Excellent for ESG Newbies

Easy - to collaborate, to understand, and to complete the assessment

PROS

Novata's platform was easy to use, easy to collaborate with others, but most importantly, for someone new to these assessments, each question/metric came with an explanation, and the built-in live chat was FAST and INFORMATIVE. I couldn't believe how zero-hassle it was to get help when I needed, it in a way which wouldn't slow/stall my progress when I got stuck on a question

CONS

Wasn't really important to me but they did not have an import function to bring in assessment responses from another assessment platform if needed

easy to use platform for data collection; excellent onboarding and mission driven team

Very helpful data collection tool that allows for increased efficiencies for GPs but also provides value to portfolio companies through its useful guidance material and hands on support. Overall, we are very satisfied with the product and service delivered and definitely recommend to other GPs.

PROS

- Easy to navigate and intuitive platform- automated data collection that integrates with existing systems and processes- ability to apply standard metrics as well as customized metrics- guidance material around specific KPIs- very helpful and responsive customer support team- thorough onboarding process for both GP and portcos

CONS

This is still a young platform and thus naturally some features still need to be developed further.

Novata ESG user review

PROS

Nova was a easy to use platform, with helpful metric definitions and benchmark comparison. It also enables the user to navigate between the questions, and automatically save all the inputs.

CONS

The chatbot available does not really supports on the questions, but instead directs to a point of contact.

New Software, Streamlined and Effective

Our Private Equity owners asked us to use this software and also set up the metrics they wanted us to report on. Since they have a large portfolio, some of the metrics are not applicable to us, but that's easy enough to mark as not reported for our entity. Getting support when we need it has been easy and the Novata team is very easy to work with. Overall, it's been a very positive experience and I'm happy with the product.

PROS

Novata is incredibly simple to navigate. There is guidance available to explain what each metric relates to. I like that we can have multiple people working on the ESG questionnaire at the same time collaboratively.

CONS

Novata is new and still creating functionality and feature requests. Some features are less intuitive than they could be--I'd love the system to auto-save as you click through the different metrics. Right now you must hit the save button before hitting next or it doesn't record your answers. Also, finding the guidance or help can sometimes be a little confusing, but we do always get there in the end.
