API Integration Made Easy
For my job role, the experience with Canopy and Banyan Hills has been positive and insightful.
PROSI am on the deployment and end user support side of the Canopy product. It integrates with our software to provide real-time and historical monitoring data for various customers. The setup is fairly seamless for our particular case.
CONSAt times, the API integration leads us wondering whether data inconsistencies or outages are on our end (with the customer PC) or on data not being received or the server down on Banyan's end. Thankfully, the team at Banyan is responsive and great to work with.
Reasons for switching to Canopy
The custom dashboard we moved from was limited and required a lot of internal upkeep.

Much better used to run slow but now it’s smooth.

Very useful tool, highlyl recommended
I've really enjoyed dealing with [sensitive content hidden]. The entire team is fantastic.
PROSThe ability to see specific information about our machines is very convenient. We are very happy with our ability to see our machines in real time and communicate issues to our customers.
CONSThe interface is a bit slow, due to the amount of data captured and stored. Trying to find information within our syslog is painful.

My Overall experience has been good - I haven't done a lot with the help desk option but plan on using the support desk more often

Leaf-enabled units are communicating properly on Canopy.
CONSNeed to wait 5-10 seconds for the enable/disable leaf command prompt to appear via Linux.

Very well architected software that does the job!
Allow to track devices, nicely integrated where device communication can be monitored.Allow to perform minor updates to those devices easily.
CONSThe log search mechanism is very slow. Amount of log could be a contributing factor but still the system should be designed to search the log easily (how search enginees have large amount of data but thier search is super fast).

Excellent remote diagnostic & repair tool
