Zoho Catalyst^Honest Feedback

PROS

Very easy to use for novice developers and no charge in development environment makes this is a no brainer!!

CONS

This server less platform can become massive. I believe the only two basic capabilities not there are; Need more development language/framework support, Advancement on Database Side.

Quick Start Tool for Developer

To understand platform and how to use it is quit easy. Also there support team is hyper active.

PROS

Free Sandbox!! so you don’t need to pay for anything until you go live with a web app or mobile app.

CONS

We don't have option to export the Data for ZCQl but definitely it will be available in future

Huge set of Micro-services are available so you don't need to invest more time in this fast moving world.

Reasons for switching to Catalyst

Need a tool where I am not dependent of DevOps person. Also the tool with minimum price and maximum features.

Perfect extension of your existing Zoho tools

We use catalyst to build addons for Zoho CRM and Zoho Creator when the tools don't have the right functionality or flexibility

Ease of use. Integration with the other Zoho tools like Zoho CRM

Lack of real live examples and samples to start.

Serverless Features and cloud application deployment are amazing

The overall experience has been amazing where it has a very simple to use dashboard and help documentation ant tutorials are quite helpful

PROS

Zoho Catalyst has become a boon for us where we have developed APIs within a few hours and deployed to be used as a middleware as well as hosted VueJS applications for widgets , API Services, Web services, Pricing and process transactions with payment gateways

CONS

File storage limitations can be improved.

Reason for choosing Catalyst

We have chosen Zoho catalyst becos we have been building application which are integrated with multiple products of Zoho for our customers. When our customers need integrations between various SAAS products , sometimes there is a definitive requirements of middleware to handle performance, security, API metering and data storage . These have been made very simple for accessing in the catalyst platform

Catalyst is Awesome

PROS

I like catalyst to create CRUD function. I created a Zoho creator Proxy server using catalyst. Using catalyst node.js function, I created an auth token and saved in catalyst data store. And then RUN a CRON to update the auth token every 60 Mins. Also, the data from zoho creator is being saved and updated in catalyst and is also being served from catalyst. Created functions in catalyst using node.js to Create,Read,Update And Delete in Zoho creator. It is very nice and easy to use.

CONS

My recommendation is to create a public url to access the file from file store.At the moment, there is no option to get a public URL to show an image or video file. This is one much needed functionality.

Awesome platform to build software application

PROS

We can build a software application without worrying about backend servers. Features like user Authentication, API gateway, OCR, Face Analytics, Barcode Scanning,... are really impressive.

CONS

Whenever we face an issue, we got timely assistance from their support team. So there is no Cons.
