Google Drive Has Made Work Life Easy

My overall experience has been what I would like to consider immaculate. So simple and easy to use and it always amazes me how much it is improved upon after all these years. Its free, easy, useful, helpful, progressive, and all sorts of other good things. I am a huge fan of Drive and hope to be for several more years.

PROS

What I like most about Google Drive is the ease of access. It has allowed me to store large files of which a lot of other services are unable to provide. That is one of the main reasons why I like to consider the product superior in contrast to its competitors. Google as a company never ceases to fail me with the level of ease it requires to use their products and services. On top of it all, they are still continuing to improve their products and services.

CONS

What i like least about Google Drive is probably how there is no dark mode. I really want a dark mode because of how much less strain it would cause on my eyes. I have poor vision, and when it comes to light mode I have a hard time navigating things. If there is a dark mode, i would at least like to know where to navigate it because I am unable to find it.

Reasons for switching to Google Drive

It was so difficult to navigate dropbox to the point where it began to be problematic for me. I like to be fast and efficient, but dropbox was unable to fulfill this need. When I switched over to Google Drive, I was able to accomplish work at a much faster rate and it turned out a lot better.

Decent Cloud Storage

My experience with Google Drive hasn't been poor... I've jsut found other services that I prefer (and so do my clients).

PROS

Fairly easy to use, easily sharable links for others

CONS

Must be part of the Google sphere to use it, expensive compared to other options, and not super simple for others to use if they are not already part of Google Drive.

The best around

It solves all my storage issues, allows me to have all my files secured in backup, and it is not expensive. At the same time, it is hard to manage but this is not very important for me because for me it's mainly a backup tool.

PROS

For starters, it is solid and it offers the best relation between money and storage. It is very easy to set up.

CONS

The interface is hard for me to use, it takes me a lot of time to find old files and I get all sorts of trash that others have shared with me mixed with my files. I have a hard time filtering those out to find my stuff and manage it.

Reason for choosing Google Drive

Price. But mostly because I don't like Apple products.

Google Drive Keeps My Life Organized

I'm obsessed with Google Drive. I use it to keep a lot of my personal documents in one place, and I also use Docs, Sheets, Google Voice, and other features that come with the Google account. Drive is helpful because it allows me to share documents easily, and organize my life so I can keep certain files to myself and others to share with other teams. I use Google Sheets, Google Docs, and other features quite frequently, and it is really the best platform for keeping all of my documents together of any services offered on the internet at the moment.

PROS

First of all, I love that it is FREE with a Google Account. Second, I love that it's so easy to customize, and serves as a great way to keep your personal (or work) documents stored for many people to share. It's more user friendly than Dropbox or other storage services, and it has Google Sheets and Google Docs which are great versions of Word and Excel that allow you to share access with others and save it in real time. It's a great homebase for all of my documents, and I love how secure it feels as a backup online service that I can access on any platform in the case that my computer crashes.

CONS

It sometimes gets funky if you have multiple Google Drive accounts under different emails, because sometimes documents will save in the wrong Drive account because you opened it while logged into a different account. I wish Google Drive asked if you wanted to save a document to that different Drive account in the instance that it is accidentally in the wrong place.

Reason for choosing Google Drive

Google Drive has so many more features than Dropbox! Though of course, I also use Dropbox because it's free.

Brilliant Working and Co-Working Platform

My co-working and collaborative online experience has been elevated, and my workflow and organization have been simplified and optimized thanks to Google Drive. It syncs beautifully across all of Google's platforms and makes my life easier.

PROS

Google Drive works almost perfectly seamlessly and very intuitively for those importing or creating documents from the more historically familiar Microsoft suite. It's great if you want to upload and continue working on a document, as the drive provides an online storage space that syncs beautifully and easily from whichever computer you're accessing. It also provides a fast, simple way to co-work on the same documents and share documents and files -- especially large ones that are otherwise difficult to manage. It also allows you to keep track of who contributed what and track changes over time. From Google Drive, you can share, store, and view media (including videos), multi-media presentations, documents, and more. Google Drive has been invaluable to me personally as well as to every organization for which I have worked.

CONS

As far as I know, it is not possible to work effectively offline and then upload changes when the internet reappears.

Reasons for switching to Google Drive

Dropbox is slow, non-intuitive, and hard to manage (especially for elderly or non-tech saavy colleagues) - and is also more expensive.

Google Drive Review

My overall experience with Google drive has been overwhelmingly positive. I use it to store and share large project files, up to a few gigs even, with little to no upload time. The free version of Google drive is so great, that even upload/download time takes hardly any time at all, unlike some alternative share/storage sites that can take several minutes, even hours, depending on what type of content you are trying to put there.

