Roins Produce is a full line food service company in the Chicago area that has been around for over 35 years. We have used different software companies in the past that we thought were good until we started using EIC software. A few big factors for us were the price levels and price memory features that would show you the price of the item last sold on the order entry as you're placing the order for the costumer. EIC can do other things as well, like routing trucks as well as letting you know how many packages can fit on a truck by size and weight per box. What I like about using EIC is that if there was something I did not like about any of the features, they can customize anything to your liking. We only changed a few things to help us out. The bottom line is I researched about 8 different software companies prior to making my decision, but EIC offers a lot more features than other companies. It's also not a monthly charge, it's a one-time fee and they're always coming out with new tools to help us run our business more smoothly.

Drench-Mate starting using the EIC system in March of 2011 mainly for invoicing, manufacturing, and inventory because the current system we were on had way to many issues and was very limited in tracking inventory properly. Drench-Mate has been serving the dairy industry for the past 12 years. The main focus is the manufacture of equipment and minerals for producers. Currently there isn’t any software product out there that can deliver the features that EIC software can for manufacturing and keeping track of your inventory real time. These are key components of our business and EIC software has allowed us to focus on growing our business verses fighting our software program in figuring out our inventory daily. Drench-Mate feels that EIC software is by far the best solution to help any business focus on the things that matter and have the software work for the company and not against it like Quick Books. Drench-Mate would recommend the EIC software to any distributor in any industry.

WORST COMPANY EVER. [sensitive content hidden] IS a SCAM ARTIST!!!

HORRIBLE. [sensitive content hidden] took so much money from us, and 2+ years after suffering through this trainwreck program we finally switched to another company.

PROS

Nothing.

CONS

EVERYTHING! [sensitive content hidden] sold us on this program with so many promises, and he couldn't follow through with any of them. He came out to implement our program with his "team" of people, literally himself with no other co-workers. We found out later he was the only employee (not what was promised). Every single aspect of this company was a scam, and for 2+ years it literally ruined our lives. We bought scanners and label printers from him that didn't work. About 3/4 of the features of the program didn't work. Any "customer service" questions we wanted were answered days after we needed help. [sensitive content hidden] was the only employee of his company and couldn't even answer the questions we asked (he designed the entire program himself).

Reasons for switching to EIC Software

Because the [sensitive content hidden] of this company scammed us with multiple lies and empty promises.

Do NOT use no matter what, SCAM

Overall the worst experience of our life. I'm writing this just so no one else needs to go through what we had to go through of wasting an enormous amount of money and having extreme frustration and a program that constantly glitched and was down and extremely slow. I now believe all the other 1 star review because we lived it. There is no "team" with this company it's just one guy the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and he does not respond to calls txt emails etc. Problems carried on for weeks and we couldn't get help. We are a simple food distributor and this program couldn't do basic functions and there was no support. Since this we paid a little more for a real software company and couldn't be happier.

PROS

Nothing it never worked properly after 3 years of promises.

CONS

The demo videos and meeting made it seems like it was great and everything worked good however the program was missing so many pieces from we were shown. We were told he rolled it out in stages but after 3 years we never got additional features besides the very basics of entering orders and doing purchases orders. The accounting system does not work it was a total nightmare and the program constantly crashes and moves extremely slow.

Vendor Response

There are many very satisfied customers - some larger, some smaller than this one. It is very curious how this review was just submitted out of the blue after work hours, after not hearing from them for three years. Successful ERP installations/projects are a combination of so many factors (people, healthy & unhealthy personalities, budgets, hardware, networking equipment, accounting companies, banks, etc., etc.). If you are looking for real references, please give us a call - we can point you to many successful and positive people who own food distribution companies and have been using EIC for well over 20 years.

Fourteen months into it. The worst software I've ever used.

PROS

There's not much. The software is very poorly designed. Almost every aspect of the software is slow, buggy, and frustrating. Functions break down almost weekly if not daily. Once (and if) a repair is done, it tends to break down again 99% of the chance in the near future. Permanent solutions are not provided by owner/operator. Customer service is close to non-existent. The list goes on and on.

CONS

Almost everything. We used this software for a little over 14 months now. Everyday we struggle with it. A lot of basic functions are still not built in. The functions that are built in break down constantly and repeatedly. This software is operated by a single person. There's little to no support. The owner/operator does not reply to 95% of the emails and phone calls.

