I forgot what life was like before this software. It has been a game changer!

Our experience has been great. The support team is unreal. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is a rockstar! She truly has made things so easy for us. She is so patient. She does her best to get our problems solved and her followup response on things is amazing. I can honestly say she is a huge part of why we have loved our software. The rest of the support team is great as well! Our patients love it. I think it helps set us apart from our competitors and has been a great addition to our practice.

PROS

The software is so user friendly. We started out using only the mixing software. I was amazed at how much it cut down my mixing time. It also has made training other employees on mixing so much easier. We added in the injections software and we love it! Our patients get in and out so quick. There is a level of comfort knowing that you are always giving the correct patient the correct injection. We have the kiosk and feel like we can't live without it now. It's AMAZING!

CONS

My biggest complaint is that when you are switching a patient from treatment to maintenance you have to do an entire new treatment plan. This is time consuming and makes me nervous that someone will input something incorrect or forget to add an item in. It would be helpful if you could just change the profile name and then it would change all of the dosing amounts. Another thing we struggle with is having to activate patient vials. This is forgotten often and can be a pain when giving injections. I understand the reason behind it with the way most allergists do mixing, but most of your ENT practices do not do it the same way. It would be nice if when you mixed a new vial it would automatically deactivate the old one and activate the new one.

Honestly, it was after a conversation I had with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] from edge pharmaceuticals. I quickly realized that us signing a contract for this software was so much more than just a software. In return we were getting a group of guys with an extensive knowledge of the business who could help us with our practice. They have guided in many areas other than just the software. They truly get what our industry is all about because they have worked in it for so long. The other reason is this: Every other software wanted us to change how we did things. Xtract was clear from the beginning that they wanted to help make us better, not change the way we practiced. They were going to design it to fit into our practice how we wanted it, not the other way around. And still today that has held true.

Xtract in Review

The number one reason behind our purchase of Xtract software is for patient safety! This is definitely our main priority, but we also got SO MUCH MORE with this system! We love the labeling system, the inventory system, the patient profiles (with patient photos for confirmation), skin testing features, pre-programmed prescribing profiles for ease of prescription writing, the ability to add on patient biologics and tracking, multiple user accessibility options, built in timers, etc. The BEST feature of the Xtract software system is absolutely the employees behind the scenes! Huge shout out to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who has been our design/implementation contact from the start, but who has also been my GO-TO for all things Xtract. Whether that be questions, trouble-shooting, re-designs, etc. She has by far made this a smooth transition for our clinic, as well as being a general joy to work with!

PROS

This software is amazing for many reasons, but my absolute favorite feature is the ease and functionality of the antigen inventory: loading, labeling, tracking expiration dates, etc. I am able to run a custom date range inventory which allows me to plan out my prescription remixes/antigen ordering well in advance to accommodate clinic. We also really love the ability to track skin test results within the system and to make prescriptions automatically based on those skin test results. The vial labels are detailed and excellent as well.

CONS

We were users very early on, so there were a few hiccups at the beginning of the design stage (allergy is a tricky beast). However, the design team and the customer service are fantastic! They have continually asked for our suggestions/input and made changes to the platform to accommodate our wants/needs/clinic flow. Each time I came across a certain aspect of the system that didn't quite work for our flow, they were more than happy to help with a workaround or to change the flow.

Seems to be built for clinics more than pharmacies

Responsive customer support and willingness to work with us to make changes.

CONS

There are not easy customization options to allow our pharmacy to meet regulatory requirements for documentation and record keeping. Many of the issues we raised or gaps we identified seemed to be as yet unknown to Xtract which also made customization both prior to implementation and following implementation a little more challenging.

The pharmacy was an early user of the Summit platform where the operational features were fully vetted, but their team presented some valuable opportunities to add regulatory reporting outputs directly from the system. Given Summit's ground up architecture around Part11 compliance the entire system is thoroughly logged and auditable, though initially Xtract provided reports upon request. Within the 5.01 release the audit reporting is at the user level for direct review and downloadable for any external regulatory requirements. Additionally in the pending release of 6.01 we are adding features we conceived internally to deepen access to structured logs for pharmacy centric environments. Xtract remains fully committed to expanding the platform to meet all aspects of the Allergy Immunotherapy process in whatever environment and appreciate the feedback from Children's Hospital Colorado to broaden the operational value of Summit.

Great Customer Support!

Overall, I am pleased with the program. I now trust the software to predict an accurate dose. It seems very user friendly once I became more familiar with it.

PROS

We have encountered several hiccups while implementing the Xtract System. Each time we reached out for customer support we have received very prompt responses as well as quick to fix any problems we had. We would not have been successful with this program if not for the amazing support we received.

CONS

It was a very rocky start up for us with the software. We found it difficult to train staff with the program initially as it did not seem user friendly. However, with repetitive use we have found the program to be very useful and accurate to our facility. Customer service was able to help us almost immediately as we encountered changes that need to be made.

Xtract System

It has been great. Less opportunity for error, builds confidence in the staff giving allergy shots.
