Best Virtual Receptionist Around

Had a very positive experience with Ruby in terms of frontline phone calls. They have an excellent team and everyone has been super professional. Would very much recommend them as the first customer touchpoint for your business.

PROS

It is like having an actual receptionist in your office. They are fantastic and friendly. They have a list of questions you can have them ask callers and the customer service experience has been the best I have received. It is also amazing for screening solicitations.

CONS

The app has been updated, but can still lag a bit, which is very annoying if you are trying to make an outgoing phone call and need to shut down the app and restart it. Would be great if it integrated a bit more with Calendly so your upcoming phone calls show up. The cost can also be a bit high.

Reasons for switching to Ruby Receptionists

Not a fan of Grasshopper. I had been looking for a new product and while a bit pricy I read some reviews and articles and decided to make the switch.

We Love Ruby

Ruby provides us professional answering services around the clock when we are not in the office, or if we need to have someone else answer the phones for awhile when we are in the office. Their customer service is outstanding and we feel they treat our customers as their own. We can't say enough good things about their professionalism.

PROS

Easy to switch phones off and on. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING.

CONS

I really don't have any complaints about this software, it meets and/or exceeds or needs.

There are so many other options

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! After we decided to leave and started shopping around we found 10+ competitors at half the price with twice the allotted minutes. Majority of the demo calls from the competitors all had one thing in common to say about Ruby: Unbelievably over priced. We were charged 200 minutes for $650 per month. Most companies we researched came in around 350 minutes for $250-$400.

PROS

The agents answered calls friendly, with a smile

CONS

HIGHLIGHTS:Charged for full price during a promotional trial without resolution after emailing their staff 4 times. Had to dispute it through the bank directly.Bogus call handling dispositions. After one light audit, found numerous calls totaling over 30 minutes of agents claiming handling times between 4-7 minutes dispositioned as Wrong Number.Agents repeatedly gave out staff personal mobile phone numbers. We had a second onboarding call (within 60 days of trial) to fix it, again, and the agents continued to give out personal numbers. No accountability because there is no method to get a hold of someone directly, not even our sales agent who disappeared as soon as we signed and NEVER responded to our concerns, issues...etc.

Reason for choosing Ruby Receptionists

Because of the enormous amount of marketing, advertising and branding. Their operations are churn and burn.

Reasons for switching to Ruby Receptionists

Verizon was so expensive and technology was so limited.

Ruby is amazing, but not for the faint of heart!

We had this as a secondary answering service when our primary agents weren't able to catch a call, it got routed to Ruby.

PROS

Their receptionists are great and the service they offer is top quality. They met all expectations!

CONS

It's not a "con" but, the service can get very expensive the more it's used.

Reasons for switching to Ruby Receptionists

We had some issues with AnswerConnect which were later resolved.

Full suit answering service

We implemented Ruby in January of 2021 and over all it has been an improvement to our answer service situation. There are still quite a few kinks that we need to work out starting with trimming excess time that Ruby bills.

PROS

The call out request function is my favorite feature. The app that allows you to call out and text out from your firm number instead of your cell phone number is also amazing.

CONS

They do not have 24/7 bilingual receptionists. They charge 30 seconds of receptionist minutes for hang ups

Reasons for switching to Ruby Receptionists

We wanted a call out function as well as an all inclusive service that allowed us to call out and text from the app instead of our cell phones or a 3rd party app.

Dead Air Calls

This company has taken a sharp dive into the ground since I first started using their services. Everything was going fine until the I needed some technical support for my account. 15% of my incoming calls were 'Dead Air' and Ruby wouldn't or couldn't provide any assistance in solving the issue. These were actual clients trying to call in but getting Dead Air, and then emailing me asking why the phone service wasn't working. After multiple calls to Ruby, and then discovering I was being charged for every Dead Air call that came in, I terminated the service.I had used 147 minutes and just received a $660 invoice for the poor quality service.

PROS

They were polite on the phone, they had a website - nothing that unique about them

CONS

poor customer service and poor follow-up with their technical support

Ruby Receptionists - Awesome, But A Little Too Expensive

Overall, we really did have a great experience. The people were always very kind and easy to work with.

PROS

We loved the real people on the phone. We have switched from this program and do miss that for sure.

CONS

We really appreciated this service, but it was just too expensive. If the price went down we would possibly reconsider using it again.