Vendor Response

CORFINI GOURMET owed part of the original software purchase price and a YEAR worth of support at the time the controller and her subordinate wrote these reviews. The controller, did not like that we refused to do any more work until they paid in full. She also didn’t like that we uncovered some suspicious journal entries and brought them to the owner’s attention. She, and her employee wrote these reviews simply as an attempt to hurt EIC. As the owner of EIC, I felt that a year of free support was more than enough and it was time for the situation to change. After a week of their support being turned off, the owner of CORFINI GOURMET decided that EIC was absolutely essential to running their business and he paid in full (without the controller's knowledge) and he replaced her as our point of contact with someone much more qualified. The owner, would surely let this controller go if he could find a way without her destroying his company on the way out. The controller graduated from a community college with no real-world accounting experience. This is is her first job out of college and she has been trying to pass the CPA exam for a few years now but has failed every time. Her lack of experience led to substantial problems on their financial statements - she simply covers this up with her screaming and her questionable journal entries - it is a shame, because the company has so many other quality people and products. Many times, installing a new ERP system will bring to light power struggles within a company; this was certainly one of those scenarios. I would encourage people to call Corfini Gourmet and ask for the owner, the marketing department manager, or the warehouse manager — they can shed some light on these slanderous reviews.

EIC: Review

PROS

The color pallet is cool, neutral tones. Very soothing.

CONS

EIC barely functions. EIC promised our company a software that would cover the needs of our cutting room, inventory and invoicing team, sales, and accounting. None of these departments have had their needs met. We were promised 24/7 support, yet it takes over five emailed requests for assistance to receive a reply. There are unresolved issues dating back to launch, over a year ago, that have yet to be addressed. We were not given any resources to learn to use EIC. They will occasionally send a video walking us through a new module, but any individual exploration risks the entire system crashing.

Contact for advice before buying

PROS

I've been in the food distribution and food manufacturing industry for 35 years. I've worked for large publicly held corporations (30,000+ employees) to small privately owned companies (20 to 75 employees) now owning my own business. I've experienced many software systems and feel I have a great understanding on what is needed to run a successful business.

CONS

I can help with advice if this is the right system for you. Feel free to email me to schedule a meeting.[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]

Ok if you are small

If you are anything larger that a very small company I would not use this product. It looks like it should work. Has fields and menus that you would think work because they are there, many of them have no programing associated with them. Getting an accurate inventory count was impossible, product would get added or subtracted and could not track the reason why. Myself and my warehouse manager have over 10 years each working with and maintaining inventory. We still could not get the inventory correct for more than one or two days. Receiving was manual, had to be done by a clerk could not use scan guns. Scan guns would stop working on regular basis and need to be reset.

PROS

Basic functions fairly simple to learn. I don't have any good things to say, and I am required to use 100 characters.

CONS

Inventory would not track slots. Moving product slots very challenging. Unable to utilize system to reduce labor for things such as receiving or transferring products from fresh to frozen. System needed continual resets, would slowdown to nonfunctional or freeze all together. Tech support would get back to you at his convenience, many times had to stop working and wait because the system was not functioning. Database would get corrupted often.

George's Distributing has used EIC Software for the past 13 years. We hired EIC to help us through the Y2K scare - which seems a little silly now! At that time George's Distributing was a broad-line food distributor covering only a portion of the state of Montana. 12 years ago we branched out into the wine/beer industry. 4 years ago we sold our food distribution company and now concentrate on wine and beer. Throughout this time, EIC has evolved with the needs of our company. In the last 2 years, our company has grown into one of the largest wine/beer distribution companies in Montana. EIC is in the process of developing a fantastic software system that is specific to our industry. For example, wine distributors require a high level of reporting both internally and externally (to the state and to our vendors). We also require high-tech software that adapts to iPhones and iPads for our sales representatives. EIC now has an "app" that we purchase over iTunes just for our company. Over the last few years, EIC has learned the "language" of the wine/beer world to develop a software package tailored to the specific needs of our industry. I marked Functionality at a 3 because we are still in the test/development phase and have a few bugs to work out. I'm confident that in a few months we would change that to a 4 or 5. Now this software is ready for other wine/beer distributors of our size. I would recommend this software to others in the food or wine/beer distribution industry.
