Nothing but positives with Maptician

Fantastic. Helped us with an office expansion and planning. And once Covid struck, allowed us to seamlessly transition to a reservation-based system in the office to meet distancing guidelines and contact tracing. The customer support has been fantastic and very responsive.

PROS

Our implementation of Maptician was very easy. The software is intuitive for the end users to find and reserve desks for hoteling. The design aspect is simple to match your floor layouts.

CONS

Shortcuts are designed to work with a Windows keyboard, not Mac, but this puts me in the minority. That is my only "complaint", and it's a minor one.

Reasons for switching to Maptician

Ease of use, functionality and features. We couldn't get map overviews for planning the buildout with our previous use of Outlook.

All-in on Maptician

We've been preparing the company for a return to working from the office (because of the pandemic), and we have numerous buildings and often times several suites within those buildings. Maptician has been able to handle them all WITH EASE, in both the production and staging environments (having access to both environments has come in very handy as well). Integration with our current business processes has gone smoothly, especially compared to integration efforts with other applications. We had a tight timeline to launch this application across the organization, and because of the application itself and the people behind it (those at Maptician), integration and implementation went very well. Speaking of the people at Maptician, you will be hard-pressed to find better customer service. They are very responsive, understanding, respectful, flexible, and intelligent. They're also very good at training and answering even the most difficult questions with positive, can-do responses. They're also open to ideas that make the application better and very quick to make enhancements. It's been a pleasure to collaborate with them.

PROS

Maptician is very user-friendly. There is a slight learning curve, but it's easy to use once you get it down (which takes hardly any time or training). For me, the most powerful features are those provided in the Assignments and Map Editor sections of the application - namely social distancing halos, flex seating schedules/shifts, and scenarios. It's worth mentioning that one of Maptician's best features is that maps are to-scale (they have to be in order for distancing halos to work properly). I also like the clean-cut look of the application (appeals to my aesthetics) to go along with its robust feature set.

CONS

Only two things come to mind that could be improved/enhanced: 1) with regard to reporting, it would be ideal if more of the drilldown dashboard reports had the option to be downloaded to Excel. 2) in Map Editor, when drawing lines, it would be great if those lines could snap into place at exact right angles (for example 45, 90, 180, 270, and 360 degrees). That said, Maptician has been johnny-on-the-spot with making improvements whenever we bring up possible enhancements.

Reason for choosing Maptician

The features offered by Maptician are much better to suit our needs, and the price was also much better. Also, the customer service had a leg up on the competition.

Useful Software for Post Pandemic World

PROS

I work as an admin for this software within our company and although I find myself going to the wrong section often; it is useful when I finally find the section I need and get the hang of it

CONS

The analytics and reports can be confusing.

Overall, I've felt that Maptician has been very User Friendly and easy to implement for our organization. I have had minimal issues with the software, and the Maptician team has been very supportive and timely in resolving anything that comes up.

PROS

I like that Maptician is very straightforward and user-friendly. I also like that our staff has access to a site map of the office, and can see staff photos of where others are physically sitting. Another great benefit of the software is having contact & user information searchable from the Directory/Occupants tab, so people in different offices throughout our organization (or people working remotely) can easily check what location other folks are working from. I also appreciate the "Bulletins" function to make company-wide announcements. From an administrative perspective, it's nice to be able to preset the site layout for our staff to limit confusion and streamline functionality (especially during the implementation phase).

CONS

One thing that's been a little tricky with the software is when Maps accidentally become locked and are unavailable for access by others. My office has several folks designated as administrators, and there was one day I was OOO and I had accidentally locked a map (I was editing and didn't formally close out), and so for the day I was out, the other admins couldn't go in to make edits. Otherwise, any small issues I've had have been quickly resolved with the help of the Maptician support team.

Very Personable - Great customer service!

Maptician is doing the job of getting our employees in and out of the office, however, I do look forward to additional features being launched.

PROS

The Maptician team wants you to succeed, which is one of the most valuable assets a vendor can provide. During the time of the pandemic, my team was personally running in the dark when it came to reopening and Maptician walked with us throughout the entire process (map build out, social distancing, etc.). Maptician was open to brainstorming and took in some of our recommendations for us to better utilize their platform. If we were to find any issues on the backend, Maptician was quick to troubleshoot and resolve said issues. Not to say that we've encountered many challenges what so ever, but I know if we were to Maptician would be on top of it.

CONS

I would love for Maptician to be integrated with G-suite to make things easier for the administrative side. Pulling reports can be confusing - I wish they had a more user friendly data pull option.
