Cheaper Than Alternatives
It's reliable in that we've never run into it malfunctioning. It doesn't require frequent updates or constant money-grubbing.
PROSGFI Faxmaker has been reliable and is able to be customized by Group Policy. Its cost is definitely appealing. It allows for custom cover sheet messages on a per-user basis.
CONSFaxmaker is quite rudimentary. Its Tab function can often fail which means you have to click into the To: field. This sounds minor, but when sending many faxes a day (as a referral clerk, medical records clerk, etc.), this can be cumbersome. Changing the cover image is an absolute pain as there is no real administrative interface. It's simply XML code that must be manually updated.

GFI is frequently not working well and there are no customer service support
it OK if its working and when its working
CONSWe have Allscripts EHR and therefore we are forced to use GFI. Customer service is non existing. Emails that I am receiving from them are always for some reason deleted (blank). We can never log into the account without the problem; our account seems to be always frozen. It takes days to get in touch with somebody. I can't wait to try something different

because I use Allscripts EHR ; we did not have a choice.

NO customer support
I can't wait to get away from this service.
PROSIt's supposed to be acceptable (according to my IT people) but my experience with it has been unfavorable.
CONSTheir admin area is not intuitive. Getting a real human to address any kind of support question is virtually impossible. They prompt you to re-up your prepaid fax account really early.
