About Spring Boot

Spring Boot is a simple, declarative framework for building Spring-based applications. It makes it easy to get started with Spring, but it also provides production-ready features such as metrics, health checks, and externalized configuration so that you can build robust applications that are configured the way you want them. Spring Boot allows you to create stand-alone Spring applications without any code generation or XML configuration. It automatically configures Spring and 3rd party libraries whenever possible while still giving you control over how your application is configured and wired together.

Easy and Fast

I have developed many web based applications. The build tool I use with Spring Boot is usually the MAVEN repository. The last job I did was a registration form for company employees.

PROS

Thanks to Spring Boot, I was able to develop many microservices quickly. I even minimized my time wasted by writing less database code. I can easily determine the settings I will use in the application. Accordingly, I can develop software faster by making the application settings default according to the application type. Also, one of the features I love is not sticking to one IDE. For example, I can create Spring Boot projects in many IDEs such as NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse and Visual Studio Code.

CONS

Frankly, there is no feature that I do not like or that I would like to be developed for now. I can say that I like software development more with Spring Boot.

Best REST APIs Development Java Framework

Overall I am very happy to use Spring Boot, That is why I have used it in many of my projects. It fulfilled all of the project requirements. Deployment is also quite easy.

PROS

Spring Boot is a complete solution to build a back-end system for Web Applications and Mobile Apps. I mostly like Its annotations-based configuration.Authorization and Authentication enablement is very easy. Interceptors and Dependency Injection are game changers in the market.

CONS

I don't think there is anything to dislike about Spring Boot. They are continuously upgrading the framework as per new requirements.

Reasons for switching to Spring Boot

In J2EE we have to provide a lot of configuration thru XML files which is a time taking process. If project is large then those xls file become quite heavy and messy. But in Spring Boot we can do our configuration based on annotations. Which makes developers life easy.

PROS

This framework has a large documentation and is suppported by a great community. This make him atractive to learn. We can create scalable systems, because have plugins to integrate with app that have automatics deploy, compatible with containers and easy way to create REST endpoints even MVC sites.

CONS

Although Nice to develop microservices, not recommended to monolithic application. Moreover, it use a lot of memory that bring cost of processing in comparissing with other frameworks. For example, Go based

Java developer on Spring boot. A look back after several years.

I have been using Spring Boot on a daily basis for many years. I have created microservices with its help for many industries from financial to e-commerce to entertainment. I really appreciate the convenience of working with this tool.

PROS

Spring Boot is a framework that allows you to start development immediately. It has all the essentials to build any web application. It is widely supported and very popular in the industry. It configures almost everything for you, you can focus on the product.

CONS

His best feature sometimes is its downside. It happens that with more advanced applications you have to configure some of the modules yourself, which can be cumbersome and unreadable.

Reason for choosing Spring Boot

Popularity and versatility. Spring boot turned out to be much more affordable.
