SourceScrub is an investment management software designed to help businesses analyze key metrics including the number of employees, leadership team members and website traffic to connect with privately held companies. The platform enables administrators to capture the contact information of relevant personnel and receive alerts on events and announcements related to prospects.

Best tool for identifying potential investment opportunities

SourceScrub has allowed my firm to take a more efficient approach to identify and contact leading companies that appear to be attractive investment opportunities based on company data and information available on the platform. Successfully leveraged the platform to identify and establish contact with a company that we ultimately invested in ~6 months after initial point of contact.

Pros

The best platform available for company and executive contact research/identification with highly reliable and accurate data that integrates with leading CRM platforms.

Cons

Not the cheapest game in town, but worth the investment if using on a regular basis.

SourceScrub Review

Sourcescrub has been very useful to our firm for sourcing new deal opportunities and doing thematic sourcing work. The team is also amazing - always very responsive and there to help work around all your needs.

Pros

Great tool for sourcing new companies and finding available data. Also data plugs directly into CRM, which makes it easy to figure out what private data you have on the company, if you've met them, etc. Plug in feature to your web browser is also really helpful to easily understand data points on the company.

Cons

Would be useful if you could integrate the software directly into email, so you can update and view companies while you are in your email directly. I think a few other providers have this function.

SourceScrub Review

Overall it is much easier to source potential investments and screen them quickly. Automates what used to be very manual process (i.e. excel spreadsheets, crunchbase, checking Linkedin, etc.). Would definitely recommend to anyone in growth equity / venture capital

Pros

Easy to track companies and manage a pipeline for potential investments. Chrome add-in is great; you click the sidebar and you get information on the size of company, investors, number of employees, brief description, etc.

Cons

Search function in-app can be difficult because you need the exact legal / incorporation name to find the company you are searching for. Much easier to enter the URL and use the chrome add-in

A Big Time Saver

A very good software system overall, I had just used it out.

Pros

When searching for companies in a given vertical, it had very good tools to narrow down your search. It had almost all semi-major conferences and had contact info for basically all companies. It was a big time saver when searching for new companies to search for.

Cons

No, major bugs really. It just becomes marginally useful with time, especially where a lot of others in the market use it as well.
