everything one could ask for when looking to deploy an online store. It is simple and easy to use and also has a decent array of features. For WordPress users, it is a must-have if you are looking to deploy online selling functions.
CONSWhere WooCommerce falls short is its simplicity. Whilst platforms like Shopify, Krepling, and BigCommerce have mastered the ability to simplify and centralize the online selling environment and business management, WooCommerce has yet to innovate any of its central dashboards and interfaces. I have used WooCommerce for 3.5 years, and despite it being a very powerful selling tool, I have never been able to look past it being just a WordPress plugin. Entrepreneurs are still required to have their own separate hosting options and domain configurations, which require users to constantly jump between different support options just to troubleshoot errors. Not to mention how much WooCommerce relies on WordPress. Although I have no complaints about WordPress, its ease of building websites has not adopted a 'no-code' ideology, thus requiring users to purchase additional plugins like themes and modules.
Reasons for switching to WooCommerce
Magneto required extensive knowledge of coding and programming. Something not clearly marketed by the platform.

Needs more improvements!
You can build your e-commerce with it. But you have to be extra technical to build it. Needs improvements, definitely.
PROSFirst off, WooCommerce is the first choice when it comes to fast e-commerce website. It is CMS-based, offers large library of extension for all and varied e-commerce demands, offers considerable customizability. Knows what the e-commerce industry needs. The thing that I like most about WooCommerce is it's large libraries of extensions. It's less likely that you'll ran out of options when it comes to customizing the function of your store.
CONSBranding. When you want to customize your store to strictly follow your branding guidelines, this is where WooCommerce falters. There is not much you can do with the checkout page, cart page, thank you page, my account page and all. Extensions tend to be expensive. Even those that have simple functions. Common sense functionalities are not added. It's either you have to install a third-party plugin or buy there own extension, or code it for yourself.
Reason for choosing WooCommerce
Not yet. Planning to try Shopify. BigCommerce etc...

Woocommerce - Perhaps the best way to create an online store
Overall, Woocommerce is one of the best ecommerce platforms available today. There are endless possibilities as to how you can customize and design your ecommerce store with Woocommerce. Though some addon might be pricey, you can get a store running smoothly without paying for extra addons. You have total control over your store, it is great for SEO and offers excellent functionality.
PROSWoocommerce is open source and accessible to as many people that can install Wordpress on their hosting account. When compared to other ecom platforms there are no monthly fees associated with Woocommerce and it is suitable for use whether you are creating a simple store or a large store. You can also edit and customize it to your taste or branding with the help of many readily built templates. You can create a store with different product variants, easily manage your inventory, add your own SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) number to each product, and include several payment options. Expand your eCommerce horizons
Overall, I would rate 8/10 for a smooth e-commerce experience WooCommerce offers.
PROSWhenever you hear the word e-Commerce, it brings to your mind about buying and selling items from a web platform. But, WooCommerce has easily expanded the definition by providing flexibility to expand the eCommerce usage towards more industries. Other than tangible goods, services also can utilize WooCommerce conveniently with a few customizations or with a few side-kick plugins (Plugins that help extend WooCommerce functionality). For instance, if you run a delivery service, you can let your customers can place their delivery through the WooCommerce-based website, calculate the payment based on the distance and then pay for it online. Likewise, many other industries that provide services can utilize WooCommerce as their virtual store. Especially at a pandemic time, people rely on online platforms to fulfill their needs. They use online platforms not only to order tangible products, but also to pay for services. WooCommerce has a very easy to use user interface that is self-explanatory even for a non-technical person. WooCommerce support multiple languages, so you can set it up according to the language you utilize. If you can read and understand the language, it's just matter of time to set up your own eCommerce system.
CONSOut of the box, WooCommerce supports sale of products and services. But to expand it to a more powerful and customized one, you need to rely on 3rd party plugins that help you expand the requirement. Some 3rd party plugins go abandoned / outdated - which might cause the functionality of the customization you've done.

Virtually anything is possible with WooCommerce
Having built many WooCommerce stores for our web clients, it's by far more extensible and flexible than Shopify, et al. You're not locked into one mode of operating, which is important for many businesses with unique needs. With WooCommerce your online store can change as your business needs change. Virtually anything is possible, given you have the technical skill or can afford a developer to implement it.
PROSWooCommerce is the most powerful e-commerce platform for any small to medium-sized business who can't afford to custom code their own store from scratch. If you need features not found in Shopify, Squarespace or Wix, WooCommerce is the answer. With its galaxy of third-party plugins and extensive online support, there's virtually no limit to what you can build.
CONSBuilding and managing a WooCommerce store can be difficult, depending on your technical skills and the complexity of your store. Also, while there are many free WooCommerce plugins, there are many more that require paid subscriptions. These subscriptions can add up. Frankly, if your needs are basic, review Shopify and other SaaS e-commerce platforms first before considering self-hosting with WooCommerce.

