Configio is a membership management systemthat provides a way for businesses to build their own curriculum for online courses. The program includes exams, chapters, assignments, and syllabi within a web-based format accessible from any connected device via any web browser.
With Configio, each user is able to access course content through task lists, surveys, and interactive videos, among other formats. Both learners and instructors are reminded about overdue course items and exams, and the system can also require specific courses to be completed before more advanced sections are unlocked.
In addition, instructors gain access to their own web portal to view assignments, update course content, manage grades, and view each learner for each course. Tests, quizzes, and exams are automatically graded and allow instructors to set attempt limits, order questions, and apply overrides.

With My Custom Events we could get easy to read reports and counts for all of our events. Customer Service is extremely helpful in customizing our site for us. If you need any changes, They are right on it. My Custom Events is very user friendly for the admin as well as the consumer.
Navagating through the back site was a little confusing in the beginning, but once customer service walked me through it, it was great.

Our team had some issues learning the ins and outs of Configio initially, but their customer support gets a grade of 10/10 from me. Overall, we settled with Configio as our to-go e-commerce software for event registrations, shopping carts and many more tools they offer.
As previously discussed, a con of Configio is the steep learning curve, but their customer service representatives are very knowledgeable and technical, and so it makes the transition and learning period so much easier.

I have been with Configio Software for three years, and each year the customer support and software development teams work diligently to make the software more user friendly to our customers. Support is ALWAYS available (even when we are in the heat of an issue at 8AM EST) and are always friendly in their replies. The software itself has served all of our camp needs, and you better believe we've requested some complicated items! (Like a scheduling process for 200 campers ONLINE!)

I would like to see improvements to make the software more user friendly. The challenge of being able to tackle so many software components is a task within itself. However the design elements of creating product forms / lists / etc. have to be more straight forward so that a 5 year old could figure it out. My suggestions would be a step by step method on building products and addressing various features.

My organization, a large community hospital, had a need to provide online registration for all kinds of classes, seminars, screenings, and continuing education events. Some of these are ongoing, such as monthly childbirth classes. Others are one-day events, such as heart screenings. These events draw people of all ages, including a significant population of people who don't use email. Figuring out how to register the no-email population was the kicker for us. Not only did the Configio software make this possible, the extensive training the customer support staff provided gave me all the help I needed to set up a process that answered our every need. Every time I've reached out to customer support for questions, they have been extremely responsive. In the one instance where we had to request custom coding, Configio's developers provided just what we needed in a timely manner. The software's reporting features also have worked very well for us in providing class/event rosters with custom information that helps us manage our events very well. I gave it five stars in every category except Ease of Use. The only reason that has a four-star rating is because it has a lot of bells and whistles to learn. But its complexity is what makes it great, so I don't consider that to be a detriment. And, I do feel that my training was more than adequate to thoroughly cover the program. I recommend Configio without hesitation.
It has a way to manage every registration "curve" we've thrown at it.
This is not a "con," but be aware that it does take some time to learn the software, although with terrific training and support.

I find the cloning of items with variations still involves too much work in terms of having to set up all of the dates info for each session three times if you have three variations. Also, I find the newsletter creation to be to cumbersome and prone to formatting gaffes when inserting and copying info from prior newsletters.

Last fall, our parent company notified our department we would be getting a great, new class registration system. We were so very pleased because the system we were currently using was old, slow, and did not allow for online registration. I don't like that all the emails come from one email address from the system. I would like to do a better job tailoring the emails to align with my organization.
Take the time necessary for training. It's so robust that it's easy to miss something that would be helpful if you go too fast. The developers have thought of many things and I'm getting benefits from applying for their hard work.

It was a bit overwhelming when I first started learning it, but you soon realize that it is set up to be user-friendly and after a few days it all starts to make sense. I find my self-navigating so easily now and everything makes sense.

Configio has allowed our young organization to both streamline basic functions (such as email communications, event management, and webstore), as well as begin to grow into other functions and processes (such as learning management systems) within the same webspace.
Customer service is very responsive and friendly, and development required for customized functions has been very detailed, straightforward, responsive to sprint changes, and delivered on time (if not sooner) than promised.
I typically hesitate to give any company top ratings in all categories, but Configio is head of the class in every case.

- The learning curve for Configio is daunting at first, but you soon realize that each different piece functions similarly in process to the others. Most everything, once learned, can be applied to other features. After the initial training session and some time spent on your own, this 'con' is non-existent.
- At times it's difficult to know where to look for certain options, but that's only because of how robust the system is; regardless, options are laid out as straightforward as possible, with minimal 'clicks' to get to what you need. Additionally, the knowledge base is extensive and customer service is always happy to direct you to what you need if/when you're unable to find what's needed in the help documentation.
Initially, our organization found Configio when looking soley for an alternative for the platform we were using for event registration. When we began evaluating it, we realized it could do as well or better than other services we were paying for, saving us time and cost.
It's highly recommended even if you're looking for a single solution for any of these functions: online sales platform, document housing, event registration, email communication, or learning management system. If you're using or have need to use any of the other features, there's no reason not to use Configio.
