Easy way to receive orders from retailers

PROS

I receive orders from retailers via bluecherry system and it is easy to fill them based on a pull of the UPCs on each PO.

CONS

It is nearly impossible to decipher 860 change notices when sent via Mi9 and authorized and sent to the vendor via EDI. We nearly always request that they generate a new PO.

Streamline and Grow Your Operation with BlueCherry

PROS

BlueCherry's specific focus on our industry and long history of providing solutions in this space has been integral in helping us to streamline, optimize and grow our business on the platform. The development and implementation team has years of experience both with the product and in the industry, and as a result, they have been able to assist us in relieving bottlenecks and addressing challenges and a strategic and efficient manner. The product is flexible and integrates with most of the key software tools and providers we need to use to run our business.

CONS

The biggest challenge we experienced with BlueCherry was shifting to exception based rules to run our core business functionalities. Our previous software was quite limited, and as a result nearly all processes were hands on. With BlueCherry, we are able to create rule sets to automate a tremendous amount of our day to day processes, and only to catch and address exception cases. This required a big shift in our mindset , and some challenges in setting up optimal rules for our operations. Once in place, however, these functions became much more automatic.

Reasons for switching to BlueCherry

We needed to move to a platform with more robust tools and integrations to modernize our operation.

Needs Upgrades

PROS

I like that it simple to understand once you are trained in the software. The screens are clear and easy to read, such as the style master and production order entry functionalities, and there are a plethora of reports you can run with the report launcher.

CONS

I feel that the sales orders have too many unnecessary steps. It would be nice if 1 product could live in 1 line for a sales order. However, as the software now stands, when you have different size packs you end up having to enter each as a different line. Once you combine that with the prior step of setting up style master, putting a sales order together can be complicated and time consuming. There are a number of things that should be simplified to make it easier for sales teams to sell.

Full End to End Solution

Overall the experience once we had 2 years of use under our belt has been good. The first 24 months were difficult and frustrating. However, I have spoken to many fellow business owners on their experience with an ERP integration and none of them said it was smooth.

PROS

BlueCherry provides a full end-to-end solution that has the ability to grow as your company grows. You can avoid multiple 3rd party plug-ins that other ERP software providers utilize that never really function as planned.

CONS

A lot of the modules were not out of the box and we spent a significant amount of money getting the modules functioning at a basic level. The training on the different systems did not follow a logical time line and there was a lot of jumping around which meant key features were missed.

Reason for choosing BlueCherry

Being a garment-specific ERP we felt the features that it had were more in line with our needs.

Reasons for switching to BlueCherry

We needed more automation and a PLM integration

Apparel Company Must-Have

PROS

One of the best things about BlueCherry is its flexibility. I have worked for 3 very different apparel companies over the last 19 years, and each one has used BlueCherry in its own unique way. The product is flexible enough to use its multitude of functionalities to support existing business processes and also structured well enough to build business processes around. In addition, I love that BlueCherry is truly a total ERP. From an integrated PLM module down to AWS to run your warehouses........it is nice to not have to worry about integrating multiple systems for the basics, when so much focus in the industry today is on Retail and Ecommerce, which by their very nature require integrations to multiple external systems. For smaller IT depts., this is big plus, as they are supporting additional modules within BlueCherry and not custom-built integrations to external systems for things like PLM, EDI, AWS, etc. Lastly, the team at CGS is one of the best I have worked with. They are always thinking of how to make each release of the product better than the previous, and truly trying to provide value to their customers.

CONS

One of the cons with this software is the process for maintenance (applying fixes, upgrades, etc.), as CGS does the majority of that. I understand the rules they have put in place and why, but I would like to be able to do more for myself. I would even pay for the training, just so that I could have the flexibility to do these things when I needed to, instead of being put in a queue for the work to be scheduled with their team and then waiting for the work to be completed.