PROS

What I like most about Google Drive, is that it's very user friendly. One does not have to have any formal training in order to utilize this software. It makes sharing every day, average file sizes with internal and external client's a breeze. I like that you can easily assign or share links, and determine if the person receiving can view, edit, download, re-share (etc.) It's great for individual storage space that you can access at any time from your phone, computer, or and device with web access, and it's also great for group projects and collaborations. Being that it is a Google product, most people have heard of it, and recognize it's a reputable and safe storage/share site.

CONS

What I like least about this share site is the same issue I have with all share sites. It can be difficult to share content across the board with individuals that do not necessarily have a gmail/google suite account themselves. I have had individuals reach out to me directly, complaining that they cannot access the content I've shared with them, due to the fact that they don't have a gmail/google suite account themselves. Granted, there are easy work-arounds for that, but an average user is not going to be tech saavy enough to figure that out without lots of instruction.

Reasons for switching to Google Drive

I switched from DropBox to Google Drive because I had too many clients complaining that they did not have a DropBox account to access the content I was sending them. Google Drive made it much easier for me to share content without requiring a login.

Great product for cloud collaboration

Google drive has been a great solution to our file management needs. It's ease of use and share-ability make it my go to soultion for cloud storages.

PROS

Google drive offers a great resource for sharing files in my organization. It has saved us the need for on-site file storage. The drive is also vehicle that we can use to share files and information with vendors and customers.

CONS

I would enjoy a feature that would allow you to see more details about a file in the drive platform (ie file type). This is available if you have the drive extension on your file explorer, but would be nice to have in the cloud also.

Reason for choosing Google Drive

The cost per user with the entire G-suite of products helped push me into this option.

"Best tool for work at home or anywhere with only a single lappy or smartphone & internet"

The benifits are numerous. As i already pointed out about the easy share link for different roled people of your work monitors. One more best thing is that the storage capacity. I almost stored around 10GB of my docs and sheets along with inportant client folders with images and data in my drive. The problem of sharing the folders and worked on data through mail is easily being solved in just a click of sharing link using this tool.

PROS

All my work is stored in the form of excels and docs so i just share the link of my work sheet with the client directly. This particular feature of sharing the link of our worksheet with only viewing access or if needed, with editing access is the best feature from this drive tool.

CONS

As far as i am aware i am usingng this tool from the past 3 years and i never disliked something so strong but yeah i dislike some functions that are not required in the excel sheet when we are at hurry. Like when i select some cells, some times it automatically calculates the sum of these cells together for which i always face trouble in enteringng the cell values separetly in every cell in numerics.

Reason for choosing Google Drive

Due to the ease of usage for Google Drive I finally bought this tool instead of going to my second option "one drive".

Reasons for switching to Google Drive

I felt google drive is more convinient to use in terms of both storage as well as access anywhere and anytime on any smartphone and there isnt a compulsion to carry a lappy for accessing this tool.

Google Drive retired my pendriver and memory cards

PROS

Google Drive makes all the difference in my professional and personal career with my team. A prominent feature in the new service is the search for files, which is done in the entire content of the file, using keywords and filters, such as, for example, file type and creator user. The service also promises to recognize objects within your scanned images and texts, providing data about your documents. In addition to the powerful search, Google Drive has a tool for viewing files, which displays more than 30 types of files in the user's browser. The files range from high definition videos to Adobe Photoshop files, to text documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

CONS

The Google Drive service integrates version control for stored files. All changes made to the files are recorded and saved automatically for 30 days. If the user wishes, it is possible to choose a version to save forever. Thus, users can have control of what was done in their files, knowing what was changed, when and by whom. Long time Dropbox user now a dedicated Google Drive user!

Much of what I do in Google Drive is for managing the workflow of photography projects that engage contractor work. I create project rosters for larger companies and invite the project lead to help with the expectations of headshot project timelines. It also allows the companies to be more involved. Amongst other file sharing it just works really well for me and most people have a google account or google access to easily hop into the spreadsheets or handouts. I also work with contractors in the US for editing and contractors for smaller jobs on Fiverr. Google Drive allows me to share files that need to be worked on with an easy link in our production app (Airtable) to get files around.

PROS

I love so many things about using Google Drive. I use it for my business on a daily basis. I come from a long long relationship with Dropbox, but finally switched over. I find that more people are able to understand using Google Drive when I collaborate or share documents and images. I also love that Google Drive comes with native Word Processing (Docs) and Spreadsheets (Sheets) for quick client project management. I find it is very easy to understand the UX, layout, easy to organize my files, easy to share files at a variety of security levels, easy to login and access... and I love that I can use Emoji's in my folder names and color coding.