An excellent choice for newbies
Overall I have and continue to use this software on some of my websites as well some for my clients. It has been a great addition since having an eCommerce platform on a website without having to purchase additional software is fantastic. Since the free version of WooCommerce is pretty much all you need to get started. It is usually the additional functionality for extra features is what requires the add ins and or additional plugins.
PROSThis software for WordPress sites to create an eCommerce store is great for newbies and the free version comes with enough features to create a pretty robust store. There are however other integrations required to take the store to another level. This may be things like being able to create a wish-list, add dropshiping products or simply have a popup cart. The point is all of this can be done with additional plugins that are free to use with WooCommerce free version, you can have a great looking eCommerce site that looks and runs very efficiently without spending a ton of money to get started. Being able to integrate drop shipping allows you to have a full store without spending any money on your inventory and without having to incur monthly costs for having the site.
CONSSome of their best features require add ins that can get to be very expensive when you start looking at all the great features they can add to your store. There are other free and paid options but as with most software, it is better to use the ones built by the software makers rather than ones created by others. Simply put, sometimes basic updates can create conflicts between the software on your site and leave you puzzled with why your site is not working the way it was. This can get to be an issue if you are new to the game and don't know how to troubleshoot your website issues.

WooCommerce Excels in Ecommerce
I have been using WooCommerce for over ten years. I love the Ecommerce platform. I have tried their competition but always return to WooCommerce. They are always improving and adding plug-ins. My hosting is on Bluehost with WordPress installed as the CMS and WooCommerce as my Ecommerce platform. It's great. The only time I experience any issues is when a server glitches or goes down. I highly recommend WooCommerce as your Ecommerce platform!
PROSWooCommerce is a highly customizable platform with over 55,000 available plug-ins. The platform is open source as are thousands of the plug-ins. There are also premium plug-ins available. WooCommerce Payments is easy to install and deploy which allows you to receive payment for your products which may be physical or digital. WooCommerce is more customizable then their competition. Once you use this platform you will not want to switch. If you are paying for hosting separately, it only makes sense to use WooCommerce so you are not paying twice.
CONSThe learning curve for WooCommerce requires more effort than their competition, which is why it is more customizable. It is advisable to read the literature available on the WooCommerce website and access their help section for guidance. If you have any coding skills, you will be fine. Your SSL Certificate will not be automatically hooked up. On your hosting account you will need to install that. Also you will need to write your Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Return Policy and link to one of your menus. Make sure to add a cookie plugin so you are covered legally in the United States and Europe.

WooCommerce: Not the easiest to setup, but by far the most customizable
Before implementing WooCommerce, we were always "making do" with the solutions that other platforms would offer. A lot of times this felt that we were not only rationalizing/making excuses for those platforms' limitations, but we were overall just settling for a less than ideal fix. WooCommerce has allowed us to offer the complete online shopping experience that we've been striving to deliver to our clients.
PROSAfter having used many other eCommerce platforms in the past (Square, Shopify, Wix etc...), I am left blown away by how completely customizable WooCommerce is. There is literally nothing that can not be done with this software - it's just a matter of figuring out how to get there. You want different shipping tables based on user IP location? No problem. Looking to have suggested items displayed depending on the purchase order? You got it! The one downside to WooCommerce is figuring out how to correctly dial in the settings to achieve the desired result. This can take a bit of time, but luckily WooCommerce's documentation and online tutorials are extremely helpful and plentiful. After having experienced the limitations of many other eCom "solutions" it truly is refreshing to have an option as robust as WooCommerce.
CONSAs I mentioned above, dialing in the correct settings can be a bit laborious, but if you are patient and willing to do a little bit of research, there really is no limitation to what you can build.

WooCommerce is Our Go-To For Clients....
I've been working with eCommerce systems for nearly 20 years, and WooCommerce is still my go-to choice. It's the finite control over the user experience that makes it my preference, but then again, it's certainly not for everyone. If you're considering WooCommerce and you have no experience with it, my advice would be to hire a developer who does. They can help you install it, configure it, and show you how to maintain it.
PROSFirstly, it's free. It's completely free and open-source, so it's a great option for anyone who is starting out. Secondly, you can extend WooCommerce to do literally ANYTHING that you can imagine. Developers around the world have built extensions that you can buy or download to completely control and customize the way it works so if you need a pretty custom shopping experience, there's likely a way to put it together using WooCommerce. Lastly, the design can be very "out of the box" so you don't need an awful lot of design chops to make it look pretty amazing. It's also the standard ecommerce system for WordPress, so if you're buying a high-end theme, chances of it supporting WooCommerce are pretty great.
CONSThe interface is WordPress, since WooCommerce is an add-on. For some people, they find the backend of WordPress a bit off-putting, but once you get going, it's a pretty easy to use piece of software (albeit not very pretty). It would be nice if the order, products and reviews could be easily popped on the dashboard to make them feel more front and center for clients with less experience. The other huge con with WooCommerce is it's hosted with YOUR hosting company, which means that you're responsible for the security of the customer's information. That's not a big deal if you work with a developer, but as a solopreneur, it means making sure you have good site security from the get-go and staying on top of that security upkeep.
