Air Gap Your Backups Through The Cloud
The tight integration with AWS using its native tools makes for a quick and easy setup. With the ability to backups not only EC2 instances, but RDS, MSSQL native, and DynamoDB, it means we can use a single backups solutions for our needs.
CONSThe MSSQL native backup functionality appears to be in a bit of infancy. There were quite a few hiccups to deal with at first, but it has gotten far better since we started about 6 months ago.
Reason for choosing Clumio
The "air-gapped" native solution from Clumio.
Reasons for switching to Clumio
Veeam was an on-premise solution for us, and we were now cloud-native. Also, the cloud-based version of Veeam only works in your owned accounts, so it isn't a simple "air-gapped" solution like Clumio.

New to Clumio, seems to work as advertised
The vCenter setup is very easy. Deploy an OVA, connect it to the internet and vCenter, and you're done. Everything else can be done from the web portal.
CONSI don't like backup software that uses VM-level snapshots. Too many issues with stunning VMs or having to configure credentials for in-guest access. Storage snapshots or native VMware replication technology is much less impactful. Also the software immediately takes a backup when a new VM is added to inventory, which is very disruptive and annoying when doing a large migration product. There's no option to tell the policy to just wait until the scheduled backup window starts.

Clumio is what it says on the tin - Unmatched simplicity
Onboarding is quick, the pricing is aggressive, usability is high, and the product works as expected.
PROSIt's really straightforward to use. It's not that you could not replicate what it can do elsewhere, but it's that it makes it easy to do things right and see reporting thereof. They don't paywall SSO. Costs are driven by storage consumed at rates that are competitive with first party solutions, while providing a better admin experience.
CONSThere are some backup types that do not yet support region selection. Additionally, it does not automatically detect which EBS volumes are backed up as part of EC2 backups, so if you are not careful you could double-backup.
Reason for choosing Clumio
Clumio was simple and did not require us to provide any additional infrastructure or changes to our environment.
Reasons for switching to Clumio
Not having to enable versioning and the ease of reporting for compliance reasons.

Clumio for Libraries
I am satisfied with the value.
PROSThe peace of mind knowing I have backups for the cloud.
CONSI would like better tools for exporting data for eDsicovery and FOIA requests.
Reason for choosing Clumio
The interface and usability was much better, imo.
