Amazing support and great adaptability

PROS

I love that as a 'non-tech' person, I was able to rebrand our intranet with the help of our graphic designer (she has a great eye for what colours to use). I had to reference support blogs a few times, but there wasn't anything I didn't feel comfortable doing. I also really like the support that is available. They get back to you very fast and help work issues out. And honestly, most of my issues were that I wanted to something different, not that an issue with the software. We were able to successfully rebrand our intranet. I like the ability to create different applications and that you can be pretty creative if you put your mind to it. We created a "shout out" app and didn't need to do anything special. It was as simple as adding certain fields to an app and adjusting the layout. Once you start to use the software a bit more, you realize most of the applications are the same base.

CONS

Although the simplicity is great, when it comes to the theme design, there are some items connected together that I wish weren't for example, if you change a colour of a title it could also change the colour in the mega menu. My designer also wanted more ability to change icons around, without having to do that for coding. A little more ability to customize would be nice. The theme editor was also confusing at first and I had to some trial and error to figure out what items were affected. The other annoying thing is that if you want to move files from one app to another or into a new site, you have to download everything and re-upload. I found the multi-upload feature hard to use too, so I ended up adding most files one by one. Moving 200 + files that way is very time-consuming, although worth it in the end!

Excellent features and functionality

The service is excellent and a really good third party to work with

PROS

I feel this product is an overall package. You can invest in intranets that don't offer the same wide range of functionality that intranet connections does. The benefits of this platform and the things you can achieve with it are extensive. The forms with the logic and workflows are excellent

CONS

The calendars could do with being more user friendly with regards to being able to customise field names and a better a GUI. We'd really like to use these for car bookings and holiday bookings where each day needs to be approved individually before updating one of your forms.

Reason for choosing Intranet Connections

The functionality versus the price was clearly the best by far

Inexpensive Intranet Solution, Difficult User Experience

Truly none. I;d love to be able to use it for employee engagement and kudos, etc. But it's stagnant.

PROS

We don't have to host or upkeep our own system anymore.

CONS

The user experience on this product is SO Difficult. SO SO Difficult. I feel like it takes me forever to make changes, and it's not intuitive for others to be able to post or to find things. We have a number of different tutorials created for people who need to blog or update documents, etc. It's also easy for things to get out of date or hidden. The options for the user-facing site are so limited. It looks really dry and boring. And the engagement portion is tough, too. You can't like a comment or reply to a comment or make them stand out ion any way. So engagement is really low.

Reasons for switching to Intranet Connections

We were hosting internally, and wanted an off-the-shelf solution.

Great Intranet Value

Very good experience from date of first working with IC 8+ years ago to the present time.

PROS

Company responsiveness to business needs and system's ability to meet our intranet requirements.

CONS

Needs a better way to test updates before applying to production environment.

Reason for choosing Intranet Connections

IC completely met our needs for significantly smaller investment.

Intranet Connections @ Topside

My experience with the individuals at Intranet Connections has always been positive. They are always cheery and very informed. I have had the pleasure of speaking with the [sensitive content hidden], on multiple occasions, and you can tell that he genuinely cares for the product and is informed on some of the most technical details that I would normally assume only backend technicians would feel confident outlining. The representatives I have worked with have also been great and have clearly communicated concerns/bugs to the relevant department. They keep us informed on updates, changes, etc. without us having to reach out first, which is always appreciated.

PROS

My favorite thing about IC Thrive is the timely and communicative support we receive on a consistent basis. Any issue is promptly assigned and worked by a tech, with resolutions typically taking less than a week to be implemented.Another great point is that they do take into consideration user suggestions; many ideas or systems that we have suggested or implemented into our own environment have been adopted into the IC workflow and/or scheduled for future updates. You can tell that they truly do care for their userbase and are always looking for ways to improve their own systems.

CONS

[My thoughts/review do not represent the entirety of the Organization]I have had some difficulty in figuring out where to find certain settings/features. Some of the layouts and workflows are quite involved, and while the knowledge base is very helpful, you'll always find something unique that you are attempting that is not outlined. Support is quick to help, but some of the systems are not as intuitive as they could be, in my opinion (the layout of settings, for example.)I will mention that a lot of the critiques I have voiced to the team have been implemented into future patches/updates, which I have previewed. So, while they may not be as intuitive as possible now, I do not expect this to be the case long-term.
