Go Idea review
It has simple, easy to navigate forms. Customer service responds quickly.
CONSThere are features that should be standard such as electronic signatures that are cost prohibitive to add especially for small districts.
Reasons for switching to GoIDEA
That was more difficult to navigatre, did not pull in WI forms automatically

GoIdea is the place to GO for a Special Education Database Company
GoIdea is always updating it's systems, forms, and procedures. It is easy to use. My favorite feature is having them send my data to the State Dept of Public Instruction. They tell me if there is a problem with how I entered my data with them and tell me how to fix it. I can then go into the State database system, review my data submissions and if there is an error, I screenshot it and send it to the support team. They fix it "behind the scenes" and then message me they have completed the fix. If there is something I need to do, they let me know exactly what to do. It makes Third Friday and October 1 counts so easy. Their Customer Service is Outstanding. One of the best I have ever worked with. I highly recommend GoIdea to anyone considering a new special education system.
CONSI do not like that the cover page of the family friendly version of an IEP does not tell the family what they are looking at. I wish there was a way the system could pull the data from the I-3 and then post it to the cover page of the Family Friendly version of IEPs with the date of the meeting.

GoSolutions GoIDEA
Responsiveness of GoIdea help desk is great and usually very knowledgeable. The special ed management side of the software is good and there are a lot of options for tracking data. The software is great at helping track timelines/deadlines and gives the option for notifying staff via daily email reminders. The digital signature feature for guardians is a great feature and time-saver.
CONSAs a district, we have technical issues with GoIdea around printing special education forms. It has been brought to the attention of GoSolutions staff multiple times. While help desk staff do try to help with the issue, we have repeatedly been told it's a Mac user issue with little to no follow-up beyond that even though we continue to experience problems. Customization (forms, reports) is always a little tricky and costs more. While it is nice to have options with the vast amount of data in GoIdea, the amount of reports is overwhelming. It would be nice to be able to export specific data instead of sifting through reports to find what is needed. The digital signature feature is great but it still needs work in terms of being able to send forms to more than one guardian and there also needs to be some sort of notification to admin staff when a digital signature is received. The Section 504 module of the software is lacking.

I struggled with GoIdea for the first part of the school year and was not wanting to complete the conversion from one to the other, but once I poured myself into learning and implementing the trainings I was given, it has been great. I found I had to trust the team behind program.
PROSWhen I have problems there are a couple of different ways I can contact the GoIdea team to get the situation taken care of quickly.
CONSI am extremely picky as to what my forms look like and I really struggled with the difference in the forms. There are errors in the forms that I constantly have to fix. Sometimes I have to have a finished form so that I know what I need to put in the blanks. Some things could have a drop down to make the form easier to fill out.
Reason for choosing GoIDEA
I struggled with the conversion from CSA to GoIdea but the alternative was the Idaho SDE version and I didn't want to go that route.
