reliable, flexible and easy to learn

We have done several TDM trajects with the Datprof toolset for our clients which turned out very well

PROS

A vey smart and easy to use toolset. Very flexible and the Datprof helpdesk is always willing to help if you run into any problems. They even take suggestions on improvements for later versions

CONS

Masking rules that have to repeat a lot throughout the database are not set to be copied. So it takes some repeat work. Which is usually easy to do.

Alternatief voor synthetische data (generatie)?

De grote valkuil vind ik dat je relatief snel met Datprof aan de slag kunt: makkelijk te installeren, gebruikersvriendelijk en zelfverklarende desktop. Het is echter wel van belang om vooraf een goed functioneel ontwerp te maken en degelijke kennis te hebben van het datamodel.

PROS

De software is te gebruiken op een groot aantal applicaties en platforms. Data opgeslagen in bijvoorbeeld Oracle, SQLserver, DB2 of Postgress is op eenduidige wijze te depersonaliseren. Ketenconsistentie kan worden gerealiseerd door gebruik te maken van vertaaltabellen en deze tijdelijke in een afgesloten repository db op te slaan. Naast deze mogelijkheid zijn er diverse functies beschikbaar waardoor het lijkt alsof je met sysnthetische data test en de structuur van de data 100% gelijk is aan de productie omgeving.

CONS

Is niet echt een nadeel, maar met name in een Oracle db valt er veel te tunen waardoor fantastische performance gerealiseerd kan worden. Hiervoor is wel 'diepte' kennis van Oracle vereist. Datprof biedt hiervoor de nodige mogelijkheden.

Reason for choosing DATPROF

Datprof was (en is volgens mij nog steeds) marktleider in Nederland als het gaat om depersonaliseren van testdata en te voldoen aan AVG / GDPR. Daarnaast biedt Datprof de mogelijkheid om consistente subsets te maken m.b.v. het programma Subset waardoor maatwerk datasets beschikbaar gesteld kunnen worden aan testteams.

DATPROF is a down to earth company. Besides delivering software , they are passionate about solving the problem for their customers and go through great lengths to reach that goal. You'll find their support team very reachable, answering questions in a no-nonsence fashion.

PROS

DATPROF delivers easy to use software for fulfilling data needs. Its combination of products enables its end users to fulfill their data needs with a click of a single button. Ultimately, DATPROF enables organisations to provide themselves with data which is compliant, proportionate and easy to refresh. Thus reducing the storage footprint and at the same time increase effective, efficient and reliable data delivery for software development.

CONS

It's a relatively small software company, which results in choices that have to be made regarding development of the tool set.