CONS

In the near past, I have been a little annoyed with the sharing functionality until I realized how it worked. I have a google workspace custom email domain and my admin is connected to my Google Drive -- that said, it stops and asks if I want to share outside my organization. I do know they have changed the share features recently for the better to make it a cleaner, easier experience. I am glad that this is one of the areas they chose to improve. Otherwise, I have been very happy with my Google Drive experience.

Reason for choosing Google Drive

I honestly did not consider using any other cloud storage alternatives. To me, Dropbox and Google Drive are the leading cloud services I could count on for similar features. At the time I needed something similar or better than what I was using.

Reasons for switching to Google Drive

I was a very long-time dedicated, paid user of Dropbox (10 years). It was hard to change. MY reason for changing was that I do photography work for our city, chamber, and police department and they are all on the same servers with heavy-duty security measures in place on their IT side. We needed a tool that would allow file sharing with a secure system and Google Docs fit the bill. The cost was also a nice switch as it was a bit cheaper ... I even felt like I was getting more out of my lesser expense.

Google Drive for G Suite - Pros easily outweigh the cons.

Our company shares a lot of files and folders within the company as well as outside our organization with customers. Google Drive has been a simple solution to keep everyone on the same page with shared files/folders and gives us the option to temporarily share files with clients using the permission expiration features. We love that it keeps everything in one place but is easily accessible from just about anywhere.

PROS

- Ease of use: it doesn't get easier than Google Drive. We use Google Drive with our business G Suite account, the ease of use makes onboarding new employees quick and simple which means less wasted time for management. - Accessibility: Access from ANYWHERE. Instant upload and instant availability means accessing files on the go is simple and fast. - File sharing: Add an email address and you're good to go. Easily set permissions for what that person is able to do (view only, edit, organize, share, etc.) and change those permissions just as quickly if need be. - File sharing expiration: We love this feature. We share images with our clients and give them a time frame to have the option to download or save their files. You can customize that time frame for any length of time. After that window of time is up, the link automatically stops sharing. No setting reminders or deleting share permissions. - Commenting on files: Just found this little gem and it's amazing. We have a lot of shared files and folders, you can easily comment or make notes on both. This is very helpful if the folder is missing something or a file needs annotating but you don't want to markup the actual file.

CONS

- File "corruption": Occasionally one of our shared files will be opened on a PC and someone else will open it on a Mac and for some reason that doesn't always go smoothly on the back end. The next time you open the file it sometimes says it's corrupted. Luckily, (a "pro") Google Drive automatically saves "versions" so you can fairly easily restore an earlier version before the file was corrupted and typically you don't lose any changes or information. Mostly just an inconvenience. - Commenting on files: While this is a huge "pro", the only downside is that the comments are not timestamped or dated so it's hard to keep a string of comments or notes going to show updates or changes.

One of the best service for cloud storage and backup your important information.

Overall I would say I am very happy to use this software. I have been using this software on Microsoft Windows and Android Mobile devices and never thought of using any other software for my cloud storage needs.

PROS

I have been using this software by Google since last 5-6 years, both on my mobile devices and on computer. One of the best feature of this software is its syncing capabilities across various platforms. I don't need to manually sync any information from my mobile device to my computer. Google Drive does it automatically based on my account I logged in on all devices. Further I can just access any information from my any devices anywhere using my login credentials and don't need to carry storage device to carry my information along with me. This makes me feel safer while accessing my sensitive information remotely. Also, you can have various options from their paid plans to get the cloud storage. Which I think is best option to store your important information rather than saving that physically on storage devices. I would say this is one of the best software for remotely storing your information and accessing that safely using login credentials. Best software provided by Google. I would definitely recommend this software to anyone who need to access information across various devices.

CONS

Not many cons I noticed but yes one of not so good feature I can say is that sometimes it becomes difficult to find what data has been shared publicly and what is set as private. It should have some kind of definite identification of data shared as public and the private records.

This software changed the game

It's amazing, I love these Google products and the fact they are so good has really made me change my mind about Google as a company as a whole. I understand they get access to reams of user data, the likes of which has never been seen before when giving this app out for so cheap, but it really feels like an act of philanthropy. I don't think group collaboration or business will ever be the same again. This software opens the world up to everybody everywhere, no longer having to crack a version of Microsoft in order to start a company or send your dissatation to your teacher.

