Incredible tool to include in UX process
Excellent. Much more visual than other solutions. Easy to use
PROSThe best part of this software is the ability to do information architecture. This was a big hurdle I had with clients and previously was having to go from slick plan to keynote to do sitemapping then IA. Now everything is in one place. Love that you can select block styles and colours as makes it easier to categories types of content (i.e. product purchase, social proof, content/narrative) which allows for better IA strategy. Ability to add notes to content blocks is incredibly helpful
CONS-Not being able to collapse stems of mapping. This makes it more difficult to navigate when there are some more extensive stems, or to focus the clients' attention on one level at a time. -Not being able to move levels of nav once they've been built. You seem to be able to add additional navigations at the bottom, but then you can't move them up in the page after. This means if you build the wrong one out first, then you would have to entirely delete and rebuild. -Not being able to then turn the pages and IA into user journeys. That would be a game changer. -Not being able to identify 'page types'. Often for the sake of developers I need to build out a whole sitemap and then tell them through labelling, which page is assigned to which page type. Labelling or a key for page colours would help
Reasons for switching to Octopus.do
Working for a new agency, wanted to reconsider solutions. Slickplan doesn't do information architecture

Excellent addition to our toolset.
Octopus makes mapping a sites page structure and content hierarchy so much easier by combining multiple mapping methods into one tool. We're able to quickly and efficiently plan for the next stage of our design process allowing us more time to spend on the design of the UI and testing. Octopus has become an integral part of our design process. The way we use it has helped to improve how our different teams communicate and understand a project as we are planning our strategy.
PROSThe ease of use makes learning and using the tool very easy to pick up for new comers. Content blocks marked as symbols allow for editing multiple blocks at the same time. Shareable links with restricted access to allow clients to review the work.
CONSThe export options are limiting, when you have a particularly large map you are restricted to only being able to export it at an A4 or A3 size. Likewise with a PNG, the large the map the lesser the quality of the export. However , it is rare that we need to do this.

Good basic functionality but needs improvement
The colour coding, wireframing key, easy drag and drop
CONSIf you open the symbol library you can't move anything on the content model until you close the symbol library window down.

Simple and Effective Site Mapping Tool
I am in the process of creating my portfolio's website structure. Octopus.do is very useful for this purpose and saves me time and visualise my website vision in a simple and readable way.
PROSOctopus.do got a simple and user-friendly interface. I think it's got all the necessary tools as well. I can create site maps easily and intuitively manage structures. I appreciate that I can add notes and comments very fast in a short time. I also really appreciate the visual interface and graphics - it's modern, minimalistic and playful at the same time. I like the drag and drop feature most of all. Various export options are useful in order to prepare materials for printing or sharing.
CONSI spent some time figuring out how to use symbols (it was not so obviously). I would add an option of partial hiding of the page. The free version of the app is quite limiting .

An innovative visual map product to follow closely
Octopuss is a versatile and innovative product in a very competitive niche. Its potential is serious as the team behind is very committed and nice and opened new users.
PROSWith a smart branding, Octopuss comes with a clean, intuitive, and comprehensive dashboard. Wireframes interfaces and workflow are easy to develop fast with acuity. Custom wireframes a rich and well crafted for their purposes within blocks. Colors are simple to use and efficient with custom HEX features. Two feature stands out from the competition: Symbol: make a block a symbol. A must! To speed up your workflow from recurrent content. Estimate: this is a game-ching! You have to try it to believe it. You can budget by color-legend items with a price tag reflected in your site map. When sharing a site with your prospect or client, it's an innovative way to display everything on the track. A vertical view is an interesting option for specific diagrams that might be relevant. Project settings are excellent, as you can deactivate: estimate, the color legends... Or activate the mobile version! Exportation options are complete and work like a charm.
CONSAs there is no big negative experience, some features need to be improved. Zoom improvement by framing the map at 50%, 100%. Or selected areas thru zoom shortcuts.

The best sitemap planner
Super easy to use and can create complex sitemaps in a matter of minutes that can be handed off and shared with clients for reviews and amends.
CONSI can't see any issues with this product at the moment - and the company seem to be constantly updating and adding new features which I didnt even realise I wanted!

Does really well the job
Octopus is a great tool to help share a vision of the as-is and to-be of an application or website. It always designers, marketer, SEO and technical people to work hand to hand.
PROS- It's fast - It's easy to use - The learning curve is perfect - The customisation options make an good effect - The non vital features next to the vital ones are interesting
CONS- Some features are still hidden and should be more visible - I had small bugs but the team's working on it already - The free option is quickly limiting but is a good start.
Reason for choosing Octopus.do
I prefer the Octopus logo

Website mapping with Octopus
Overall Octopus gives me and my clients are really easy way to plan a site, and stop scope creep. ( You can set up "pricing per page" so that clients understand what it will cost them).
PROSBeing able easily map a site, add pages and move things around. Adding content in tiny boxes encourages content writers to keep the copy short.
CONSSadly you can't cut and paste from one site map to another, but it's not often that I have to replan 3 websites into one.
