About Google Keep


Google Keep is a cloud-based note-taking and to-do list management solution that can be accessed via a mobile app for Android & iOS devices, a Chrome extension or through a web version. It allows users to categorize notes by various topics and then search them by keyword. Labels or color codes can be added to the notes in order to organize and quickly retrieve them.

Google Keep helps the users in sharing ideas with friends, family and colleagues since it allows collaboration in real time. Users can also record a voice memo and Google Keep will transcribe it so that it can be searched from time to time. It also allows users to set reminders for notes at a particular time or when they reach a particular place.

Notes captured via Google Keep can be converted to a Google Doc, which means that users can expand notes to full-fledged documents. Multiple notes can be consolidated and imported into a single document.

Excellent note-taking tool/bookmarking tool with cool labelling/search functions

Pros

Excellent search capabilities (it is powered by Google, after all) - If I save a note with "flight" or "hotel" and then search in my Keep for "travel", it recognizes that that note (which doesn't say "travel") is related.

Easy labeling capabilities. Click to label something to find all notes under that label. Or, if you know which of your already-existing labels you want to use, just # your label and it will apply it. I.e. #recipes

Easy to use. Archive function is nice. Pin important notes on top for easy access. Color code your notes. Checkbox option, where you check it and it will move to the bottom is great.

Integrates with Google Assistant really well. I.e. "add milk to my grocery list" and it will find my Google Keep "grocery list" and add "milk" to the bottom. Works great!

Cons

I wish there was the capability to apply bolding, italicizing and other forms of emphasizing. Or increase font size. Something to differentiate different sections besides entering lines between. It's nice that it's simple and you don't have to mess around with that, but one easy way to add "headers" or something would be nice.

Tracking your notes have never been so simple

Overall, having in mind it's a free tool, it's surprisingly useful and simple to use. I have tried several tools like this one and Google Keep is still the best one in my opinion.

Pros

Google Keep has been one of my daily driver tools at work and for personal use. There are several solutions for notes in the market, but what makes Google Keep so special and unbeatable is the simplicity and the fact that you get lots of great functionalities for free; considering the fact that you need to pay on other solutions to have the same functionalities that Keep already has. Another of the greatest capabilities from Keep is the ability to have all your notes, lists, voice messages, draws, etc. syncronized on all your devices and being able to have access to all of them via web browser. Isn't that great?

Cons

It gets really hard to find something I don't like about Keep, but I believe Google Keep can improve the organization of your notes. If you have hundreds of notes, it will be hard to find the right note and search can get a little slow while having lots of notes. Google should find out a better way to organize your notes.

Great tool to keep your notes.

Otherwise, it is a great tool for simple and intuitive functions are not overloaded with a minimalist interface and does not require a long study, which is very encouraging, especially if you need to quickly get involved in the work.

Pros

Love this app for taking notes so that in the first place is not overloaded with unnecessary features, has an intuitive interface. Wide range of created notes audio, photo, handwritten, the ability to create a list of things and reminders. By hanging labels, you can merge notes into different categories. There is also a function of joint work on the notes. For easy visual difference, you can paint them in different colors. You can manage notes both through an application that is available for a wide range of operating systems, as well as through a simple browser from any device from anywhere in the world.

Cons

Of the minuses can be noted only one when you create lists such as shopping and then crossing off the products from the list, they are going below supposedly for a subsequent return in the following list to accelerate its completion, but in this cluster there are duplicates which are just piling up and have to be removed manually.

Take note.

It's nice to be able to keep track of different things for different occasions from different places. I always have Google Keep pinned so I can save videos, art, websites, Wikipedia articles, screenshots and otherwise.

Pros

Take any bit of information you want to save, be it a website, image, video, text snippet, code, doodle or otherwise, and Google Keep will store it safely. Use tags to organize the type of notes you keep, use colors to give them distinction, and add things like lists and text hierarchy to keep even more organized. It syncs between devices and allows collaboration, has an archive you can store old notes in, and also allows for reminders to be set. I think it might even work with Google Assistant for quick notes.

Cons

There's no option to secure notes in case you need to share sensitive information, or hide information from nearby eyes. Typing a pound sign (#) automatically starts a label even if you're just trying to number things. Interface feels smooth, yet clunky in areas, and can take some time to load.

A concise tool for your stream of thoughts, tasks or pointers!

Google Keep is not different from a basic note-making software. What possibly one would definitely appreciate is the user-interface that has been designed to give a quick-jot-down-of-points feel. It is almost as if, you are tucking a series of "sticky notes" (like the Google Keep logo itself displays) on a large canvas and you have put down pointers on each of those small sticky notes. It truly sells what it promises - a concise tool to jot down your consecutive stream of thoughts, tasks or just about anything!

