Good for metrics

I enjoy the UI with the product

PROS

simple to use and easy to teach to others, accurate data

CONS

Doesn't fully sync with Forecast and needs manual sync sometimes with Harvest

Vendor Response

Rodney, thanks a lot for your review! We are working to improve our integration with Harvest to eliminate the need for any manual resync (which you'll need if you want for the data to update more often than daily). With regards to Forecast sync - we are very limited by what Forecast offers - there's no API to sync the data from Forecast and no way to import anything into Forecast at all. We've reached out to them a number of times asking for those features to be added (and so did half of their client, as I am hearing) - but we weren't given any concrete plans. To that end - we've built a no-configuration import of Forecast's Project Schedule CSV report which allows us to easily bring the resource schedule into Price&Cost in a form of bulk import. Once again, thanks for your comments!

Overall a solid project costing solution

Overall a good solution that has given us

PROS

Integration with Harvest time tracking. The ability to see real-time profitability for projects, clients, and custom tags to group projects in other ways. Sold/Planned versus actual profitablity

CONS

Milestone contracts are not well supported, such as billing for milestones that are not equal payments or payment on completion of a deliverable. A much smaller issue is that you can't change rates mid-project.

Reason for choosing Price&Cost

Cost, functionality, and the other products seemed like overkill for our needs (way too many features that weren't useful for us).

Instant return on investment

For the price, it is a great addition if you are using Harvest for time tracking. Even without Harvest, I would keep this around to better report on project margin.

PROS

It makes projecting project margin so simple. I used to create large cumbersome spreadsheets to do the same task and it was so inefficient.

CONS

There are some UX issues that are a bit annoying but you can overcome them.

Vendor Response

John, Appreciate the review! Thanks for the feedback. We are working tirelessly to iron out any imperfections.
