Over promised and underdelivered, don't believe anything the sales person tells you

If we were not so far along we would dump this program and switch to something else!

PROS

If it worked I would have liked the gateway linking to suppliers but it can't be trusted as the info is often wrong and often creates duplicate and triplicate clients with the same name

CONS

The customer support is non existent unless you are a computer geek. They promised us we could use it for email marketing but failed to say it was 20 emails at a time. They told us it was very simple to bring over date form our previous CRM because they do it all the time. It was ANYTHING but simple.

Reason for choosing equisoft/connect

Because we through the sales person was being honest when they discussed all the things this product would do for us. The reality is very little of it is possible.

Reasons for switching to equisoft/connect

ACT no longer worked for us and were looking for a program that would allow is to do email marketing campaigns

Not Intuitive, rigid, not easy to use

My overall experience with Equisoft has been very poor and I would not recommend this to financial advisors . It is very pricey $99/month (after tax) compared to other easier-to-use CRMs (like Zoho). My biggest frustration was that Equisoft had heavily marketed the fact they can "save" advisors time by automating data entry so advisors can focus on activities that are actually important i.e. selling face-to-face. In my experience, I had to spend MORE time fixing the issues caused by this feature.

PROS

The ONLY thing I liked about this software was how seamlessly it integrated with my outlook email. And the fact that emails, tasks, and meetings were integrated with the CRM.

CONS

As a Canadian financial advisor, I've used this CRM for more than half a year and it has been a tortuous and unsatisfying experience. To name a few: - there is absolutely NO customization to the CRM to fit your business. In other words you have to use the layout that's provided for you. - Although the relevant info (insurance policies, contact information) can be summarized on the contact's page, having to navigate the client profile for more details (activities, emails, details for insurance policies, details for contact information etc.) is very time consuming. You have to click many buttons and tabs to get basic information. Other CRMs (like Salesforce and Zoho CRM make this extremely easy for you to navigate their contact pages) - Reports are ridiculously hard to create and edit. And there's no support or documentation to make this easy. - The mobile app is very primitive and you do not get any in-app notifications for upcoming tasks or events - The insurance gateways do NOT sync information accurately to your CRM!!! Which means that your clients will frequently have WRONG information updated on a frequent basis. This was a HUGE deal-breaker for me as I originally committed to Equisoft thinking that I would have little to no data entry (I wouldn't have to manually update my clients' insurance policy information: coverage, premium amounts, monthly modal amounts, insurance type, riders etc.).

I was ultimately mislead by Equisoft and I am promptly switching back to Zoho
