PROS

When it was Sheakley we were very happy.

CONS

They are not forthcoming about our outstanding ERTC payments. They tried to hold them as a credit instead of paying a lump sum to us for the one payment we have received. Did not pay us the full amount of interest due saying it was a fee. This is contrary to law.

Vendor Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your experience with Sheakley/Vensure. We understand the frustration that has arisen in connection with the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC), and we empathize with the challenges our clients have faced. The significant backlog at the IRS has indeed contributed to delays in ERTC amendment processing, payouts, and the determination of interest amounts. Choosing a PEO provides clients with a strategic advantage, as the PEO assumes tax liability responsibilities, handles payments, and manages tax returns. This allows our clients to concentrate on growing their businesses. At Sheakley/Vensure, we continuously work to streamline the processing of ERTC amendments. Your feedback serves as a valuable source for our ongoing improvement efforts. We genuinely appreciate your transparency and we are committed to standing by you to address any further concerns and assist you effectively. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Beyond Frustrating

PROS

Absolutely nothing for me. I do not want and did not have PEO payroll system before my old company merged. I was told they would grant me access to do what I need to do without their unnecessary hand holding. It just hasn't happened. My contacts constantly change and you have no one focal point for customer service.

CONS

I have a great deal of experience with software and Human Resources. Our old payroll company merged with Vensure and it has been awful ever since. If you want to have all control taken from you, not be heard, have absolutely no one reach out to you to explain anything, have the same mistakes made over and over without your direction, then this is the company for you. A true exercise in frustration. You cannot set up a simple direct deposit without emails and forms and permissions. I did not ask for this and certainly do not want it.

POOR handling of accts, lack of communication & overall inconsistencies makes them a NO FOR ME!

PROS

I was able to get benefits, which is the only reason I stayed with them as long as I did. Even with that, I left because dealing with the subpar service was NOT worth it.

CONS

Unreliable payroll: They are constantly fixing their own mistakes, re-running, and changing your invoices... and the constant turnover of new account managers makes it extremely difficult to fully grasp your payroll. I am a small business, I couldn't even begin to fathom how confusing it would be with dozens of employees.. like I said, it was a NO for me. 1 star, and if I could give lower, I would.

Reasons for switching to VensureHR

I was under a benefit umbrella with an associate company I was very unhappy about the switch, and everyone who switched ended up switching away from them, too. Collective unhappiness.

Terrible customer service

Again - I would not recommend this service to anyone. They cannot do the very thing you are paying them to do which is properly process payroll, manage benefits and pay payroll taxes.

PROS

Nothing. The system is clunky and not intuitive. There is limited documentation that is of any use. The employee portal is marginally better than the admin portal.

CONS

Our original payroll service provider was acquired by Vensure and when we migrated to the Vfficient platform the service was terrible. Very cumbersome, no written documentation for onboarding/training, they did not pay our payroll taxes for two quarters, and paid terminated employees after their end date causing us to chase the money to get back. Even when escalating issues to top C suite folks, limited response, failure to follow up and resolve issues in a timely mannger.

Reason for choosing VensureHR

We didn't - our prior provider Zuman was acquired by them.

Reasons for switching to VensureHR

We have since switched to another provider (Rippling)

Complicated

Not enough training. We had good experience with our previous payroll company until they merged with Vensure. Since then everything changed. For a small company of 70 employees, we are looking for functionality with full control. Vensure is PEO and has lots of requirements to do simple tasks themselves such as adding/changing direct deposit info or benefits. To add to an issue, the system is not quite user friendly and after a month of use, we are still not fully onboard. I am looking for other options for our company which will allow for administrative control over payroll and HR tasks.

PROS

Has more features than what we had before

CONS

Sophisticated software. Your rely on customer service a lot to do simple tasks.
