MRPeasy handles our customer orders, manufacturing orders, BOMs, stock lots, and purchasing in one place, and it has held up well as we've tightened traceability and planning. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 4/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 4/5 #### Pros Stock lot traceability is the big one for our defense and shipbuilding work, since heat numbers, certs, and serial numbers stay tied to lots and manufacturing orders. Custom fields let us track shop-specific things like which gages each part needs. CSV import and export are good enough that we sync inventory from our tool vending system every night and feed spreadsheets and a dashboard. The price is reasonable for what you get. Support answers tickets quickly and passes feature requests along to their developers. #### Cons The biggest gap for a machine shop is tooling and fixture tracking. You can't put reusable, non-consumed items like fixtures and gages on a BOM with a serial number for traceability, so we track those with custom fields and workarounds. There's also no length tracking for bar stock, which is most of our raw material. Other items on my wish list: custom fields that carry from the customer order down to the MO, shipment, and invoice the way Reference does; multi-select dropdown custom fields; more than one PDF layout per document (raw material POs vs. tooling POs); pick lists that show lot and location for kit components; and quantities on the same line as the description on package labels. Only one active session per user, so switching between phone and desktop means signing in again every time. #### Vendor response Thanks, Hal! It's simply easy to use if you are familiar with resource planning (and no app will help you if you're not well versed in resource planning). Works the same on iPhone, iPad and laptop. Support is responsive and actually helpful. The AI support chat works very well. Documentation is expansive. But it's the attention to detail in terms of data, functionality, and workflow that made me fall in love with it. As with any resource planning software - the key to success is understating, planning, and implementing the data architecture that is right for your business. From templates, video instruction, documentation to friendly and helpful onboarding assistance from real people, MRPeasy helps you get things right the first time. The fact that it integrates with QBO and other accounting packages is a huge plus. That you can track backwards from specific finished product lots to specific ingredient lots really helps out consumer packaged food manufactures who heed this ability as part of their HAACP plan. #### Cons Not much to dislike. There are a few interface quirks that can be annoying: Can't re-schedule an MO from the MO itself - need to move them around in the calendar view; CRM module is awkward, and not really of much use unless you plan to use it as your primary CRM. Real CRM integration with QBO (more than importing customers) would be a great help for HAACP to track lots sent to customers. #### Vendor response Thanks! It does exactly what we need for managing manufacturing orders and tracking raw materials. For a small to mid-sized manufacturer, the underlying engine provides the necessary discipline without the overhead of a massive ERP system. #### Cons Pricing: While the admin cost is fair, paying $50+ USD per worker just to have them "punch in/out" on the floor feels steep, especially since we don't use 70% of the features (like CRM or POs). UI/UX: The interface is outdated. We use iPads on the factory floor, and the layout isn't touch-friendly—the "Stop" and "Go" buttons should be much larger. Regional Logic: As a Canadian company, we’d prefer CAD pricing. Additionally, we’d love a smoother "currency toggle" in the UI. Robust enough to work for most manufacturers. I'm even able to find in system work arounds for a few use cases that aren't planned for in the software. #### Cons No good way to back date entries. As a small business you don't always have time to record everything into the software. This effects summary reporting. If we ship out an order on the 29th, but it doesn't get record until the 2nd. You can't make it appear in certain reports for the correct month. Multiple steps to workflows can be cumbersome. The software seems designed for a team of people. A sales person putting in a SO, another putting in request for shipment and someone in the warehouse pulling and releasing the order. We are a smaller company that primarily uses MRPeasy for cost tracking across complex manufactured products. The multiple steps can feel cumbersome at times. #### Vendor response Thank you, Birk! After getting everything set up and spending some time becoming familiar with the system, it has become a seamless part of our operations. We manage a large inventory, and MRPeasy has been a great tool for tracking inventory, generating purchase orders and invoices for both suppliers and customers, and managing the entire manufacturing process from raw materials to finished kits. We also use QuickBooks for our bookkeeping, and all invoice information transfers automatically from MRPeasy into QuickBooks. In addition, as we were setting up, customer support was readily available to answer questions. #### Cons For cons, this is less about MRPeasy and more about QuickBooks. When we receive payment and close out an invoice in MRPeasy, it automatically transfers to QuickBooks, which works well. However, if the payment is deposited in our bank first and we close out the invoice in MRPeasy a day later, QuickBooks has often already generated an invoice to match the deposit. This can result in duplicate invoices in QuickBooks and requires some cleanup. It is a bit frustrating, but to be clear, this is not an issue with MRPeasy. #### Vendor response Thank you, Jay!
