We love StartProto!
Not only are we becoming more efficient but we are also seeing more congruency within our team. Being able to see the production number in real time not only helps us stay on top of what is happening but it allows us to update our customers more efficiently. StartProto has tremendous customer service and make sure that you are set up for success before, during, and after initial implementation.
PROSWe like that StartProto is a system made for the shop floor. We can manage current and upcoming jobs with ease as well as relay important information to our guys. The ability to save work, notes, pictures, and files to help make the job easier the next time is a game changer.
CONSThere are a few pieces missing from the administration side such as invoice tracking and check writing, however, the company is constantly updating their product and listening to feedback.
Reasons for switching to StartProto
Not only is StartProto more user friendly, it also puts the focus on the shop floor and actual manufacturing. The product is meant to help production run smoothly and is built for the operator. We are no longer limited by paper steps and verbal instructions - everything is saved digitally and accessed at anytime.

Fantastic shop floor resource from Day 1, accelerating the company's ROI on StartProto
Our experience with StartProto has been a great one from the beginning. We had mass adoption in weeks, with all employees using the software on a daily basis. Management now has access to critical information such as raw material counts, work in process counts, and inventory. Previously we would have to go to the floor and get current counts on whatever item was just ordered. This was all redundant and not inefficient. Now the orders come in and are entered, and we can quickly see exactly where we are with those parts. Do we need to order more material? Is it in stock, or in process? If so, where in process and how many are at each operation? Having this information at your fingertips (keyboard or ipad) is priceless and very productive.
PROSWe initially planned on piloting two users and four similar parts for the first few months once we implemented StartProto. That did not last long - by Week 2 we had all 15 of our users utilizing StartProto, and each day we would incorporate many more parts than anticipated into StartProto. This ease of adoption was huge in making StartProto a critical component for our company on our shop floor from an early stage, providing an even quicker ROI.
CONSThe underlying infrastructure is robust and powerful. However sometimes the user interface for operators can show too much information and overload them some. We have worked with StartProto in addressing these issues.
