Great for Monitoring your Storage
Comes with prebuilt alerts so you do not have to build your own. Able to monitor multiple different vendor products. Able to plan storage expansion better.
CONSThe only con about this software is that some vendors are starting to offer features like this with the yearly maintenance contracts of their storage units.

SRM is useful only as an add-on when you have other SolarWinds monitoring tools
We use it mostly to give our customers inventory information and some basic usage trends for capacity planing.
PROSThe product provides some valuable information for storage devices, which is useful when integrated with other sources, like SolarWinds NPM and SAM. You can get it running in a very short time, depending on which brand of storage arrays you use and whether they have the required licensing. Multi-vendor integration makes it useful for heterogeneous environments.
CONSIt falls short when providing anything else than low level technical information. You can't really do capacity management in a proper way. After using it for a few months, depending on the maturity of your requirements, you might realize it would've been better to pay twice as much for another product. If all your storage is from the same vendor, you might want to try the vendor specific monitoring products.
