Unless you have a tech department willing to invest time into the api it is hard to do your own in depth analytics out of the box or connect the software to other systems.

I have encountered many organizations that purchased Blackbaud Software without being properly trained. As a result, they become frustrated with the product which leads to negative comments.

Sometimes, the updates mess up small items. It may be minor, but it's just annoying.

We are able to better project our budget and plan for the future.

Interfaces with our Fund Raising software (Raiser's Edge, I am equally thrilled with that too, and mostly for the same reasons cited herein).

Running reports can be difficult when wanting different information to show.

I am not able to use papersave with it just yet so the drag and drop/ upload feature is obsolete to me.

I love the fact that you can create journal entries and invoices and include that information in reports before posting them. This helps to avoid mistakes.

At the end of the day Blackbaud wants your success with their software and they offer the solution in awesome training opportunities.

So many ways in which FE is the best solution out there. I love how it integrates and makes each task seamless.

Lack of a self-service audit trail. The interface is not intuitive.

The integration with Raisers Edge is critical. It's helpful that the interface is so similar to RE, making it easier to understand.

This is for Big companies with Big staffs. No need to reach for this unless you have the size and infrastructure to support this solution.

Updates sometime cause changes in the queries and or account that need to be updated. If I do not check the updates, my reporting could go wrong.

Integration with the Raiser’s Edge is excellent and has really streamlined our organization’s processes. General ledge functionality is easy and intuitive for the user.

The features that this offers for reporting are just insane.

The software clearly has a lot of capabilities. If you are a large organization with lots of time and money to burn, you can get some value out of this.

The system is very robust and requires thorough implementation due diligence to make sure everything is set up appropriately, but overall it is a great, sophisticated product.

The software is easy to use, has so many features, integrates with Raiser's Edge, PaperSave, and so many other products. The vendor is awesome and the online chat and in-person support is excellent.

It's very easy to search for an invoice. I like how you can quickly access a recently viewed vendor.

A/P is simple and easy to accomplish. The fixed asset module works great.

Help and support tools / resources are great. Chat support is responsive and gets a solution to the problem.

The product has a lot of features for fund, grant and project management which is totally necessary for our organization. The learning resources are rich, the technical support team is fabulous.

The payroll module is, by far, the worst part of Financial Edge. Short of entering each employees' time manually each day, there was no way to keep daily time records.

It's web-based format is simple to use and navigate. The product is quick and responsive and their GUI does a good job at delivering content in an easy to see/read format.