PROS

It's changed the whole way people do personal computing. The price is so affordable, the ease of use is out of this world and the ability to now collaborate with others will never be the same again. Firstly the way I can edit documents in real time with other people is extraordinary, this has saved me so much pain and frustration having to export document formats so people on different operating systems can tediously format them to see what I'm doing and send them back. Secondly, I can't imagine the amount of genius in this world has been lost to a crashing computer, weeks of work disappearing due to an old machine or crashing software. I know students will never be able to use this excuse again and for them that's sad, but my work constantly being saved to the cloud so I never lose it is unbelievable. Next the revision software you can do on Google drive documents. The fact I can go back into my revision history and see who did what when and jump back. I wouldn't have even imagined this was possible. Lastly, the awesome document link sharing feature, sharing a link so easily to get others accsess is awesome.

CONS

The sharing feature drives me mad, every time I move a file around my drives it asks me if I'm sure I want to share the file with people in the new file. This is so annoying. I know exactly who and why I am sharing my files with, this safety feature is so tedious. Also the fact I have to change the sharing options every time I share the file with somebody, you've sent a document to somebody happy that the next day they are going to make the edits and you get an email back in the AM saying "sorry I couldn't do the work, I didn't have the correct accsess", I'd rather learn the lesson the hard way (somebody getting the file that I didn't want them to) than having to update the sharing settings everytime I give somebody a link.

Great for collaboration and sharing

Overall, we use Drive a lot in our organization because it's an effective way to communicate in real time and to give others visibility (and even commenting abilities) on what we are doing. Using this software has improved the way we can display and share our work, without fear of it getting lost or taking up too much space. For example, we have started creating Google Sites through Drive instead of PDF documents to report on projects, as they are more interactive and people like the experience of being guided through a website. That's been a big win for us, and the Drive software absolutely empowers us to do this.

PROS

The biggest advantage to using Drive - whether it's Sheets, Docs, Slides, or Sites within Drive - is the provision for simultaneous editing. And then saving in the cloud. It is the height of collaboration, and the fact that it is web-based helps me feel like my work is safe and not as risk of getting completely lost (though some may disagree). I have made great use of Google Docs and Google sites especially within drive, which are very shareable and great places to house information. I like that I can control access in terms of viewing and editing, and can choose these options for drafts of websites and published versions alike. Aesthetically speaking, too, Drive's presentations of its offerings (docs, slides, etc) is visually cohesive, which makes me feel like I'm in the same platform and that I somewhat know what I'm doing when I enter a potentially new space within the software.

CONS

Sometimes, it is hard to find. What I mean by this - there seems to be an older version of say, Google Sites, that I might access from a gmail account. However, when I go to my gmail account and hit Google Sites, it seems to take me to the old version. I have many times panicked that my sites in progress don't exist in this location, only to remember that I have to go to google drive first (a separate icon in the same grouping of icons to choose from) and from there go into Google Sites, which presents as a newer, cleaner version and where my sites are housed. It doesn't make sense that there would be an umbrella location like Google Drives to house sites, docs, sheets, slides, etc, only to have those same icons elsewhere linking to something else (specifically with sites), knowing that people often access from gmail accounts where these are all lumped together. It's very confusing. Also, not really a clear way to work offline, but usually just work in a google doc and upload when there's connection. For sites and slides, though, this is harder to do offline. Sites, within drive, should have more flexible options and tools for customizing. I only have about 3 colors that I can choose from for buttons and headings and the like, and only a few fonts, font sizes, shapes and layouts that the site will accommodate. It's a very basic version of something that has enormous potential for customization, especially considering its convenient location within Google Drive.

The Ultimate Tool for Anyone With a Laptop

For any student, especially with how much group work is being expected, Google Drive is a great way to organize all the shared documents (as well as personal documents!) I always recommend people to use Google Docs for the benefit of saved storage space, and once you get those documents accumulated Google drive has a great way to organize them and share them in bulk as well.

PROS

- Saves on storage This stores all of the files added on into the cloud, and even if you don't subscribe to add on more storage, the starting amount is quite large (15GB!) I have been using this for 8 years and have yet to run out of space- but pro tip: this storage space does include your Gmail, so if you are ever running out of space just go and do a quick dump of the promotional/social emails that tend to take up a lot of space - Easier to share LARGE files (and small files too!) When you try to share some larger files, it can take so long if you try to do it the old-fashioned way (USB, etc) but with Drive, you can very easily just send them permission to the file to their email, and even the upload is much faster compared to normal speeds. - Very easy to organize With how laptops tend to organize things (downloads folder vs documents folder vs the madness of "tags") this is a great way to just be able to have your files put all in one place, with as many folders and color coordination schemes you want. You can even choose to share whole folders or sub-folders with people very easily! (which comes in handy for me, since I often share personal notes from classes all at once rather than individually)

CONS

In order to get full functionality out of this, you need to be a heavy Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets user. Otherwise, it's not worth putting in the time to organize and file as much.