Pros

I am not much of a "digital" person unless I am forced to. This implies that I have always used notebooks for making notes and jotting down quick pointers for anything up on my mind. After using a couple of note making software, Google Keep is surely my favourite primarily because it is so much fun to use beside being so user-friendly!
1) Helps list down task in a traditional check list form. The best part is, you can actually "check" the boxes for the tasks/pointers done and they automatically get moved to your "Ticked Items"; such a sifting greatly organises work
2) Titling the list - Implying I can have separate list for each individual work. Recently, I was travelling out-station for a cousin's wedding and this tool proved extremely helpful as my schedule was really tight and listing down important stuff in quick pointers helped me put things together
3) The tool provides a "canvas". As the name suggests, you can draw, write and do just about anything there with a digital pen and colours. Very smooth to use and I love the fact that I can share the canvas through other platforms. In fact, each thing you do in Google Keep can be shared via other apps which is extremely useful
4) Option to customise your notes

Cons

There is a separate tab to create "Reminders". I don't understand how are 'Reminders' any different from general notes that one otherwise creates in the app. It is not a con. Perhaps, I have not completely understood it's utility yet!

Very easy and now you can bring your post its with you

Pros

So unbelievably easy
it's basically like bringing around your post its with you in your phone. I used to be a person who lives off of post its. It's basically the way that I do anything. My constantly changing schedule and to do lists relied on a very simple system of writing out each to do list and separating it into each individual task BUT then I realized that some tasks were related to other tasks. Google Keep has thought of that too. It gives you an option to write it separately and linked and listed down similar to how a list is set up.
Its completely free!
color coded options and you can see what you crossed off

Cons

Sometimes, you can have a lot on your list and it never really replaces the feeling of you throwing away the sheets of paper once you've accomplished something, but it's as close as you can go with it
The drawing option doesn't work well with iphones because their isn't a pen involved so the written notes look like children scribbles. No way to get really clear on it.

A DIGITAL NOTEPAD TO KEEP

Moreover, I highly recommend this app for people who are not fond of bringing notebooks or mostly forgetting to bring one (that's me) This google keep is worth the keep!

Pros

What I love about this product is how easy to use its features. It has cool data sync that backs up my notes up from the very first time I used it. It gives me access to my synced notes to my desktop and any device that has my gmail account linked in. Also, I love the way each note could be changed its color and somehow adapts the customized font that I apply to my device. The labels are also a good note. It works like a hashtag wherein the labeled notes are grouped into one place. I also appreciate that saves your recently deleted notes. that way, I could easily restore those notes that I just accidentally erased.

Cons

I just hope google keeps can improve their notes by having customized font style and font size feature, in that way, I could easily identify and distinguish the headings from the subtitles. Also aside from the "translate" feature when a word is highlighted, it would be much of great help if there would be a "definition" or "synonym" feature since that is way more beneficial for us second language users of ENGLISH

Google Keep for your Thoughts!

Pros

Free!! What's not to love, as that is my favorite word in terms of great products right at my finger tips! You can change colors of your notes, add an image, and set reminders to your notes. You can archive your notes, create labels for organizational purposes, and send feedback to support. You can customize your settings that work for you and again, did I mention Google Keep is free?!!

Cons

Free services are the best, but there are perks if other services are offered to give the user options. However, working with educators, free items are a great tool and a way to get a product out there. There are really no cons with Google Keep if you are an avid Google user and this is super simple, and easy to use. There is no training required making this great all around!

Best Note App for Everyday Use

My favorite note and task app of the many different ones that I've tried, and it's free!

Pros

Two words that sum up what makes this app so great are "simple" and "easy". The simplicity is really what makes it so easy to use everyday and to be able to add notes or additional items to lists on the fly. The interface is attractive and the option to change the color of each note help keep things organized and nice to look at.

Cons

Being such a simple app, it does not have many advanced features that some of the more advanced comparable apps have. While simplicity is one of its greatest strengths, it would be nice to have options for things such as creating sub tasks within lists to eliminate the need to use another app for purposes requiring those features.

Google Keep Knows How To Keep You

Pros

I use Google Keep almost every single day. This is perfect for brainstorming and idea taking. I have done this several times. For note taking, it is very important to have. I create checklists complete with pictures which I can attach. I share my lists. That's something that you can't just do with the paper in your hand. There is also an ability to add it onto Google Chrome Extensions which is fantastic!
It beats the competitor on the most important foundation for me: simplicity.

Cons

There is no hyperlinking ability so far. I cannot input a video and send . I can only use an image. Today, with Google knowing the power of video, I am amazed this is not yet on there. They will get it. They are a great company!

Google Keep - Keeps My Life Together

Google Keep is simple and integrated across the rest of Google Apps making it a welcome addition to my daily needs. It's clean and has a great UI experience.

Pros

Same easy to use interface whether I'm on my computer or mobile device. Search is powerful and accurate. UI looks great too! Easy to edit and organize my lists, share, and set reminders of important items. Completed notes or list items are archived for easy access and search. Drag and drop to change the order and different types of notes make it a one-stop shop for all my needs. It's Free!

Cons

Tagging is nice but it'd better if there was a pin option. OCR not totally intuitive and there's no ability to record audio. There is no text formatting option

Like Post-It notes, but better.

