Great SEO Content Writing Tool w/ Beautiful UX
I like how simple it is to write SEO-friendly content. I love the writing optimization tool that ranks your content in real-time. It's simple, straightforward. It's also nice that the group on Facebook is so open to feedback, offering training, and answering questions! Makes you feel like you're not lost in some confusing, expensive software, but rather part of a community. They allow you to connect your Google Search Console for the Content Planner tool, which is a cool feature.
CONSIt was a little challenging to figure out how to really analyze keyword trends after coming from SEMrush. I hope they will update their analytics to include more visual data/graphs, as the results are (for now) simple and linear. Simple is good for beginners but I'd love to see them expand this.
Reasons for switching to Surfer
Cost and practicality for my needs (I don't need all the advanced tools in SEMrush for my role).

Expensive but most good things are
I write better articles faster. When I have outside writers create content I make sure it's Surfer optimized as that saves me a LOT of time in dealing with their content. This tool is really necessary for my business.
PROSNormal methods for adding keywords to blog posts leave them unreadable and really stick out. Surfer helos me to write better blog posts, articles and reviews by telling me what people want to hear about. Rather than keyword stuffing, I know which topics I need to include. The help with creating an optimized outline makes the rest of the process a dream.
CONSThere are never enough Content Editor credits for the articles I want to work on. I tend to max out my credits each month but the next tier is too much higher. Wish there was an option more in the middle. Overall this means I love the software and want more of it!
Reason for choosing Surfer
I recently purchased WriterZen to use as a supplement to Surfer but it's not even in the same league. I refunded within a few hours. Surfer is far superior at this point.