Google Drive is a wonderful short-term solution to cloud storage requirements

Google Drive is an immensely useful software for professionals getting started with cloud storage, especially for students. The ability to dynamically sync files from your phone and computer makes this a must-have cloud utility for everyone.

PROS

A fantastic product when it first came into being, Google Drive is the first go-to for a college student such as myself when uploading photos or documents to the cloud. The ability to share files with other users via a link with the added ability to set write privileges for the recipient makes it a wonderfully easy to understand as well as powerful tool. What I like most about Google Drive, however, is the Backup and Sync feature, which lets the user set up folders on his computer that are dynamically backed up to the drive and hence accessible from any device. Another great, yet similar feature is the ability to set up Google photos such that every picture one clicks on their phone is immediately backed up to the drive. Overall, Google drive is an amazing software that I would highly recommend, especially to fellow students such as myself.

CONS

There are a few drawbacks to Google drive. One is the limited amount of storage available for free users (15 GB gets used awfully fast when you take backups onto your drive ), but there is additional storage available if you are a student. Another bug that frequents drive, is that when you share access privileges to a file with another person, it sometimes doesn't work, and the person has to request access to the document again. This has more to do with the cookies on the browser than the Drive itself, but can still be quite frustrating at times.

Google Drive Review

One of the benefits if not more i get from using Google Drive, is the trust and security; as a user i am always relieved that my files and docs are stored securely on Google Drive with 2-step authentication i have the ability to add extra layers of security. Also, Google Drive is always readily available there is no down time, or i haven't had any issue upload file in Google Drive. I urge users out there to use Google Drive because it is secure, easy to use, available all the time, its free up to 15 GB storage, and so much to offer. I have been using Google Drive for almost 5+ years since it came out on the market in 2012.

PROS

Google Drive is one of the best cloud base storage out there that offers 15GB free storage that is if you have any account with Google, Google Drive comes with the part of Gmail account if users have it. What i like about Google Drive, easier to upload, store, edit, save documents, upload any file format, download option easy to use to save files any any device, or easily preview an file directly from Google Drive, and Google Drive app is available in almost any device these day, i can also immediately scan a document within Google Drive app and it shows me a preview of the file i scanned if it looks good i can save else i can re-scan and get a better picture of the document. For those who have Google Drive 15gb is enough to store files, and folders, but there is always the ability to add more storage that's if you are willing to pay for it of course. Moreover, Google Drive customer support isn't as readily available when you need it, but their online forum page you can post a question and you can get a reply from a Google Drive associate within a days or so.

CONS

Google Drive does not have the ability to lock down files automatically for particular users who are within a group that i create on Google Drive to share files.

Google Drive Review

Google Drive offers a user-friendly and accessible platform for cloud-based storage, collaboration, and productivity. Its seamless integration with other Google services such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides make it a very versatile platform for individual and collaborative work. Furthermore, its large storage capacity, accessibility from any device with an internet connection, and ability to share and collaborate on documents in real-time make it a popular choice for individuals and organizations alike. Of course, as with any platform, there may be some limitations or concerns that some users have with Google Drive. However, overall, it is a widely used and well-regarded cloud-based storage and collaboration platform.

PROS

Some of the features that I appreciate about Google Drive include its ease of use, accessibility from any device with an internet connection, large storage capacity, and ability to share and collaborate on documents in real-time. Additionally, Google Drive integrates seamlessly with other Google services such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, making it a very versatile platform for productivity and collaboration.

CONS

I have concerns about the security and privacy of my data when using cloud-based storage platforms such as Google Drive. Additionally, I find the storage limitations of the free version of Google Drive to be a limitation, as larger storage needs require a paid subscription. Finally, while Google Drive is generally easy to use, some users may find the interface to be somewhat cluttered or confusing, particularly if they are new to the platform.

Reliability versatility and cost all worth one

I can't complain. It's very versatile, easy and everyone knows it how to use it. That being said, because I maximize that two terabytes for the cloud per year about $500 to 1,000 annually. You do get perks such as exclusive software, VPN by Google. You get free web dark scans to make sure your not vulnerable on the dark web etc

PROS

I feel like I shouldn't even have to explain this but the way it's laid out over the years. Your teaching yourself how to use without even noticing it's very. Subprime

CONS

Would say a long time ago. Couple years it was a little bit laggy but now compared more cloud base storage and cost I cannot complain. There's no recoil at this point

Reasons for switching to Google Drive

It would took a more space and it may have more features but it didn't need to be that much extra for what was needed. I would still maybe should have outlook for academical feature