Google Keep is my go to choice for personal use. I employ Evernote for business purposes and in all honesty, they are both very useful. If you are a visual person, Google Keep might be more along your liking. More of a glorified Post-It note keeper, Google Keep makes it easy to find notes due to color coding and other features.

Pros

Google Keep is simple. Keeps notes synced between your desktop and mobile device. It's UI resembles a board filled with Post-It notes where you can customize each note. Modify text, card color, size, and even set reminders to your notes. Use tags for easy tracking. Google Keep lets you access the information anywhere you go. You can configure Google Keep to share your notes and other simple features.

Cons

Not highly sophisticated and limited setting variables for Google Keep. But they do not necessarily seem like a con, as it keeps its features simple.

Google Keep - great for quick notes and reminders

Overall really good, I use it pretty much every day for quick notes to myself. It's not as robust as something like Evernote but there's value to the simplicity too I think

Pros

It's easy to use to jot down notes that you won't keep or even for those daily reminders which can include lists, pictures, files

Cons

This isn't as robust as Evernote or a word processor where you can add lists, images, and plain text to a note. Once you choose to create a list, the whole note will be a list (not as flexible). I like that I can do reminders, however I can only set 1 reminder for a note. I have things that I want to remind myself before and after work and I don't want to create 2 separate/duplicate messages to accomplish that

Google Apps - Keep

There are many alternative apps that currently available on the marketplace. But for me, Keep suits my requirements and it also helps my productivity as a System Administrator.

Pros

In Keep, you can make notes, checklist,handwritten text and one of the best feature is you can upload/insert images. One of the best feature is you can access your google keep anywhere like in tablet, laptop, desktop, mobile and etc. Keep has the locations and time-based reminders and it is synchronized with your Google Calendar too. Search bar for Keep is also powerful, you just need to search for one word, an color code will highlight and you can find your note quickly.

Cons

You cannot share your notes directly to other social media (Twitter and Facebook) and it never notifies me when some new notes were added to the shared keep note list.

A helpful tool application made even better!

I would definitely recommend this application to all. Specially for all smart phone users. It's an application that could help you with your daily activity task. Amazing!

Pros

I tried using this application and since then I fell in love with it. I love on how easy it is to use and to easily search the file or information that I saved it from my device. A really wonder work of application.

Cons

maybe one thing I've noticed. It's not password protected, so anyone who'll access my device will be able to see what's in there. All in all, performance wise and functionality, It works pretty amazing. I Love it!

Has Boosted My Productivity

Overall its a great product. Definitely a value add to my productivity.

Pros

- Love the mobile/desktop integration.
- Keeps my tasks synced across all my devices
- Love the mobile application widget for the home screen. Can directly view/add/remove tasks without entering the application
- The sub points options is very useful. Helps to keep the task list short.

Cons

- I mostly love everything about the application. Maybe they can work on the User interface and add more colours.
- The size of other mobile application with TODO features is usually not as big as google keep.

Great for On-The-Go

I like being able to color-code.

Pros

Google excels at creating easy, user-friendly, convenient software, and this is no exception. I love being able to access it from either my phone or computer. It's an excellent way to create lists, take notes, keep important numbers or names, or ensure your ideas don't get lost in the shuffle of daily life.

Cons

The functionality isn't huge. There are definitely better collaboration options if you're looking to share with other people or add files and documents. While you can add photos, it works better for basic text.

Great for small and personal project lists

There are a variety of task/list managers better suited for mid-sized to large companies. Keep is great for tiny and small businesses who can't financially commit to larger task/list managers. It's also great for individuals who want to keep track of a variety of things - recommended reads, grocery list, daily to-dos.

Pros

It's free when you sign up with Google
No need to continuously log in after the initial set up
Mobile and Web platforms work great
Lists are customizable and shareable

Cons

There is no option, on web or mobile, to sort lists. It would be nice to be able to sort alphabetically.

Great to have for everyday to-do lists

Love the product and look forward to new updates

Pros

-Available across all devices (desktop, phone, tablet)
-Easy to user interface
-Can copy and paste lists from different applications and it will interpret a separate line as a different to-do item which you can check off
-You can share your list with others and if they have a google account, the list will be shared in the same app and changes made are reflected in real time
-Drag and drop items to sort lists
-Love the checkboxes
-Can take screenshots and share them with the application
-Ability to pin important lists, which will bring them to the top of the app
-You can draw a note for things you need to do on the spot

Cons

-Would be good if there was a feature for reminders - having a reminder for each to-do item would be pretty useful
-Having a better ability to sort notes would be good like filters/projects

Easy To Do List Organizer

Pros

I love that it is so simple, and very similar to a sticky note. Though you are able to do more complicated things like set reminders, it doesn’t get too cluttered. Also, I have a Samsung phone and iPad and it works really well to have them synced together with this app so I always have my to do list with me! Also, I love that you can attach pictures to the notes as well.

Cons

At one point something got mixed up with my google calendar and my keep reminders wouldn’t go away, it must have been some weird glitch
