would like to say a few words of affirmation for LigoLab Information Systems. Their approach to system design is the best I have ever encountered in 40+ years of implementing and managing systems. Their Lab system design is solid and flexible which is very difficult to achieve. Their Database design lends itself to fast and efficient processing. The user interface is easy to learn and use. This allows the system to "guide" the user through efficient processing with minimal errors. The system also provides the user with copious and accurate reporting. The same things can be said about their Revenue Cycle Management system. It is clean, efficient, and productive. I would also like to point out that when new challenges present themselves their customer service excels in both identifying the problem and resolving it or coming up with a new solution. Pathology Laboratory Review
Other than customer support, LigoLab LIS is a each to use, streamlined operating system that I would recommend to other pathology laboratories.
PROSFor my daily use, I enjoy that all the features I need access to are simplified and easy to access. The grossing queue is allows for my entire department to visualize the incoming cases that need to be completed. There is a streamlined effect that you can see with each individual case as the column to the left in anatomic pathology allows you to see the progression of each case block created as is progresses within each department further down.
CONSThe imaging software within the grossing touchscreen is weak and poor. If an image is needed to be provided, when using the recommended camera, the image that is displayed is of poor quality and is small in size. This particular feature has not been fixed since the beginning of use.

Funky system, but great customer support
It is okay. I would prefer to use other platforms
PROSI like that whenever I have an issue, that I can call someone in customer support and they are usually pretty good with keeping everything up to date.
CONSThat the server goes down, sometimes it is not as user friendly as you would think

My experience after 7 years
This is what I tell everyone. 29 days out of the month I absolutely love it. LOVE IT. On the 30th day when the bill comes, I get grumpy. Then it starts over the next month.
PROSFor anatomic pathology they have thought about almost everything. The functionality and customization with relatively little major work or overhauling is unparalleled in the industry. It seems like every time we ask, can we do this? They walk us through how we could adjust settings and make it happen. They get pathology and labs. You can really tell the folks who developed this product worked in a lab environment.
CONSI wish it was cloud based. I wish they would apply their genius to include a scheduling module for pathologists and also a more robust means of case assignment to said pathologists.

As a small business the up front cost was more manageable as a SAAS platform and they grew with us. Also, they answered every question I threw at them with thoughtful and honest answers and multiple demos. Also, as opposed to talking to someone who just did sales, many times in the due diligence I was talking with guys who helped write the program, the guys who knew it in and out.

Use of Ease
Over all, our experience with LigoLab has been very good. There is not a perfect Information System, however, the customization we have been able to put into place have been very helpful in creating leaner work performances.
PROSThe software has greatly impacted our company. We are now able to easily run Quality Measure reports, better understand our daily volume, and track our current case load.
CONSSome of the wording within the software is different from wording routinely used in the industry.
