Collaborative, semi-autonomous estimating tool, gets the right conversations happening quickly!

I started using Apropo when it was still in Beta release and even back then I found it intuitive to use. These days Apropo is well received by our clients who are far more responsive to interactive cloud based estimates than email attachments. It's definitely worth a demo / trial to see if it's fit for your business.

PROS

You can build an estimate in minutes using the available templates and the auto estimating tool. Being a cloud based app, we can share estimates with the internal team quickly, share the outcome with our clients, and perform updates in a collaborative way - rather than waiting on emails, setting up calls, and bleeding time into the estimating / sales process. Having the ability to edit or build up own custom templates for client / service specific proposals is a major advantage for us.

CONS

It took some time to become aware of certain features, how to use them, and understand the use case for them. It's a feature rich product with the explanations and user guides playing a little bit of catch up - but it's worth the effort to explore the product and learn on the fly.

Reason for choosing Apropo

Excel / Sheets is always going to have its place in the estimation process as the data can be used for more than just project estimation (e.g. margin calcs, budget tracking, status report etc.), however for internal review purposes and client facing collaboration (e.g. pre-sales, scope definition, and initial estimation), cloud based tools like Apropo are much more user friendly and cost effective.

My review of Apropo

PROS

That our devs can focus more on actually coding, and less on managing expectations and estimating. This resulted in a direct increase in conversions.

CONS

It wasn't as easy as I thought to get started. Needed a couple of tutorials to get me going. Perhaps onboarding of new users can be improved a little bit.
