Accounting Software

PROS

My firm made the switch to this software for our billing and we do not regret it! Everything is streamlined and easy to use.

CONS

I have yet to try out all the features, and I could probably use a tutorial.

Very happy with Coyote

PROS

Coyote is easy to use and it's easy to get at, export and manipulate data, as needed. It also has a very useful dashboard feature that allows attorneys real-time access to billing data which frees up our billing team to work on other billing and financial tasks. Their paperless billing feature (bill editor) has been a game changer for us, and we also like the Compliance Rules which help with LEDES billing compliance.

CONS

There's really not much we dislike about Coyote. There are additional features that could be added, which we've suggested, and we hope they do. They were recently purchased by SurePoint, so we're also hoping that SurePoint continues to improve the product and work with Coyote's loyal customer base.

Reasons for switching to Coyote Analytics

Our version of Timeslips was end-of-life and Timeslips was pushing customers onto their subscription model, and we wanted to move to a product that combined billing and accounting in one piece of software, and that also made the paperless billing process easier.

Good for a smaller firm

Many smaller firms are wanting the business intelligence that larger firms are used to having. Unfortunately Coyote doesn't deliver just yet. They are however evolving almost daily, adding features and fixing bugs.

PROS

Coyote's after-sale customer service is exceptional.

CONS

Coyote struggles to match what is offered by larger more mature products.

Solid Practice Management software for mid sized firm

Overall, positive experience. The devs have made great strides in building useful functionality into the software and their integrations are thoughtful and thorough.

PROS

What i like most about Coyote is their ability to create useful workflows and user paths in the software.

CONS

I wish it had a newer version of their reporting tool, ActiveReports.

Reason for choosing Coyote Analytics

Price, functionality, reporting tools, integration with existing DMS (Worldox), potential for paper-less billing.

Where day-to-day practice management meets KPI's for your ROI

The conflict of interest and practice management sections make for a more robust handling of potential new clients and ensure professional liability standards are met.

PROS

The software was clearly written by folks familiar with working in a law firm environment. Both from admin/management level to practicing attorneys to everyday support staff. Ease of functionality combined with extensibility to Outlook and Excel make this a great platform for anyone needing to service their lawfirm's time, billing and financial functions.

CONS

The layout of the contact management portion was cumbersome for our legacy of client/matter data. The options were very limiting with the billing formats chosen and provided for the initial tier pricing.

Reason for choosing Coyote Analytics

Better support and value for the price.

Reasons for switching to Coyote Analytics

[SENSITIVE CONTENT] was at end of development and support was very limited. Coyote was a developed product that we had considered for a few months before deciding to purchase. Glad that we did!
