Fast and reliable reverse proxy/load balancer
We use Traefik in both Dev and Production environments, allowing us to prevent unattended bugs between the different environments.
PROSTotal integration with Kubernetes and automatic service discovery, HTTP2 automatically enabled, built in integration with Let's Encrypt with automatic renew. Clean and detailed dashboard with monitor tool. These are just some of the many features Traefik offers for free.
CONSDocumentation in the early versions was very poor. In the last version it is better but not very detailed and with few examples. Cache is available only in PRO version.
Reason for choosing Traefik
Nginx Plus offers many features, like caching, but we want to use free version and Traefik is very complete in the free version and really simple to integrate in our K8S stack.

Very happy as OSS version user
We used traefik for hosting multiple web sites on a single VPS with docker and docker compose and as ingress controller for kubernetes. We used Let's Encrypt option, and SSL termination feature. For Ingress Controller we found traefik better supported and more stable than more wide-spread nginx-based ingress controller.
PROSAs reverse proxies go this is the most flexible one that I've seen. It has so many knobs to turn, that you can make it work almost in any scenario you can imagine. More than 10 configuration providers allow for a wide plethora of usage scenarios, and Kubernetes Ingress Controller implementation makes managing your cluster ingresses a breeze.
CONSConfiguring Traefik requires some experience, but once you mastered it the possibilities are endless
Reason for choosing Traefik
It was free (OSS), in very active development with a good community support and it proved very stable.

Useful API and dashboard
The software is great, a little confusing at first but it is useful in configuration and debugging purposes.
PROSTraefik has an API and dashboard that can be useful for configuring and debugging purposes.
CONSIt can be confusing to understand why the middleware or service is not catching certain routes, and it would be helpful if there were more information included in the debugging output or if there were a comprehensive guide for troubleshooting issues with Traefik.

A powerful and easy-to-use reverse proxy and load balancer
Traefik is a powerful and easy-to-use reverse proxy and load balancer that is well-suited for use in a variety of applications and environments. While it does have some limitations, such as limited documentation and the lack of built-in SSL support, these are minor issues that can be easily overcome with a little bit of effort. If you are looking for a reliable and scalable solution for routing and balancing traffic to your applications, Traefik is definitely worth considering.
PROSTraefik is relatively easy to set up and configure, especially if you are already familiar with reverse proxies and load balancers. It has a simple and intuitive configuration file format. It is optimized for containerized environments, making it a good choice for use with Docker and Kubernetes.
CONSThe documentation can be somewhat limited in scope, especially for advanced features and configurations. While Traefik does support secure sockets layer (SSL) and transport layer security (TLS) protocols, it does not include any built-in tools for generating or managing SSL certificates.
