The best software to prevent cyberattacks
I have had nothing but great experiences.
PROSI like how it pinpoints the entry points for viruses and cyberattacks. It's also very straightforward and keeps you more alert on cyberattacks. It's also super easy to use.
CONSHonestly, nothing. There is nothing I dislike about this software and I can't recommend it enough. I guess the price could be lower

Easy to use and takes the guesswork out of security hardening…
Loving it and due to their license model, it's great for smaller businesses with a number of clients.
PROSNot only does it provide a GUI interface to well known CLI tools, but presents the results in a very easy to read format and most importantly, solutions and documentation references to understand the individual vulnerabilities.
CONSThe web interface is a little confusing and I believe they could leverage the underlying tools to provide other features.

Good option if you don't want to set up your own OpenVAS system or find Nessus too expensive
Overall the product is able to find and report on found vulnerabilities

1 year onsite deployment
Overall it has been a great investment for identifying and remediating network threats.
PROSVulscan identified dozens of threats on the first day of the appliance installation.
CONSDeciphering the identified threats and remediating them is a challenge sometimes.

Massive overhead required to keep it functional
Very weighty - not just in resources required for the VM, but even more so for the time it takes to just get this tool to work. We chose to spend a bit (not much) more money for a tool that does much more and is so much easier to manage. It could easily take hours to fully deploy a client with VulScan and there's no guarantee in my experience that you won't have to do it all over again, maybe even multiple times to get it working like it should. Dropping VulScan will enable us to actually focus on the remediation work. Even at it's best, it's sub-par.
PROSWhen it is working properly, then it is still below average compared to other similar tools. It beats the competition on price, but nothing else in my experience. VulScan would be fine for a single, price sensitive organization without a complex network.
CONS8GB of memory required for a VM that only runs scans a couple times a month. Constantly failing scans. Unintuitive and unimpressive reporting. Not a scalable solution. The amount of overhead required to deploy and maintain the tool.
Reason for choosing VulScan
VulScan was chosen by our company years ago because of price and because it is provided through Kaseya, which we use for other products. We are now choosing a different product because VulScan has been so overhead intensive that it reduces the amount of actual production work we can do.

It's an adequate product if you use Compliance Manager GRC
Overall this product has worked well for us because of the integrations, we still use nessus on a case by case basis and nessus does perform much better.
PROSIt ties in directly to the compliance manager grc product. VulScan also makes tickets for vulnerabilities and does regular cadenced scans with automatic updates.
CONSclunky when using, no sanitized inputs can result in failed scans with no errors to diagnose the issue.
Reason for choosing VulScan

Good Basic Tool
So far good. Not usre we are using it to its full potential
PROSEasy to deploy and use. Appears to be a good basic tool. Using the trial Version - not sure we are getting the full capacity of the program.
CONSDoes not seem to cover all the cyber-nooks and crannies - good over all tool
Reason for choosing VulScan
Using Trial Version - will make a decision in the near future
