I am very pleased with the product and the customer service. We host a large annual convention and our needs are unique and complex in many ways. The Euclid team proved to be up to the challenge.
PROSThe membership module is robust enough to accommodate our complex membership types, convoluted business rules and exceptions. Flexibility to configure features that were not anticipated during initial implementation that became a must at a later stage, e.g. different rules for tax calculation for event registrations. The Mobile Team and Express Check-in had significant positive impact and added efficiency and positive user experience at the onsite check-in. Express/touchless check-in will be a must in the post pandemic event world.
CONSThere is some room for improvement in CV Echion
Reason for choosing ClearVantage
Could accommodate larger percentage of our requirements. The implementation cost accurately estimated the effort required for the data migration, customizations and implementation in general. The implementation process as a whole. Overall cost. Customer service. The culture and values of Euclid as an organization were close to the culture and values of our organization.
Reasons for switching to ClearVantage
The previous solution became obsolete and not able to meet the requirements of our complex event and membership.

CBA / CV Review
I have referred to Clear Vantage as the Swiss Army Knife of Association Management Systems because of the number of tools it has to work with. Not every tool is perfect for every task but it usually gets the job done and it can always be sharpened. I feel that we have achieved a good balance of process improvement and system management in CV.
PROSIntegration with our website, online member portal and event registration have been a major benefit. CV Online, Surveys and Email Blasts are great tools as well and allowed us to move away from Constant Contact.
CONSWe would really like to see an LRS module in CV Online and more development toward the online app for finance and reporting. Also, having limited access to business rules and custom logic restricts further development.

CBA went live with CV in 2008, I am not sure what factors were key at that time.

Stuck with legacy product, making the most of it
Frustrating.
PROSIt's nice that we can use CV as our CMS and our CRM. For our use case, it was important to use a CRM tool that was optimized for membership experience rather than commercial/sales use.
CONSVery steep learning curve -- it's not intuitive at all, and there is scant documentation for learning how it works. The documentation that there is is a GIANT outdated digital manual -- also not user friendly. There's no easily searchable knowledgebase or active user community. The system is buggy with an outdated interface. Overall it's poorly designed and causes me frequent issues.

I was not involved in purchasing, but this was chosen because it is a CRM tool designed for membership management.

Nice Updates
Our implementation was a little rough but we have stuck with Clear Vantage and they have had several updates like event management and cloud access that have been a big help.
PROSI found the update to the cloud the most helpful especially since we have been working from home. The ability to access our membership database from the cloud via any computer comes in handy.
CONSThe software could be more customizable. It seems like it is standard and sometimes it is hard to customize it to your individual circumstance.
